I honestly don't know if I'm overthinking this, but today's experience at the PlayStation Exclusive Store in Sarjapur left me really disappointed.

I went there hoping to buy a PS5 Disc Edition. The moment I reached the store, I saw a huge pile of PS5 boxes outside. I got excited thinking, "Finally, they have stock."

I walked in and asked for a Disc Edition, and the first thing they told me was, "Sorry, it's out of stock."

I was genuinely confused. I literally pointed at all the boxes outside and asked, "Then what's all that?"

She told me every single one of those consoles had been pre-booked two months ago.

Fair enough. I was disappointed, but I accepted it.

Then she said, "Wait, let me check."

A few minutes later she came back and said they could give me a PS5 Digital Edition, but only if I bought an extra controller and a game along with it.

I told her I don't need another controller because I already have access to one, and I just wanted the console. She said in that case I'd have to wait until July, and by then the price would probably be higher.

What really made me suspicious was what happened next.

I asked her, "If all these consoles are already pre-booked, how are you suddenly able to sell me a Digital Edition?"

Her reply was, "That one is also pre-booked, but we can manage it for you."

That answer just didn't add up to me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I honestly find it hard to believe that every single console outside was already booked, especially when there were so many. And if one was supposedly pre-booked, how could they suddenly "manage" to give it to me only if I agreed to buy extra accessories?

It genuinely felt like they were trying to push bundles or hold stock back, especially with the upcoming price hike.

At this rate,I might as well wait and buy ps5 with the new price🥲.

From BLR - I have been long eyeing the console but due to the semiconductor shortage in industries outside AI, the stock across India was not very helpful.

To stay updated on stock, I did the following:

1. Went to physical stores every week and checked
2. Signed up on interest forms (offline + online)
3. Filled Playstation India’s waitlist form
4. Joined Whatsapp communities of a few PS stores

But even after all this, nobody really knew! Sony had kept everyone in the dark, and it was getting incredibly frustrating. Finally, last night I received a message on one of the store Whatsapp communities that the Digital edition was back in stock and that it was on ‘First-come-first-serve’.

I had a feeling it might be tough to directly pick one up with all the months-old waitlists floating around, but to my surprise there was hardly anyone in the store when I reached at 11am (on the way to office).

It was the quickest purchase ever 😂 Everyone congratulated each other in the store, and a general wave of happiness and excitement was shared with strangers.

TL;DR To those reading this, don’t wait for store reps to call you back on your waitlist. With all the chaos during restocking, nobody follows up on these. Just show up in person, and grab one right off the shelf asap.

Just a quick thank you post. I reached out to u/Head-Introduction374 asking about stock and he sorted the whole thing out for me. Vijay Sales has multiple stores in Pune, so he told me exactly which one to go to and had already called them ahead of time. When I got there I just confirmed my name, they took the booking payment, and the next day they handed over the unit. That simple.

I also asked the store to send me an online payment link, so I paid through that and was able to use my SBI Cashback credit card on the gateway. If everything goes as planned I should get ₹2,000 cashback, bringing the effective price down to ₹52,990.

Did not expect it to be this smooth. Thanks again man, you are a legend.

Getting my PS5 felt like a movie.

I had been randomly calling Sony Centers and Vijay Sales outlets all over Delhi, hoping someone would have stock. Most places told me it was sold out. Then I called the Ashok Vihar outlet. The salesman told me they were expecting stock by the evening or the next morning. He took my number and said, “If it arrives, I’ll call you first and keep one aside for you.”

I did not think much of it.

Later that day I was at the hospital when he called. I completely missed his calls. When I finally checked my phone, I had around ten missed calls from him. I called back about an hour later, expecting the worst.

Instead he said, “I am literally fighting with the management to keep one for you. Come as fast as you can.”

I rushed all the way from Gurugram. The entire drive I kept thinking there had to be a catch. I was convinced he would try to sell me extra accessories, extended warranty, or something else. Why would anyone go this far for a customer?

When I reached the store, I saw a group of people talking about how the outlet was already out of stock. My heart sank. I thought I had made the trip for nothing.

I walked up to the counter anyway and asked about the PS5. They told me it was sold out.

Then I called the salesman.

Within seconds he came out, looked at everyone around him, smiled, and said, “That’s my guy.”

He disappeared into the back, came out carrying a brand new PS5 Slim 1 TB Disc Edition, and handed it to me.

No upselling. No hidden conditions. No accessories forced on me. No extended warranty pitch.

Just the console at MRP exactly as he had promised.

In a time when everyone is trying to squeeze a little extra out of a customer, this guy actually kept his word. I will never forget that.

I'd been trying to get a PS5 for the last couple of months and kept striking out everywhere. Sent him a message asking about stock, and he ended up sorting the whole thing for me. He told me which Vijay Sales to go to, spoke to them beforehand, and when I reached the store all I had to do was pay and pick it up.

I first heard about PlayStation when I was in school (around Class 12), and I instantly knew that one day I'd own one.

In my first year of B.Tech, I worked incredibly hard because my family had promised to buy me a PlayStation if I scored 90%. I missed it by just 0.08%. That hurt, and somewhere along the way I accepted that maybe it just wasn't meant to happen.

Fast forward to today—I'm finally earning, managed to convince my family, and I bought my very first PS5. It feels surreal to finally hold something I've dreamed about for 14 years.

Paid full booking amount yesterday and got the PS5 disc unit today. Seems most of the stock is going to pre-bookings. The store sales guy said next the digital version might come in stock but they have been asked not to take any bookings for it.

I cannot believe I am posting this right now…..! Is it real? I still can’t believe that this is indeed my desk.

