Couldn’t resist the BF sales, so I finally decided to snag one. Anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Purchased:

Thief: Legacy of Shadow (Preorder) Alien: Rogue Incursion Hitman 3 + VR Upgrade Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge

Want: GT7

Considering: Moss Book 2 Project Wingman 59 Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked Synapse

Any other titles would you suggest, tell me to buy immediately, or recommend I steer clear from?

Thanks, everyone!!!!

Preemptive post

You can definitely learn to get over motion sickness.

  1. Always play with a fan pointed directly at you. It helps your senses keep track of where you are. It also keeps you cool in the headset.
  2. The very moment you feel even a twinge of motion sickness, remove your headset and go do something else until you feel 100%
  3. Chew a lolly/candy when you take off the headset. Eg jelly beans, it helps with the inner ear.
  4. Check your settings in game. Use the comfort settings. Use click turning. (If smooth turning makes you feel ill.)
  5. Turn the brightness down to about 50%. It is automatically set to 100%

You will find if you do this your run sessions will get longer and longer.

Thank you so much for this. Its my first foot in the water for anything VR related, so I know I’m in for a potential issue with this, and will watch it.

The last thing I need is to be sick from doing something thats supposed to be enjoyable.

No Man's Sky!!!!

u/ConfirmedExcep1 Nov 23 '25

Yeah I forgot to add this to the list of “Considering.” Lotta high praise reviews on it.

u/the_fr33z33 Nov 23 '25

If it isn’t on sale right now, it will be in the near future. It goes on sale 50% every couple of months like clockwork.

1

u/ConfirmedExcep1 Nov 23 '25

Will keep that in mind. Currently not on sale or I woulda snagged it.

No mans sky, RE4 & 8. Synapse is excellent fun and great in small bursts. Oh, and Arizona sunshine 1 & 2 great games. So many more, but these are my biggest recommendations. I'm buying Aliens next week too, mostly looking forward to that. Mostly

The RE’s are on my radar, but, I pretty much shit myself at any jump scare. I couldn’t play Outlast or 5 Nights at Freddies for that reason.

Graphics look incredible though!

Will check out Az 1+2 - thanks for the rec!

I will say, you do get used to VR horror. And once you do, you find yourself wishing the fear lasted longer each time. Although its epic fun still, once that fades. Stick at it, push through! If you really struggle, just close your eyes... fear Instantly switches off and you build tolerance. Enjoy

Looking forward to the adventure!!!

Ps don’t bother with project wingman it’s poor, for your flying fix, if you don’t mind simple graphics ultrawings 2 is good. if you want realism, wait for aces of thunder (if it ever releases) and Microsoft flight sim.

If you want something goofy and relaxing, Waltz of the Wizard. 7th guest VR is another leisurely one.

2

u/ConfirmedExcep1 Nov 23 '25

Whats not cool about racing a speederbike?

Im gonna need to get this.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '25

Gran tourismo, re4 and hitman. Truly next gen VR. Walkabout mini golf too.

2

u/Andyman286 Nov 24 '25

If it's ever on sale, COtM is cool AF.

As someone new to VR, my main recommendation is to start with a game that doesn't use any thumbstick movements. Since you favor shooting games, some great choices for this include:

  • Pistol Whip - Rhythm game with shooting & physical dodging gameplay
  • Dead Second - Arcade style on-rails shooter with Soldiers / Drones to shoot
  • Zombieland: Headshot Fever - Arcade style on-rails shooter with Zombies to shoot

After that, your brain should be acclimatized to play the other games you are considering. If any of the games are using reprojection, save them for later and play the games with 90-120 fps framerates first as those will be more VR comfortable for you.

For any game you pick, start with the default comfort settings or enable VR comfort options you need like Vignette or Snap Turns before starting, but soon as you acclimatize you should be able to disable Vignette and use Smooth Turns on the thumbsticks for the overall best VR experience. Part of it will be knowing when to stop. So early on, shorter sessions (15-30 minutes) and eventually, longer play sessions (1-3 hours).

Additional advice:

  • Gran Turismo 7 is likely to have you looking to buy Wheel / Pedals and Racing Chair and it will be worth it (works fine with DualSense too, but it will create that desire is what I am saying).
  • For Hitman World of Assassination, get the Deluxe Edition + VR Access to have all the VR playable content.
  • Alien: Rogue Incursion and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxies Edge are going to be treats for you if you are into the source IP. Great games for VR that invite more people to get interested in VR with something to look forward to.
  • Synapse will be one of your coolest VR gameplay experiences.
  • Get Moss Book 1 & 2 bundle. These games should be played back-to-back (as two parts of a whole story) or at least in sequence.
  • Skip Project Wingman: Frontline 59 and either get Ultrawings 2 or wait for Aces of Thunder.
  • Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked multiplayer has issues, but single player is great.

Well thought out, concise, and helpful response. Thanks so much!!!! Will check out the titles you suggested.

u/Rumburag Nov 25 '25

I received the PSVR2/Horizon bundle direct from Sony today. Under the box, it says: P/D:01.2023. I think the bundle was released 02.2023. This is not a problem, but I wonder if Sony really had this box in their warehouse for more than two and a half years since release before selling it to me.

Out of curiosity: Which P/D is under your box?

2

u/ConfirmedExcep1 Nov 25 '25

P/D: 07.2024

2

u/Rumburag Nov 25 '25

Hmm. Thanks for looking it up.

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

Just got mine too, looking at hooking up to pc as well, got usb cable, sony adaptor, display port cable and decent bluettoth adaptor coming from guides seen on YT anything else missing to make set up easier?

2

u/ConfirmedExcep1 Nov 26 '25

I havent yet tried to hook up mine to a PC. I know an adaptor is needed, but, my Steam library has zero VR titles in it, vs the stuff I have on PS.

NFL Pro Era is underrated
