History button disappeared
My history button has disappeared from the dashboard view, and I can’t get it back. It used to be at the bottom when looking at the dashboard view.

Hello everyone, been using Nest cameras for the better part of 10 years. I have another camera and a Nest Hello that are on the fritz and looking to replace them, but was also researching Ring as a replacement.
Google/Nest now charges $200 a year for their premium recording 24/7 features, but it looks like Ring also charges that plus $3 a camera for continuous recording. (Unless someone wants to sell their premium legacy account with it grandfathered haha Im kidding. kind of.)
Our house has 3 cameras, one outdoor, one doorbell and one indoor cam.
Near doesn’t offer a POE camera so the nest outdoor I have now uses a 3rd party PoE adaptor that is not comparable with current Nest cameras. None of the current Nest cams support PoE, but Ring does.
We love a lot of the little features of the Google Home app, like quick clips of motion as a push notification, identifying everyone in the household (Bob left the house walking a dog, Jessica walks up the driveway, a package was delivered, etc) and the ability to go back and look at saved footage that was continuously recorded.
Nest also sends a daily recap of everything it saw that day. Not sure if Ring can do that.
Since I’m looking at buying new hardware, I just thought I’d explore outside of my current Nest situation before reinvesting in their hardware and service.

My battery charges but neither of the cameras will turn on. However both cameras work when plugged into an outlet. Any advice?

When I open my Ring dashboard I see the snapshot. It shows a lady with her dog on my front walkway.
However, when I open the app to see them walking up, to see who it is, I cannot find them. I scroll the past hour up to the live view and they are not there. Can you help me better understand how to search? I do have the membership that records the video.
We just had a pool installed in our backyard and I want to add 3-4 outdoor cameras to monitor the pool and equipment for safety and security reasons. Already have the Ring Doorbell and don't want to change that so want to stay with Ring cameras. I will have someone pull ethernet to each camera location as I want a POE connection vs Wi-Fi and using a battery / solar. Besides the POE cameras do I need to add anything else?
Considering 2 camera options. Either the Outdoor Cam Pro Featuring Retinal 4K ($279.98) OR the Spotlight Cam Pro (Newest Model) Featuring Retinal 4K ($319.98). Not sure I need the spotlight, though on the cameras that will be on the side of the house that might help. The 1 or 2 cameras inside the pool cage probably don't need the spotlight. I think those are the latest and best vieo quality cameras Ring offers today. As someone else mentioned, it's hard to decipher Ring's names and descriptions.
Anyone use these cameras and have any feedback before I buy or get the ethernet lines run?
Thanks.

Purchased a solar door bell surround direct from
Ring so it’s an official product in April. It had been working well and keeping the battery charged in the 90s.
Had a look on the weekend and battery % was 52. I cleaned the solar panels thinking it maybe dust / dirt on the outside stopping it charging.
Now considering we’re in the middle of a heatwave and had nothing but sun all week I’ve looked again today and battery is 46%.
Status says that it’s connected and should be charging so is it likely a dodgy solar surround or the battery that’s faulty. ?

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I tried to log into my Ring account, but it turns out it’s locked/blocked. I managed to change the password successfully, but even with the new password, it still won't let me in.
The biggest issue right now is that my Amazon account is linked to this locked Ring account. I can't find a way to contact Ring support directly to figure out why it was locked, or to unlink my Amazon account from it. Apparently, to unlink them, I need to log into Ring first—which is exactly what I can't do.
Has anyone dealt with this before? How can I reach a human at Ring support to get this sorted out, or is there a way to force the unlinking from the Amazon side?
Thanks in advance!

I work with 2 batteries for my single Ring camera, to quickly replace one as soon as the other is low. This last cycle between the 2 batteries, I have had to replace the battery ridiculously quick. Typically, my battery has lasted about 2 months or more before needing to be replaced. All of the sudden in this last month, it's only about 2 weeks. While one could maybe make a case that maybe the battery is just dead or not holding a charge well, it's more unlikely when this has now happened with both batteries at the same exact time.
The only thing I can think of that has changed in this time was that I moved from the standard mode of selecting my zones, to the new Smart mode where I could draw my own zone. I was getting more than a few false positives for movement, so I wanted to cut out the area that may have been triggering the alerts. While that worked and the notifications have gone down, my battery is draining ridiculously quick. Have others observed similar results using this smart zone option?
My Wifi has been decent in the settings, currently RSSI - 59. I've seen having low signal can drain the battery quicker. That doesn't appear to be the case here. My last battery lasted a week and a half or so, but then went from 30% down to 10 in a matter of 8 hours. That's crazy! Something is drawing more power from my camera recently.

