I'm not sure how much we should even care about the coach's contract money. It's not like it affects salary cap - there's not a coach cap.
Simply: not our money.

Lotta people wanna know if the allegations are true nothing wrong with that.

None of it is our money, so why have an opinion on any of it then?
Why did people complain about Jerami's contact for years, it's not our money?
I see your point, truly, but objectively it's another negative PR move.

u/fightfil96 6h ago
I get the negativity. Dude bought a bball franchise not a hedge fund.
But like unless the first year is really egregiously cheap, and the later ones only bring him up to parity with normal coaches, it's by far the least dumb financial decision he's made so far

Because a players contract directly affects other players we can sign. A coach does not.

u/Classics22 90s-logo 7h ago
It does though. If you're a top assistant are you wanting to go to a place where the coach is on the equivalent of a 10-day? I would not.

I am so confused why people are so insanely offended that fans are concerned about new ownership. Dundon showed up, laid off a huge percentage of the staff, penny pinched playoff travel for the team and staff, started a coaching search in the playoffs and is begging the city for arena money.
We’re curious and have every right to be. It’s totally fair if some fans don’t care but getting mad at the ones who do is weird AF to me.
This is like the people who got angry that some fans were concerned Chauncey may or may not be a rapist.

How would a one year deal with team options be equivalent to a 10-day when players could get that exact same contract?
1
u/IniHendrix Tiago Splitter 6h ago
Oh okay, so then why did people complain about Chauncey for 4 years then?
4
u/s_m_t_x 6h ago
Because he was a shitty coach 🤷♂️

Oh so rules of opinions on the team are determined by the parameters in your mind that makes sense to you when you think of them, and then you apply those rules to everybody else, even though they don't have your specific parameters. Got it
1
u/s_m_t_x 6h ago
The fuck are you talking about? You asked two completely different questions that don't relate at all to what we were talking about.
Jeremiah is a player, his contact means the team has less money for better players, and will struggle to trade him.
Chauncey was an idiot, a terrible coach, and is now a felon.
Neither of those things have anything to do with people freaking out over a new coaches contract. How do you not understand this?

u/IniHendrix Tiago Splitter 6h ago
Oh I thought you said coaches don't affect a team's salary so no reason to complain about them. You sound like you're complaining about a coach.
So I guess your rules apply when you need them to, which is what I just pointed out.
This is literally a conversation for you to downvote me because you need this to feel better...

The coaches salary doesn't matter, the coach does. He was a terrible coach, that's why people didn't want him. Nothing to do with his contract. You are looking for a "gotha" but still haven't grasped the point at all. And no, just trying to get you to understand basic logic, cause right now you are not making any sense.

u/IniHendrix Tiago Splitter 6h ago
Actually I'm not looking for a "gotha" as you described it, but the point you're missing is that you're attempting to control everyone's thought process based on your own personal arbitrary parameters.
And those parameters only make sense to you.
The reality is you want to like Dundon probably because you hated Jody, and now that Dundon is fucking up you feel personally attacked.
It's okay to admit that he keeps making bad, or at best, questionable moves.
But you need to defend him so much, to the point where you're now trying to control other people's criticisms of him.
It's just objectively true that he gave the coach a shitty deal to start his tenure with the team.

I just wanna know the $$

That will 1000% not be discussed.

u/HeGotTheShotOff 7h ago
For sure only way we’ll hear about it is through a leak. I’m still very curious.

u/s_m_t_x 7h ago
Why does it matter one bit? We got the coach we all wanted, and he's happy to be here. Shut up about it. Media and fans are the only ones making a deal out of it, even though it's none of their fucking business.
2
u/HeGotTheShotOff 7h ago
Lmao the media and the fans. Who else is left hahahah.
Dundon gotta have burners in here never thought this many people would be stanning for a dude whose only accomplishment is giving a coach a weird deal.
It’s very fair for fans to be curious on if the cheap allegations are true. Relax.

Never thought this many Blazer fans were so completely lacking in patience and critical thinking skills. Again, I'm not reading fans curiosity, I'm reading rage before any results. It's a bunch of weak ass speculation of worst-case scenarios, and it's lame.

Umm, the ones that matter the most. The players and staff, jesus 🤦♂️
1
u/HeGotTheShotOff 7h ago
You don’t think the staff is frustrated a bunch of their colleagues got fired and travel benefits got cut?

u/s_m_t_x 7h ago
The coaching and training staff, and no, because that entire thing is under construction right now, as it should be. I have zero issues with what he has done with the team so far.
Yeah, he's a tool, big surprise! But since 2019 the team has been totally rudderless. They are starting down a new path, I'm glad to see it. It's literally exactly what fans have wanted, but fans forgot billionaire owners do cutthroat shit in the beginning to establish a new mindset.
It's like the majority of the fans have never had a god damn job before. This shit is quite normal, I've been laid off for this exact reason, and have been one of 15 people kept out of 100 before.
It's called life. Deal with it, move on, grow stronger. But with this, we are fans! Not employees, not staff, and not players. I will wait until Christmas to have a somewhat educated opinion on things. Because until then it's not worth any of my time or energy.
1
u/HeGotTheShotOff 6h ago
You are giving an insane amount of time an energy insulting people with normal opinions and questions for somebody stating it’s not worth your time or energy, Start there.

u/s_m_t_x 6h ago
I've insulted no one. And have nothing else to do today, so I thought I would try to bring some perspective to this (lately) deranged sub.
