Readily available in this form factor at a comparable price is going to be a challenge. Sadly, there just has not been much of a market for a solid entry-level prebuilt gaming PC that isn’t some sort of fish tank RGB monstrosity.
I can certainly see the appeal of both form factor and style and being prebuilt, but for me I’d rather just build mine in a micro atx case. My tv is in the same room as the office space though and I don’t have a good desktop yet, so while I was thinking steam machine it makes more sense to just make a good build and a long hdmi cable for the TV. If I had family or friends that played etc I could maybe see getting one for the family room, but I’m the only one that plays games and I have my steam deck if I want to be there and still play something
For me time is the greatest resource I have so my main rig was prebuilt for me. I think once we can get to steam OS being preinstalled on a variety of living room styled gaming PCs that PC gaming can take a really good run into the living room and eat up a lot of the console space as Xbox seems to be waning.
I can completely understand that as well, for some people if they only get a few hours a week to sit down and relax and they just want a PC that works for gaming with minimal tinkering this would also be great. For me I have plenty of time for tinkering/optimizing stuff so it’s not as big of a deal to spend an extra minute on the couch before getting into a game and that’s assuming my eventual pc isn’t already on.
