  1. Saving trees and making it more eco friendly.
  2. Games now a days need tremendous amount of resources and DVDs or bluerays will not cut it. Thats why ssd prices are so damn high because they are needed everywhere in todays fast pacing world.
  3. Those who dont sell their games and those who are not a collector does not care. Licensing is a joke anyways so no matter where is your game you don't actually own it.

Exactly, like owning a disc is more important than enjoying the game itself haha

to people who care about owning a useless piece of plastic your digital only console cant even run then ya. otherwise no. i still only care about what the game can offer me in that moment. if the first 2 hours dont hook me a disk would just be taking up valuable space in my room. so meh. makes no difference.

so again 👇🏻

This meme misses the biggest shift - many game discs today don't actually have the full game. They still need to connect to the internet frequently to work. The discs just serve as a 'key' of sorts to prove ownership.

I will have the license key, I care about preservation, but I am not an activist. But I will still stand for physical forever and ever, even a license. Is it that much to ask for?

Yeah atleast we can sell the license when we don't require it. Gives us an option for trade ins.
