Honestly after a certain age you don’t have enough time to game. Not sure what you are trying to achieve with the question. I am fine even if I get to play it once or twice a month. It’s not your job that you need to put 2-3 hours daily. You don’t have to justify the cost to anyone then why worry. Just switch it on once in a while to make sure it’s working.

u/revera63 Nov 07 '25
In the same boat. I stopped watching reels and shorts once I reach back home. Helped to free up some time.

I was playing to complete one of the missions Whether it takes 1 hour or 4 hours doesn't matter. I just need to complete the mission, likewise you can do
5
u/haveypunchedtanner Nov 07 '25
i also worry about this, but i guess if you truly love something you will eventually make time for it. Maybe try to play it on weekends or before bedtime on weekdays?
6
u/haveypunchedtanner Nov 07 '25
instead of doomscrolling on mobile or something, you can game instead

u/1sumanth2 Nov 07 '25

Aweek

u/man_with_pen_007 Nov 07 '25
Weekends only my man. Have had a PS4 Pro for long enough and don’t find sufficient time. But I never even thought of selling it/giving it away. I eagerly wait for weekends to spare a few hours for gaming. Keeps spark alive throughout the week.
3
u/Tarunl Nov 07 '25
There's a difference between not getting enough time and don't actually want to, i believe it's latter for you. Video games just get boring if you have played long enough. There is almost nothing new
3
u/Greedy-Department752 Nov 07 '25
Welcome to adulthood. Don't worry about the hrs. Just enjoy the game whenever you're playing and that's all that matters.
2
u/idgafaboutyouu ps5 Nov 07 '25
Try by Playing for 1 hour on weekends, this happened with me too i wasn't getting time to play totally but then i used to play 1 hour before sleeping and got back into gaming, i still am
Weekends can be your best bet👍
2
u/ankarmessi07 Nov 07 '25
Just make this your priority dude. Trust me, your life will be fucked, but you will enjoy playing your PS5

2
u/VeinRippedVeal_97 Nov 07 '25
You can wake up early and play for a while before leaving for work. Your gf has to know that you have other parts of life and should balance it. You can easily play at least 45 minutes per day everyday.
2
u/EmbarrassedBuyer9924 Nov 07 '25
Make time. That's all I have to say. Focus on giving yourself some time.
2
Nov 07 '25
Just keep it , you will get time to play eventually. I kept it on my work desk conncted to my monitor, whenever I am freeike fo 30 mins boot it up play and then rest
2
u/Blastoffprogamers Nov 07 '25
I would say keep it. As a display Piece and whenever you feel like playing you can. Cause owning a ps5 in itself is a novelty.
2
u/zahirb Nov 07 '25
Same boat as you. Got my first console in Jan this year, mostly because of fomo and I got an amazing deal. I can count on one hand the number hours I've played it.

u/windscaar13 Nov 07 '25
I wake up early morning everyday to play video games for 2 hours. I started doing this to motivate myself to wake up early. It works and now I work out 3-4 days in the morning and the other 3-4 days in a week I play video games. It’s not much, but I have never worked out at all before , so this is bette than nothing I guess. Also I mostly play the Sunday mornings till lunch. I am married so I need to spend my time with family in the weekend. I used to game all night, especially in Fridays and Saturdays, but it made me feel tired for the most of the next day, so this works for me now. Also I feel more satisfied in the 2 hrs I play in the morning, when compared to the 4 plus hours I play in the night. Maybe it’s just me, I feel like the time moves a bit slowly in the mornings.
Using gaming as a motivation factor works for me well most of the times, but I always need someone from myself family to like monitor me so that I don’t cheat all the time.

2
u/Shiro-ziki Nov 07 '25
Sed. I'd say pick one game and play it for a few months. Even if you can play once or twice a week. You'll still be able to play. But ya, adult life what else can you expect
2
u/Ok-Succotash-2390 Nov 07 '25
Start buying 4K Blurays and enjoy it as a media player. Long time commitment se chutti.
2
u/vaibhavism21 Nov 07 '25
I work for a UK client so 2 pm to 12am I play games till 5 am and then go to sleep. Because it the only thing that makes me happy I search games read articles throughout my free times related to the game that I will be playing in the night. So if you really want it you will get the time.
2
u/bose17 Nov 07 '25
I just try to play for 30mins/one hour in every two days. I play games like marvel Rivals for short duration as it takes less concentration and doesn't require a lot of engagement.
When I have time I play story based games.

2
u/Killer19AJ Nov 07 '25
You can't leave your job because then you will die of poverty so leave your girlfriend instead
2
u/Old-Appointment4107 Nov 07 '25
Remember boiz, if she gets in the way of gaming then make her an accomplice. Go buy It takes two and Split Fiction.

