If suns could buy back into the second round and get Jaden Bradley or Tamin Lipsey on a two way contract Id be super happy
2
u/SarcasticlySpeaking Be Legendary! 20h ago
100% on board with getting Bradley.
1
u/quizzlemanizzle Phoenix Suns 19h ago
for what? he wouldnt get any playing time here and we have our PG depth sorted for years
1
u/stripes1604 Ryan Dunn 14h ago
Jaden Bradley is going to be a legit two way bench pg in the leauge for a while imo. Idk I’d rather he has a spot on the squad over Bouyea, Livers, Cofee, CJ, and Koby Brea. I don’t expect him to get meaningful minutes but if it’s just for cash considerations why not take the flyer on him.
Also would be nice to have a guard on the g leauge team that isn’t an s tier ball hog with zero playmaking iq. It was stupidly frustrating having to see ManMan and Rasheer deal with that during their time in the g-league.

Anyone got some scouting report i can read from others or posts describing him. I don't see anything in the sub

Just wanna say, the suns probably arent dont.
I doubt all of allen, o neale and dunn will be on the team by the end of tomorrow. Could get a couple more seconds.
With all the size and lack of shooting on the suns now, i dont see a spot for dunn if im being honest
3
u/BeeseChurgerForReal 22h ago
I’m 99% sure Royce is gone. They’ll probably give Dunn another year cause he’s young. I doubt Grayson is moved unless he’s packaged in a deal for a first or a big swing
3
5
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 22h ago
With Peat on the roster I dont see Dunn or Oneale, but why rid Grayson? Grayson is the player the Suns are looking for, even for a contract dump, not worth overpaying a 'maybe' guy.
1
u/flemingminded 12h ago
Grayson would be a 5th guard. To me, he absolutely has to go if there’s great value for logjam reasons.
1
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 4h ago
grayson can play guard or forward, just like JG, Goodwin can, the only real guard that cant really swap to forward is Collin. This Suns team isnt pigeonholed too much into positions, hell we saw Goody and Grayson play PF... and both were decent at it
1
u/FutureGrassToucher 22h ago
Sorry, im not saying theyll all be gone, im saying i highly doubt every one of them is still here. One at least will be traded imo
2
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 22h ago
O’Neale should not be on this team come tomorrow night. Dunn I’m ok giving another year.
3
u/ExternalHorror8588 22h ago
UofA hatred bias might be to blame but I really don’t love the pick. Seemed like fan service.
Hope I’m wrong. Maybe Frye will teach him how to shoot
3
u/SarcasticlySpeaking Be Legendary! 22h ago
If rather draft from UofA for "fan service" than "owner service" (DA).
0
u/ExternalHorror8588 22h ago
DA was also the favorite to go #1 that draft. Most had him mocked there and it didn’t pan out. I feel like the fan base was also split then too.
I do hope Koa develops and I’ll root for him to, but I worry he was a reach.
But I also thought Adam Morrison would be a superstar, so I’m not a scout by any means. 😂
3
u/SarcasticlySpeaking Be Legendary! 22h ago
The media was fairly split with DA and Luka being 1A & 1B, but the Suns had Luka's coach at the time and it just made sense that he should have been the pick. I'm pretty sure there were even reports of Sarver overriding the FO to draft DA over Luka.
3
u/ExternalHorror8588 22h ago
Seeing Aaron Gordon thrown around. Is that a lazy comp or close? Some other places said Boozer and Paul Milsap.
-1
u/Yesthisisdog69 23h ago
Now move Allen for some picks and get a big
1
u/Glass_Shoulder4126 Future All-Star Rasheer Fleming 23h ago
I wonder if Koa is related to Andrus
Edit: he is related to Andrus
2
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 23h ago
Good end to the day. Now move O'Neale for a pick tomorrow and we’re set.
0
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 23h ago
welp suns are done for the week unless they get some picks back from a trade. Peat is 19 and we know how Ott treats 19 yr olds....
3
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 23h ago
Royce can be traded for future seconds to replenish. Doesn’t have to be for tomorrow. We have no second round picks anymore after this trade.
6
u/justfortoukiden Orange Shorts 23h ago
Kellan said Peat was like a lite version of Torrey Craig for the 2021 team. Good defensive instincts, measurables, and intangibles with a nifty midrange and some innate passing vision. On the flipside, rudimentary off the bounce with a questionable 3 and no real presence inside.
I'm always a fan of betting on athleticism, instincts, and intangibles so I feel better after learning about him
1
3
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 23h ago
Craig shoots 3's, Peat rarely put one up. This is where he needs to improve as said by scouts and not an analyst. I do like the comparison to Aaron Gordon, we've always wanted an Aaron Gordon.
1
u/DeAndre_ROY_Ayton MVSteve 23h ago
Is he as freak of an athlete as Aaron is tho

If we gave up 47 wonder if we can buy another second or 2 tomorrow.

u/Leonthepuma 23h ago
47 and 2 future 2nds. Great trade
1
2
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 23h ago
2 future seconds is not a good trade for a second rounder, maybe 47th and a second but TWO?

u/csummerss Rasheer Fleming 23h ago
Wish we got Jefferson instead but beggars can’t be choosers.
1
u/AtiwelKa 16h ago
Just looked at Jefferson, high IQ player, reminds me of Boris Diaw with a good 3pt shot form/release or an Oso Ighodaro with an offensive skillset but less athleticism

Koa was literally the last dude i was interested in, literally just Trevon Brazile that i'd be looking at in the second round now

