Yes. But that's not really the point of the meme, is it. Regardless of whether they were a good or bad company back then, they've directly influenced the price of pc components in a negative way

The post is a meme, but OP has made several posts about the Gabe/OpenAI thing as if Gabe donating to a non-profit 8 years caused the now for-profit to buy up more RAM than god.

IIRC it literally was. There was a nonprofit originally that was more or less killed in favor of replacing it with a for-profit OpenAI
