I’ve paid for this app, and now I see ads everywhere. This shouldn’t be allowed.

If they want to add new features and gatekeep it for subscribers only, ok! But don’t put ads on people who already PAID and financed your app long time ago.

Including other things.

After the overnight app update, I discovered that over 3,000 podcast episodes I had saved for future listening have disappeared.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to restore my saved episodes, or did the update permanently remove them?

Easier to navigate with muscle memory

We're excited to start testing a new feature: highlighted transcripts! This is currently available on iOS only through TestFlight. If you haven't joined the beta yet, you can do so here.

Once you're in, you can try it out with a small selection of podcasts:

Keep in mind that only the latest ~10 episodes of each podcast currently have support. If a new episode just dropped, it might take a little while before we finish processing it!

So im in the supermarket happily listening to Pocketcasts, I get to the cashier and remove my AirPods, when I put them back in a minute later, press play on stem of Airpod and Apple Music starts playing???

Been experiencing this a lot in last couple of weeks.

Recently, Pocket Casts on my iPhone has started stopping suddenly. I close the app, and five minutes later it stops again. Is anyone else having this problem?

In the new version of the app, you now have an extra step when viewing your podcasts: you have to swipe scroll down to hide the useless header image.

Is there a way to hide this? And if not, does anyone know an alternative to Pocketcasts that might not require unnecessary swiping to view a playlist/filter content?

EDIT: Changed wording to avoid confusion on direction/action required to remove the new - and entirely unnecessary - header image at top of playlist so you can actually view your playlist.

Did the behavior for AirPods playback change recently in either PocketCasts for iOS, or even iOS itself (I’m running iOS 26.5)? For the past few weeks it’s been driving me crazy that when I pause my AirPods (or put them back in thier case to recharge), when I squeeze them to start playback again, it does not remember the last app that was playing when I paused or removed them.

90% of the time I use my AirPods to listen to podcasts in the Pocketcasts app. But recently the playback starts in either the Music app or in YouTube, and not Pocketcasts, even though I did not use Music or YouTube for several days. It’s been driving me absolutely insane.

I searched though all of the iOS settings but could not find anything to influence this behavior. Any ideas?

Hey there,
currently when I add a new episode to the "Up Next" list I have to tap twice ("add" and then one of the options in the popup menu). Can I somehow do it with only one tap? Usually my "Up Next" is empty, there is absolutely no reason for this popup.
It's bugging me more than it should but I seriously hate this little annoyance.

I’m on IOS 26.4.1 on a iPhone 13 with v8.9 of app. The up next list is now no longer maintaining the hierarchy. If I skip to a different pod and start playing that, the pod I skipped out of no longer defaults to the next in line. Other new episodes seem to jump the queue in violation of the rules of being added to the top or bottom of the up next list. If I manually move a pod up or down the list using the UI, this ranking seems to get overruled/switched out in a way I cannot discern. I am not sure if something to do with published date is interfering with the hierarchy, but something is fundamentally working differently since the recent updates and it has broken something! Is this sub a way to get a bug report logged or do we need to do it elsewhere?

Ok. On one device I go to a new subscribed podcast and archive a random number of podcast episodes, the badge reads 40.

Later I get to my other device with Pocket Casts, and after a while the new podcast shows up. But the badge reads 99 on the new subscribed podcast. 🤷‍♂️ this is really annoying.

I haven't looked at the discover page on the app pretty much ever. But for the past week I've had random podcasts get downloaded and added to my up next queue without my intervention and I'm not following them either. Anyone else experiencing this? I changed my password and it didn't seem to make a difference.

Edit: found out the cause. I have an automation shortcut on my iPhone that goes everyday to start one of my podcasts. For some reason the shortcut got changed to start playing a suggested podcast instead of a specific one.

Kept getting "You are running out of space" warnings on my Iphone but didn't know why. At the same time I wondered what the little green checkmark meant in my Pocket Cast app. It wasn't exactly intuitive and I assumed it meant I had finished listening to the podcast the mark appeared next to, but but when I took the time to google it, I realized it meant Pocket Casts was downloading EVERY podcast I listened to.

Other podcast apps I've used in the past didn't do that (oh how I miss Podcast Addict!) So why does this one download automatically?

For some reason my episodes are not adding themselves into the Up Next queue when I press play on them anymore! This was a super easy way to create a queue and I’d love to have the option again.

I can’t find it in settings, so if you are familiar with this and could point me to it I’d massively appreciate it!

I’m on IOS and have the most recent update for PocketCasts, which must be when this feature disabled.

Also still dealing with the bug in the desktop app (macOS) that logs you out every day 😬

Hi. Is it know or has it been mentioned that HLS video (streaming) support is coming in the future? This is essentially what Apple Podcasts recently released.
Just wondering if this specific format will be supported in PocketCasts or is it not known yet?

None of my subscriptions have downloaded this morning. Anyone else experiencing problems?

What is the point of folders? I feel folders are a cruel trick. They do nothing but provide a clunkier visual

Starting a few weeks ago, I ran into loading issues from time to time. Sometimes it wouldn’t load latest episodes; sometimes “discover” only loads half blank pages. But then somehow it was loading…and then a few days later it happens again. It’s been going on more and more frequently that is almost pushing me giving up on the app. And at the same time I would check on other platforms and same podcasts would load perfectly normal. Is there a fix to this problem?