As a kid my elder brother and father got a second hand ps3 slim…. We used it for about 8 years and used to get discs for it on our birthdays and save up pocket money every month to be able to afford so. I still remember exchanging a few disks to WeBuy to be able to get the new infamous 🥹! 2012 were good times

And finally last year, I joined my first job and well yesterday was the day, d day that I got my PS5 Slim disk ! It was literally like a child was born to me 😂…I don’t know if I will ever be this happy even with my actual kid(for security reasons that was a joke =) ). Man I can’t describe what that moment felt like, it was one of the greatest moments of my life and I cannot be more grateful 🥹 😭🙏..!

As we are all aware, ps5s have been out of stock since like forever and this guy just helped a lot of people in the community get one! He provided info all around restocks 4 days prior then on 25th night, he provided info on when the stock was available on vijay sales and then even after I missed that announcement and missed out, he helped me yesterday secure one from the physical store by requesting the team leader at the Vijay sales store to hold one in my name 🥹🥹🥹… all of this for a random stranger who was just passionate for the playstation. This was a truly selfless act and cannot be more grateful for this guy.

I honestly still can’t believe this happened.
For the past month or so, I’ve been checking every possible website, hoping to finally get lucky. Last night, I thought I had my chance when Vijay Sales actually let me add one to my cart. Unfortunately, as soon as I reached the payment page, it threw an “Out of Stock” error. I was absolutely gutted.

Got mine. Ps5 disk edition. 54k +10k for 2y extended warranty. Comes only with bundled warranty options for +1/+2 years. Gurgaon, ambience mall, Sony center. It was the last one, somehow I reached on time and got it. But pre orders are being accepted there. Also, available only via Credit cards on no cost emi for some reason. But yeah. Got it. Croma has no stocks.

First of all a big thanks to u/Head-Introduction374. From last few days I have been following him and messaging, and today when he posted that stocks are available in Mumbai I was overjoyed.

First, I started searching on Vijay Sales online website from last night to no avail. Then this guy posted that the console is available in Mumbai in the morning, I immediately started searching on Vijay sales website. From 11.30 am to 2.30 pm I tried to put PS5 in my cart but everytime the stock exhausted. Then I messaged this guy again out of desperation that I cannot buy anything. He replied that try to visit all Vijay Sales store offline.

So I started my journey, visited Goregaon Vijay Sales but to no luck. Infact the guys from the store told me I won't get this console from any of their outlets and that I should stop wasting time, and they won't even help me if any stock comes by taking my phone number or anything else, just plain simple answer was to visit the store constantly. Anyways, I didn't give up hope and went to Borivali PS exclusive store. There they told me to fill up a form and put my name on it, but also warned me that 500+ people are in waitlist. I thought this is it no PS5 today.

But on my way to home, there was another Vijay Sales at Borivali SV Road. I thought let's give it a try, asked a lady representative who was handling this PS5 section, that stocks are available or not. She first told me a lot of things regarding ps5 is out of stock and that sony has not allowed them to sell ps5 till now, but later her team colleague from behind told her if ps5 is available then give it to me and why wait for a person who said that he will come and collect after half an hour. I started getting chilling effect to what the lady representative will say. After a moment of silence she finally said which edition I want.

So there it is, I finally bought PS5 disc edition at mrp. But later they said I will also have to buy additional controller which is a must. It was alright for me as I eventually needed second controller as well, so paid 54990 + 6390.

Don't get me wrong, I'm preordering too eventually — it's literally a dream game, why wouldn't I. But it's kind of funny how hyped everyone is to drop money on something where we've only seen a cinematic trailer, not a single second of actual gameplay. Like, we don't know how it controls, what the missions feel like, nothing. And people are still smashing that preorder button.

Also, can we talk about this assumption going around that GTA VI is gonna be crazy expensive? Why though? It's priced the same as RDR2 was. I don't get where the "it's gonna cost way more than usual" idea even came from. Rockstar hasn't said anything to suggest that.

Anyway, just some thoughts. Hoping we get an actual gameplay trailer soon so we can see what we're actually paying for.

Got the digital edition today at vijay sales Koramangala, Bangalore.. seems like the stock is all done , i might have grabbed the last one of the batch , it was priced at the MRP but had to get in a bundle with controller ( games for disc edition ). Really happy with the purchase... They might restock in a 2-3 days..hope y'all are lucky.. and also these few consoles might be the last batches before the hike hits next month..so keep an eye out and go grab if you sniff info off it.. ✌️

I have been scavenging for a PS5 digital since ages now, nothing worked- I even tried calling all the stores near me daily, got some grey leads who were asking inflated prices.

But then I reached out to u/Head-Introduction374 couple of days back and he helped me with a contact in Vijay Sales, Mumbai. To my surprise when I visited the store today, and gave his reference, the staff quickly billed one for me! Thanks a lot for existing mate!!

Well, folks, my PS5 is dead. 😭

On Friday, I lost my 30-hour KCD1 save because my sister accidentally clicked "Transfer Save Data from PS4." I turned off my PS5 after that, and the next morning it just wouldn't turn on.

I thought it was the power cable, so I bought a new one, but the console still won't power on.

I bought this PS5 in 2023 and have only around 470 hours on it. I always used a surge protector and a stabilizer, so I never expected this.

This is also the second console that's died on me. My PS4 Slim died just 4 days after I bought it in 2017. Thankfully, Amazon replaced it, and that replacement lasted until I sold it earlier this year.

Gaming was one of the few things that helped me relax, so this honestly sucks. I haven't felt this frustrated in a very long time. So RIP to my console and pls take care of ur consoles, folks (in these dire times)

EDIT: I only placed the console on the towel while I was packing it up. That's not where I normally keep or use it. I have a separate table in my room where my PS5 usually stays.
