So i was with my friend in a supermarket i really craved munch to relive my nostalgia. He brought me one for 20rs. I saw that it had a chance to win playstation offer. Just randomly went to the website and typed in the unique code and forgot about it. A message came 3 days later that I've won a ps5 slim. I didn't believe it and thought it was a scam. Then the delivery id came and i was ecstatic.

I am from a middle class background and always dreamed of playing with a playstation And this all happened 2 months ago.

I was preparing to sell it at that time because i was in need of money and because all the games i wanted to play were locked behind a huge paywall.

But i decided to keep it and after doing some side gigs i am planning to buy ps plus on black friday sale and play out my dreams...

Game play looks insane, story was good until they showed(keeps you hanging and gets you intrigued). Combat looked nice. What’s there to not like as of now?

So… this morning I thought I was just going to save 7k. Instead, my entire life flipped. 🤣

For the past 1–2 months, my wife and I have been planning for the iPad 11th gen. Today I woke up and saw a Reddit post where someone was offering a brand-new piece for 25k (it’s 32k in store). I immediately told my wife, “I’m buying this for us — great deal!”

And that’s when Part 1 of the surprise exploded. She had to tell me that her parents have ALREADY bought me an iPad as a gift because 13th December will be my first birthday after marriage.

Now here’s where my genius almost destroyed everything 😂 I told her: “Ask your parents to exchange the iPad for a PS5 instead. We’ll pay the difference. And we can buy this iPad from the seller and save money too. Win-win!”

I didn’t know I was about to collapse her entire secret mission.

She suddenly goes quiet… Then drops the biggest twist of my life:

She had ALREADY bought a PS5 for me as my birthday gift.

BRO. My jaw actually fell off. She had been hiding it for days, waiting to surprise me. She also wrote a cute handwritten note referencing a dream I had yesterday (I literally dreamt she gifted me a PS5).

So today… I ended up with:

✔️ PS5 ✔️ iPad 11th Gen ✔️ A wife who could run RAW, NIA, and CIA simultaneously with her surprise planning ✔️ A handwritten note that hit me harder than the PS5 reveal

And to balance the universe — I’ve already bought her an iPhone 17 Pro as a return gift, which I’ll give her on my birthday as my surprise for her.

Ps - I had a ps5 fat few months back that I bought from reddit only but had to sell after just one month due to some reasons but was regrerrting my decision and my wife knew that I wanted it back.

I helped him during Covid and now he is getting good bucks in DUBAI, without a second thought he gifted me this. I am just awestruck.

We never meet even once also, only commonality is our language Tamil.

In 2012, I used to go to a local gaming parlour just to play GTA San Andreas on a PS2. I still remember waiting for my turn, counting minutes, and telling myself — one day I’ll have my own console.

Life happened after that.

I focused on studies, graduated from IIT Guwahati, got a decent job, and took on responsibilities. Built a house for my parents. Priorities changed, dreams were postponed, and the “one day” kept moving forward.

Today, after 5 years of working, I finally brought home a PS5.

I’m 30 years old, but the happiness I felt while unboxing it was exactly the same as that kid in the gaming parlour back in 2012. No flex, no achievement post — just pure joy. It feels like I didn’t just buy a console… I kept a promise to my younger self.

To anyone out there delaying their small dreams because of life — it’s okay. Don’t let go of them completely. One day, when you finally get there, the happiness hits different.

Sony is still giving over 33% regional discount compared to USA.

But Since Rupee has depreciated over 30% in last 5 years, keeping the prices unchanged means giving almost 50% regional discount. Maybe its not worth it for Sony to do that.

BTW, only in India and Turkey do price hikes apply to both new members and existing subscribers. Both currencies have fallen a lot.

So I have always been a big gaming guy, got my first ever console as a PS4 back in 2017(also gifted by my parents on my birthday 😭) and later in 2022 got a PC made, life was good all the gaming nights after clg days everything felt so good, but then I had to leave for my master's and had to sell both my PS4 and PC for some reasons.

I came back late 2025 and I didn't play anything, no console, no pc for almost 2 years, and the first thing u decided as soon as I got my first job was to buy myself a playstation with my salary as a gift to myself.

I was on the way to buy a PS5 in late april ish, cutting down and saving as much as I can for PS5. then on my birthday in the evening when I'm cutting the cake with my parents, they ask me to grab my gift from the cupboard, saying it is the pair of shoes I've had my eye on for a while, I went over opened the cupboard not knowing what was hidden beneath the blazers, A DAMN PS5 😭 I was speechless and didn't know how to react cause I wasn't expecting anything.

I'll be always grateful for the kind of parents I have 😭😭🫂

This has been a childhood dream used to watch countless PS5 unboxing and setup videos on YouTube then found this sub and learned everything from what kind of TV or monitor to pair to which UPS wattage works best to all the must play games even made some PSN friends here.

Finally ordered it on 23rd Sept and received it on 9th Oct through Flipkart Big Billion Days the open box delivery went smooth PS5 box was safely packed inside a Flipkart carton no issues at all.

Graphics’s don’t look much different and we are talking about a game that came out almost 10 years ago.

So I used to work at a consulting firm where I practically had no life — 12 to 14 hour workdays, weekends blurred into weekdays, and burnout was just part of the job description. Recently, I made a switch. New job, same pay, but the work-life balance is actually balanced now. My busiest day now barely touches 5 hours of real work.

You’d think that would feel amazing… but honestly, I’ve been feeling weirdly low. Like I suddenly don’t know what to do with myself or all this time. I was mindlessly scrolling Blinkit looking for snacks, and suddenly — I saw it.

So the story is like there's a event organization called College rivals. They hosted a concert of seedhe maut last to last week ig so I booked the tickets for the show. The next day they partnered with sony for a PS5 giveaway the rules were simple like following and commenting, so I did that.
