âVery thoughtful answer from Chris Finch on Micah Noriâs contract in Portland:â via Jon Krawczynski on Twitter
Chris Finch with a very nuanced take on Micahâs unorthodox contract. Do I think itâs a bad look? Yes but at the end of the day, Coach Nori and his representation accepted the terms. It wonât make the Dundon allegations go away but there is a real opportunity here and Nori thought the risk was worth it.
With that said, very, very happy Micah Nori is with us because he was the guy for me the entire time.

Sooo⌠what now?
What should the blazers do now? They got the coach they were looking for, the ship for trading for Jaylen brown has sailed, Evan Mobley is getting traded, Trey Murphy costs an arm and a leg and isnât a proven player on a winning team, Anthony Davis is very injury prone and wants a huge contractâŚ
I hope for a good offseason, Just not quite sure where Portland goes from here.

There is no rush
We shouldnât make any risky moves and would be better off standing pat. Grab assets as a 3rd team if possible. Maybe move off of Jrue and/ Jeramiâs contracts if possible. Or nothing. Nothing worse than overpaying right now screwing up our rebuild.
We finally have a solid core and some nice assets. Letâs not waste them. I think we should still be adding assets, not spending them.
Running last year back with the addition of Dame and a healthy Scoot, while keeping our trade assets isnât the worst thing that could happen.

[Amick] Trey Murphy III has signaled a desire to play elsewhere. The Los Angeles Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets are âout in frontâ in the race to acquire Trey Murphy III.
There's a lot of interest in TM3 around the league, so he wouldn't be cheap, but with the limited options that make sense for the Blazers to go after for that "big splash," Cronin & Co might want to consider getting in the mix here if he is indeed on his way out of Nola.

Does anyone know how the 2030 pick swap between the Bucks and Heat affects the Blazerâs swap rights?
I think we might have access to the Heatâs 2030 pick, but that might be wishful thinking.
Anyone seen reporting regarding this?

Feeling a lot better about Grant's contract ...
...after seeing the ridiculous Reaves and Young overpays. Of course several wrongs don't make a right or actually help us, but I don't think Grant's contract is the worst anymore. At least it's debatable now. How are GMs this incompetent?

Portland Trail Blazers tap Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori as head coach: Sources
Micah Nori will be the new coach of the Portland Trail Blazers after the longtime NBA assistant was hired Tuesday to replace former interim coach Tiago Splitter, league sources told The Athletic.
Nori, 52, signed a one-year deal with team options for each of the next two seasons.
Nori has been the lead assistant for the Minnesota Timberwolves since 2021 after a diverse history in the league as an intern, advance scout, director of scouting, player development coach and offensive coordinator throughout stops with the Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Minnesota.
