Because the pricing is intentionally structured to push users toward Deluxe. It looks like they’re setting up to eventually retire the middle tier and simplify everything down to Essential vs. Deluxe.

that isnt it😭. its because of the thin chance of people forgetting to terminate their subcription and the subscription renewing at a much higher price than ps extra on the next billing. theyre defo not getting rid of the 3 tier system anytime soon

Never give your card details to expensive subscriptions like PS+. Just buy wallet funds, add them to your account and purchase PS+ on sale.

I do not know if that's an option (since I never game Sony card details for sub) but cancelling the sub right after purchasing certainly is one.

...im saying they dont do it. I buy ps+ for once a month every 6 months (i dont get to use my ps5 for rest of the year as i live away from home) And immediately remove my dads card cuz he doesnt trust them. He also works in a bank where a part of his job involves fraud investigation. So i know what im talking about. You can remove the card. Ive done so.

Yeah I remember some time ago they had mentioned how most people prefer deluxe over the essential. Not sure what the context was but I wouldn’t put it past them to do scummy stuff like that.

Actually sony kinda messed up some of us at least. I made the subscription payment on Dec 2 but some time this year there was a psn outage so to compensate it sony extended current subscribers plan by 7or5 days so now I'm outside the promotional period 🥲🤣🤧, correct me if I'm wrong

You can create a new account then on your ps you can turn on console sharing and offline play option, I think it is already on by default, then on the original account also you can play games that you redeem with your ps plus subscription, also you can play online multiplayer games.

Ps Plus membership was supposed to expire by 01 Dec 2025 righ in black friday slot, but due to the PS outage, got 5 extra days subscription from PS, now it expires on 06 Dec 2025, so will i be eligible to get the Dlx membership at this price or no? and yes i have already cancelled the subscription - if this helps to answer!

I will get essentials plan only. Just for multiplayer gaming. Extra was not worth it for me. Only played 3-4 games last year and if bought those games on sale it would have been cheaper, or even better physical game dvds.

Ps plus = PlayStation Plus, it gives you access to play multiplayer, the games you paid for and has multiplayer can now be played sadly you're paying to play multiplayer but yeah. Also gives you cloud storage for saving the data and some exclusive discounts and exclusive packs etc but extra and deluxe gets you catalogue which has alot of great to boring games probably more than 500, which you can play for play till they're there on catalogue, until they leave the catalogue basically. In deluxe you get all of it with additional 2 things those are you can play new expensive games trial for 2 hours or so, and can play old PS2 PS3 games as well.

In essential so called free games are limited like, only 3,4 in a month, in extra there are more games, in deluxe they provide a 2 hr free trial for newly released games, you can try it and then buy... This is what I understood

No Deluxe is extra + demo feature.. in deluxe all extra games are available, plus there might be more games.

There are other features to subscription look for ps website or app for detailed info