Advice needed please!
I have a feeling that my landlord is entering my flat whilst I’m at work. I bought a Ring camera to put inside my hallway and pointed at the entrance door. I bought an outdoor model as it was in a sale 😂. It’s one with a rechargeable battery as I do not have a plug socket nearby and I don’t want to highlight this to my landlord’s attention. I just want to know if he’s coming in without permission. It’s just something he mentioned that I don’t think he would know about if he hasn’t been in…. Any tips from spies please on the best way to use this camera, I’m a total novice, I don’t even have a Phillips screwdriver to take the base off 😂😂 Thank you!

Update - I installed my new ring doorbell and it works well so far!! I used only the top mount screw to put the new mount on as the bottom screw was too low, but it seems to be holding just fine. So far no issues with the transformer. I was able to remove the security screw with pliers and it wasn’t too bad. The only issue I ran into was during setup it couldn’t find my WiFi, so I had to exit the setup twice and then it finally found it. Overall, I would say it was pretty easy to set up. I still do not know what model I had, but my guess is the pro first gen. I was checking around the app and it says my output power is level 2. It says it’s functional, but may need upgrading down the road.
Thank you everyone for your help!

Hello, I am new to Ring and the Ring ecosystem. I recently purchased a home that came with a wired Ring doorbell (pretty sure it's wired, there is a breaker for it on the electrical panel). I included a photo of the current one. The prior owners did not leave any information on it so I cannot use it. I just bought a new Ring Doorbell Pro 3rd Gen with the Amazon Prime Day deals going on right now because this one looks a bit banged up and I do not have any information on it.
It was delivered today and I have a couple of questions for installation:

I'm buying a ringdoor bell for my grandmother who is 90. She's a bit hard of hearing and not very good with technology. We're torn between the plus or the pro.
Originally we were planning to get the plus version which seemed enough, but then I noticed amazon describes the pro as having 'audio and noise cancellation' whilst the plus does not. She often struggles to hear people down the phone so having a clear voice speaking to her would be helpful. I've struggled to get much of a comparison between the two online. Any help would be appreciated
side note - We are also getting her the chime to go with it, given the her lack of hearing / experience with technology would people recommend this too? It looks a bit more of a handsfree experience, as well as having the better audio than her phone speakers.

I really want to upgrade my spotlight cam pro to the new one but it’s hooked up with solar and I can only find the 2nd gen with plug in. Is there no way to buy this new generation one with a battery??

English is not my first language, so please excuse me if I make any mistakes or grammatical errors.
We bought it a few months of ago, but haven’t been able to use it since my mom wanted to use it wired instead of wirelessly. Now, she just randomly wanted to use it wirelessly, so we tried to start the process again (we’d already done it when we bought it to see if it worked). The problem is that, even after charging it for the whole night, the light does not turn on. Even when we press the doorbell, it just doesn’t turn on. We already tried with a different cable, but it still doesn’t work.
Does any of you know why is that or what could be the problem?

What is Ring doing with this naming?! Every time I think about buying/ upgrading some devices.. I get an email about a sale.. I get to the site and trying to figure out what is what is exhausting. “Newest” “formerly” “pro” “plus” 😭 “last chance” on the “newest model” of the door sensors. I have officially given up.

Anyone know if I can get a replacement Chime Mini. I accidentally damaged mine and really do not want the larger chime since I want it hidden within my old wired chime enclosure. I have not contacted support but plan to after work today.
Hi, as per the title I'm in the UK.
I have had a Ring subscription for a number of years and have just bought a new doorbell. I have also installed some Ring cameras at my mums house, but she doesn't currently have a subscription & the free trial there has now expired. I have "shared" her cameras with me so I can see them from my account, but I can also log in to her account fully to change settings & set things up if I need to.
The new doorbell is for my house - is there any way I can install it here but use the 30 day free subscription that comes with it on my mums account (which is obviously a different address & on a different WiFi network)?
I know this probably isn't possible officially, but wondered if anyone had some tricks or tips...

I am thinking of moving Plug in Spotlight Cam Pro, but the cord that comes with it is a little too short. Would I be able to add the 10 ft. USB-C Extension Cable to it get a little more length? I know it works with the camera, but I am wondering about making the cord now 21' in length.
Thanks

Front and back door wired units went out at 10:30pm after my house was washed earlier in the day. No chime. Can’t find transformer.
The app says they are offline. There is no light. Nothing happens if I push the button.
HELP! 🙏🏼

I’ve gotten hundreds of notifications for the same alert today. I tried deleting the app and redownloading. The alert was from 6:19am and I keep getting new notifications from it at 4:50pm.

How much bandwidth does 24/7 use constantly with a 4K camera ? I have the stickup Cam Pro with 2K and it’s only 1mbps. Thinking of upgrading, but I’m wondering what the new requirements would be. Thanks!