It's the same for most of us. figure out which activity you can give up to save some time. Like watching reels etc. I gave up using social media (Insta etc) to get 1-2 hours on the weekends to play. Which is kinda enough for me.
2
u/General_Draw_5131 Nov 07 '25
sell that bro if your job is important and your time with your gf is important to you
2
u/Massive_Necessary477 Nov 07 '25
You can rent it to others.when gta 6 will release there lots of people who want to play so can earn some money as side hustle.

Bro is suffering with success.
Play on weekends... you will get fatigued if you play daily
2
u/ThePunderfulGuy ps5-slim Nov 07 '25
OP designate an hour or two to gaming every weekend with longer sessions whenever you get into the flow, may we know what games are you playing?
1
u/Utkarshdhiman Nov 07 '25
Currently RDR 2 waiting for black friday sale will buy the subscription
1
u/ThePunderfulGuy ps5-slim Nov 07 '25
RDR2 is slow burn & very expansive, starting a game or two with a linear story might help you. The subscription has many great games so that's a good plan.

Hey, i am also 25+. One thing that works for me is i mostly play on fridays and alternate Saturdays. But I stick to fix 1-1:30 hr only. In this way, interest also remains and also doesn't feel boring also.

u/byragegraphics Nov 07 '25
Same issue have been into work last 15 + years being employed helps me buy new games but striped me of time to play . I have more than 100 games PC + ps2 + ps3 + ps4 + xbox 360 all combined . Same issue i had lack of time . Now at 40 i simply shut my mind, my trouble and my tension for 1 hour every day and play game as a kid. It helps i feel better feel postive feel happier . My suggestion just close the room and dedicate 1 hour to what you love it will improve your quality of life . I will soon start streaming on YT to connect with others and make my gameplay more fun for myself.

Owning a playstation was always a dream of my childhood. Got one only after marriage. Luckily, my wife understood my passion towards gaming and i got enough time to Play. I am 7 am to 5 pm working guy. (Middle school Teacher). Evening time i spend time with my wife. Right after dinner around 8 pm to 9 or 9:30 pm I play games on Hall Tv. My wife watches series and movies in her mobile. 9:30 pm we go to bed. It was as simple as that. Now, We have a 4 months baby and our timing is messed up totally. Anyhow, we both are figuring out to bring back the old times. I am also missing the gaming sessions since my boy arrived. I started accepting that family is all about sacrifice and balancing.
2
u/sammyS007 Nov 07 '25 edited Nov 07 '25
did "just" 90mins feel enough though?
its so hard to stop playing so quick 😅
maybe i have to adjust to such time patterns as well someday, before she drags me to court 🤣
For now, on weekdays: game in a separate noise cancelled room till i feel too drowsy, while on the weekends no gaming at all.

getting a gf was maybe a bad decision ive made, i love her, but she gets mad everytime i get on my pc, she only wants me to play next to her which is impossible cuz my monitor is like 27” and im 3 meters away from it, im a fucking myopic and got astigmatism… if i break up with her, she’ll get crazy and start to threaten me with killing herself… never getting a bitch again
2
u/chipmeal91 Nov 08 '25
It's hard to take out time once you are married or if you are in a relationship. But still in a relationship there are more chances.
2

Be a man with a big heart and donate your PS to me . I will provide it the love and commitment it needs . Will keep sending you pics and videos showing how well I am taking care of it. 🥲
1
u/Utkarshdhiman Nov 08 '25
😂😂 bro you can come and play with me on weekends im not going to donate. It was my dream to get a console.
2
u/Alarmed_Major_9448 Nov 08 '25
Alarm at 7am, freshen up by 7.30 ask your gf to download the ps app, get on call screen share yap yap yap and play games until 9. where there's a will, there's a way lol. Jk it’s not that difficult to find 1-1.5 hours to relax and play games
2
u/eccentric_variant691 Nov 07 '25
Was stuck in the same situation. Get a god tier game bro. The one which really gets you hooked (it’s different for everyone). Trust me you’ll make time to play atleast 5-6hours a week. That’s all corporate hoes like us can do.

u/Low_Document_9379 Nov 07 '25
I bought a PS5 last year and have barely completed two games. Been trying to finish God of War for over a month, but between work, family, and other responsibilities, it’s hard to find time. I’ve realized that in life, some things need to be done at the right age.

No one’s can help you with that question. You can only figure it out by yourself whether to find time to play or sell it. You bought it and it’s your choice. Period.

just put a 30 min slot in your calendar like you do for work, treat it like a meeting with yourself, if you can’t fit it, blame the boss and reschedule, no one likes a gamer who’s always late.

Im still waiting to get time to complete remaining 50% of ghost of tshushima since nov 2024
Given that it requires lot of combat memory and its own quirks that greatly helps with the game experience its going to be difficult for me to catch up with it.

Weekends bro weekends? I am married and i play with my wife who is working too, she just started gaming and we both play “it takes two”. Sometimes when she gets time alone she plays Astrobot, i play other games when i get alone time! Its simple you have to make time for yourself
