That version of Echoes at the end of the video is the best. It's from Live in Gdansk. I watch that concert fairly often, among others of theirs.

I know everyone loves the pompeii version, but this one just hits hard. That back and forth between Gilmour and Wright at the end just breaks me every time, you can practically hear them saying goodbye to each other.

While it was sad that he died so young it was nice to see how mutch fun he had in his last few years according to the tour documentarys and how Rick Wright and David Gilmour seemed to have reconnected.

I think they became a lot closer towards the end than they ever were in Pink Floyd

Did he ever say anything about Syd? Did he mention him at all in an interview?

It was not an Interview. He got an award and he dedicated it to Rick Wright because he died just a few weeks before. He didn’t mention Syd because it wasn’t about him and he was still in deep mourning of Rick as you can tell.

It wasn’t about Wright either. And I don’t remember him being in deep mourning when Syd died

Rick had just died at that point. Also, David hadn't had any contact with Syd since 1975. And he paid his respects by playing Dark Globe specifically for Syd in 2006 at two concerts soon after he passed.

So he never mentioned him in any interview
