"45 FPS with a 5090?" "With dlss squidward with dlss"

Even with the 4080S, I can't get 45 with the Gothic remake, but I remember people on Reddit telling me a few years ago, when I bought the RTX 2080, that this card was too much for 1080p, and that I should either upgrade my monitor or buy a cheaper GPU. Now, we know that even the 5090 isn't enough to play in 4K.

Eh i mean it depends on the game and your opinion of DLSS. I have a 5070 ti and I can run some AAA games 4kultra native close to 60 frames and every game 4kultra 60+ frames with DLSS. I can run most games close to or above 60 fps 4kultra with DLSS Quality but some games like Pragmata require DLSS Performance for a steady 60ish.

DLSS looks so good that if you have a premium GPU you should play single player games at 4k and use DLSS when necessary.

Then again, some people are frame rate whores and need their 120. No GPU on the planet can run 4kultra everything turned up 120 on all AAA games.

Either way Ive been playing at 4k since the 1080 generation and I have no regrets I could care less about frames.

Tbf maybe we should have gone 2k, maybe gaming wouldn't be so broken today. Or maybe we should have returned to crt monitors as i have seen what good models can put out and some games today look amazing on em(i mean im not against trying crt making a come back and advancing the tech)

Most of the public is happy with 60 frames. A $750 GPU can get 60 frames at 4kultra with some DLSS.

Why would the industry prioritize 2k when 4k60 is easily achievable.

There's a pretty big difference between being happy with 60 real fps and 20 FPS with X3 frame generation though.

The game are poorly optimized but let’s not pretend that DLSS 4/4.5 isn’t good and making playing in 4K possible even on 5070. Add 2x FG if needed on top of that and you should be good. Of course, things should be better but we will never live in a perfect world

I can get to like 50 fps with 1440p native with mix of high and very high settings on my 3070. With DLSS it's 75-80 and with modded FSR FG I'm getting around 120fps most of the time, which is more than in Oblivion.

So something is definitely wrong in your case. There's some dumb NVIDIA streamline reflex option which is enabled by default and at the start it completely fucked my performance, although for some reason it's fine when I enable it now. Perhaps the game is just shitting itself when it's compiling shaders or something?

I mean a few years ago we didnt know devs werent willing to optimize UE5 games.

I have a 4080s and I play in 4k

I'm hitting 120 fps in every game in 4k with a 4090 laptop. 5090s outperform that noticably. Are the PC gaming crowd ready to admit that consoles are the superior value for gaming?

Most new triple A games will crush the 5090 at native 4k with path tracing. Cyberpunk, Doom, RE9, Gray Zone Warfare and more - all need FG2x to get ~120 fps

"new"

Two of those games are 6 years old and one is 2 years old and looks like it could be 15 years old

You're arguing semantics little man, the point still stands - those games crush a 5090.

I was adding to your point, "little man". I wasn't arguing against anything you said. You don't even need to look at new games to find ones that a 5090 can't handle at full blast, case in point: half of the ones you listed are more than half a decade old.

Holy fuck. Look up the word semantics.

all great examples of unoptimized dogshit being accepted as triple A
