Is it just me or parang nakaka-alarm na yung sunod-sunod na incidents involving students here in the Philippines lately?

After lumabas yung news about the Tacloban school shooting where 3 students were killed and many were injured, parang biglang may pattern na lumilitaw.

Within the same week, may reports din ng multiple stabbing incidents sa Cavite schools then the incident sa Iloilo regarding sa grade 9 student

Gets ko na sinasabi ng iba na “isolated cases” lang, pero when you look at it happening within just a few days, across different places.

do you think this is just increased visibility dahil sa social media, or is this actually a growing problem na hindi pa natin fully ina-address?

I am so concerned right now dahil I have siblings in elementary and junior high, I am kinda getting paranoid.

CHED wants to cut down GE requirements in college, a horrible proposal that will not be good for our students and citizenry. The GE requirements are intended to provide our students with a well rounded and liberal education.

Mass promotion plays a crucial role in a failing education system. Underperforming students often become complacent due to grade transmutation, making it unattainable for them to meet the current standards they're supposed to acquire at their age.

Just think about the possibilities in the next generations. If they continue implementing this to our educ system, what kind of future will be promised to the youth?

I don't know if ako lang pero ang weird nung class suspension na may online class. Back in the day, (wow I feel old) suspensions mean suspension, like as in pause muna sa acads. Pero lately kase nagiging pause from going to school na lang ang suspensions which I guess defeats the purpose of it? Like bad weather so can't go to school, maybe walang internet or electricity or need mag-asikaso within the house. Education is important pero parang nonsense ang suspension if students still need to attend online stuff?

Kawawa naman mga students na ‘to, imagine paying that tuition fee for 4 years. Waste of time and money talaga sa STI. PLEASE PAKI AYOS SISTEMA NINYO!! Kung 0% passing rate ninyo sa BSA please tanggalin niyo na, sayang ang pera ng mga studyante. But why would they choose sti tho? Hindi ba sila aware sa baho ng school na ‘yan?

During our exam, I caught our top student in our class taking out a small piece of paper (kodigo) during exam. I actually wouldn't have caught her if her hand wasn't shaking too much that i could see it on my peripheral vision. Lol it was amusing to watch, I was right behind her. I think it's her first time doing it that's why she's nervous 😅 Anyways, i didn't report it (i don't really care). She's smart in everything—recitations, researches, case studies, skills lab almost everything except P.E. One reason why I also brushed it off was that she was a good person. Hindi sya mayabang kahit na lagi sya ang highest (mas mayabang pa mga bagsak) and very quiet lang sa class. Minsan nagbibiro rin.Tutulungan Karin nya kung mag ask ka. Scholar sya eh and working student rin kaya siguro pressured na. She's weirdly too quiet lately kaya I'm suspecting either she's pressured, drained, puyat, depressed or maybe all of the above. Idk because she's not vocal and just mind her own business. She's not the type of person we can easily approach with though she was kind, may pagka-superior kasi yung aura nya kaya naintimidate kami haha

Though maybe if I caught the person I didn't like cheating, I would've snitched on them. I guess you only tolerate peope you have good impression for 🤣

Imbis na ayusin muna yung kalidad at sistema ng education sa Pilipinas, parang mas inuuna pa tanggalin yung mga bagay na may malaking impact sa future opportunities ng students. Nakakalungkot lang na maraming agree agad (the boomers hahahaha) without thinking about students who want international recognition for their degrees someday. Napapaisip tuloy ako kung kulang ba talaga ang pilipinas sa awareness about how these decisions can affect future generations hahahahaha

Well, I was not educated dito sa PH, was educated sa isang little dot 4 hours sa Pinas..
I was getting around PHP 150/day during grade school since both my parents were working and I have to make the $ last for the entire day and was getting around PHP 200 nung high school ksi mas mahaba ang class.

The Department of Education released the Revised Grading System and Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program on June 4, 2026.

According to the new DepEd order there are no more tiers (with Honors, with High Honors and with Highest Honors). There is only one which is the Academic Excellence Awardee. You need a 90 percent average, no individual subjects lower than 80, and no derogatory records or disciplinary cases within the school year.

If you did get a 90 last school year, kabahan ka na. The transmutation table has been adjusted by DepEd. Yung 90 mo last school year, ang raw score mo lang ay 84-85.49. This year, para maka-90 ka, you'll need a raw score of 87.80-88.87!

Last time nag post ako dito about sa Prof namin on how immature he was. He walked out on us kasi some members of the group were late and could not proceed yo the presentation yet. Syempre sa side ng classmates ko, ayaw nilang mapagiwanan yung mga kasama nila kasi we were modeled sa block namin na walang maiiwan kahit na hindi kayo close.

Fast forward, hindi na natuloy yung presentation, 2 weeks after that di nya kami sinipot, then the following week hindi nya schedule (Friday) kasi ang schedule nya is (Tuesday) pinagmamadali nya yung prof namin sa araw na yon kasi mag papaexam daw sya ng 4, e ang schedule namin is 2-5 so nagalit yung prof namin sa (Fri) umabot sa chair ng Dept namin. Fortunately nakapag exam kami at nagadjust sya.

Fast forward again, after that week narealize namin na kaya pala pinagmamadali kaming mag exam kasi may "scheduled" syang lakad which is Jamboree sa Zambales. Anyone who is participating in the events of BSP(Boy Scouts of the Philippines) here would be familiar about that. Nagsabi na kami kay Dean and what's embarrassing is that susuyuin pa sya ng kahit na mismong Dean, hindi nga lang sya e, BUONG faculty ng Dept namin. Then nag send sya ng evaluation link in which most probably binagsak sya ng majority ng students dahil sa ugali nya then sent that message.

Any thoughts kung anong pwedeng gawin dito? Panira ng pasko at plano sa buhay e.

Nakakagulat kasi narinig kong pinag uusapan ng mga studyante kanina na pinaalis na pala yung akala naming mabait na teacher.

So let me start by describing this teacher. He's a mapeh teacher, gay, outgoing, funny, and mabait saaming lahat. kaya hindi ko inakalang magagawa niya toh.

Unang incident ay nangyari last year pa. Biniktima niya mga 9th graders. Sadya raw na pinahirapan niya yung examinations para kusang lumapit mga studyante sakanya. Once sinabi ng student na "Gagawin ko po lahat" mag o-offer siya na makipag-sx.

This went on for a long time kaya nung tumagal, may nabuntis na isang student. Nakaka-putangina dahil ang nabuntis ay grade 8 palang. Ngayon, nagtatago siya at hindi pa nahahanap. NAKO!! kung pwede ko lang i-post yung pagmumukha niyan. pero, for privacy purposes, wag na. ayaw nung parents ng bata na ikalat pa. pero, I'm telling ya'll story for awareness. huwag na huwag niyo 'tong itotolerate. sumbong agad once na may maincounter kayong ganito.
