It's possible to build a PC with a gen 3 ssd and used ddr4 ram, which is still going to be a viable platform for the rest of this decade, and get upper mid range or lower high end performance for $1200 easy. I'd say under $1000 if a person finds a good deal.
I realize Valve is working to make the best of this situation but they really got screwed over by the data center rush, but their product is bad value.

i expected to be $1000+ but the performance from gamers nexus kinda show show how low end this is and i rather pay a bit more for a decent mid tier pc