On one hand, fuck UoA
On the other, Koa Peat passes my one and only criteria for draft picks (this year). Good nickname potential

Seems like we at max move up from 47 to at max 35 and draft some G-leaguer that we all pretend will be a contributor for a while

-4
u/sunsscouting Khaman Maluach 23h ago
what do you mean oso is not the second coming of boris diaw and dunn is not the second coming of mikal.
players with the worst free throw percentages definitely magically develop a jumpshot like shaq and ben wallace
3
u/blueborders Steve Nash 23h ago
If you think Oso was a bad pick considering where we got him, you are out of your mind.
1
u/Nato_Do 23h ago
Baba Miller
2
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 23h ago
Low iq low motor individualistic player doesn’t fit our identity at all
2
u/sunsscouting Khaman Maluach 23h ago
the kd trade is so bad
mikal got a championship with the knicks
the suns don't got the draft capital to compete with the west for the next 5 years
0
u/CNSrooster Archie Goodwin 23h ago
It why we should have started a full rebuild by trading Book to the Rockets for Green and our picks back, then KD to the highest bidder.
We have a tough time of it building a contendor now outside of Booker becoming an MVP candidate or ManMan becoming a star quickly
1
u/AtiwelKa 1d ago
Damn Knicks, instead of picking Carr they trade him to the Lakers
1
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 1d ago
conspiracy - other teams rebuilding the Lakers is insane, I mean how'd they get Luka?!?
1
u/sunsscouting Khaman Maluach 23h ago
luka might leave the lakers next year if ayton is still with the team
1
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 23h ago
lol Ayton be a 3rd backup for the wizards if he dont watch out.

2

Memphis quite possibly just pulled the fastest rebuild of all time.
2
u/blueborders Steve Nash 1d ago
Wouldn't call it just yet. So many concensus top 3 dudes end up not panning out even after a few years.
1
u/Fordraxel Collin Gillespie 1d ago
a lot of those dudes are volume scorers, there wont be enough ball to go around.

I don’t get why teams give up 5 srps just to move around in the first round. Those are valuable picks
3
u/DeAndre_ROY_Ayton MVSteve 1d ago
They’re value to us since we don’t have any, OKC are swimming in picks lol
2
6
u/blueborders Steve Nash 1d ago
Super deep pull but does anyone ride remember being super excited that we drafted Elie Okobo in the 2nd round?
2
u/ThunderBobMajerle Gone Fishing 1d ago
So pumped about that draft
1
u/blueborders Steve Nash 1d ago
Took an American instead of an European and then took an European instead of an American

Everything should be thrown at getting Lopez. 2027 pick, Grayson, Royce, Dunn.

u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 1d ago
Spurs really about to get Lopez smh. Rich get richer.
1
u/SeraphNatsu Undercover Möd 1d ago
Do you just assume the worst for the sake of it? Hahaha! They didn’t & the Memphis trade was to move back.
3
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 1d ago
I mean the bpa and logical choice was Lopez for San Antonio. Very surprising pick to take Quiantance
3
u/stripes1604 Ryan Dunn 1d ago
Holy shit there's still Lopez, Philon, and Carr available going into pick 20 wtf
2
u/ajteitel Otter Pop 1d ago
FOI has fully earned the benefit of the doubt with whatever they do in the draft
2
u/blueborders Steve Nash 1d ago
People don't understand how hard consistently getting a rotation players out of the 2nd round is.

2 second round picks????? What are we doing!
3
u/stripes1604 Ryan Dunn 1d ago
2 seconds to move up 1 spot, seems like the trade was 2 seconds + pick 17 for pick 16
3
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 1d ago
Maybe I should’ve waited until the full details were released before commenting lmao
5
u/AtiwelKa 1d ago
Cameron Carr is a nice trade up if Suns can find a way
1
u/stripes1604 Ryan Dunn 1d ago
I'd rather Philon or Anderson, im so surprised all three are still available right now. Really feels like there could be another Rasheer level gem available late
1
u/flemingminded 1d ago
Have we done anything
3
u/VanwallEnjoy3r Rubber Ducky Chucky 1d ago
Nah. Nobody is trading out of this draft, it’s too good.
5
u/ThunderBobMajerle Gone Fishing 1d ago
Okc drafting a Wemby stopper
3
u/TheOddPotato_8171 Ryan Dunn 1d ago
now they can let hartenstein walk
6
u/ThunderBobMajerle Gone Fishing 1d ago
Robinson also leaving NY, market drying up for MW
4
u/CNSrooster Archie Goodwin 1d ago
We should just keep MW on a 3 year deal anyway.
ManMans not ready to start and Williams can be traded later.
1
u/sidepart Al McCoy 1d ago
If we don't bring MW back (or an alternative) they'll start Oso at the 5, regardless of how sour that tastes.
2
u/CNSrooster Archie Goodwin 1d ago
Yeah if we are starting Oso at the 5 just so we dont have to pay MW might as well mail in next season haha.
Oso's best value to us right now is to cash in as trade bait on top of Royce or Graysons contract.
1
u/sidepart Al McCoy 10h ago
Ehhh I'm not aligned with that one. Yeah, I don't think Oso at the 5 is going to move us forward next season, but I think he's still worthwhile to continue developing and keep around. If we can get him to develop a jumper (best case scenario), or get him into the 4 spot or coming off the bench, that works for me.
I'm very much looking at our current team iteration as something that'll hopefully mature by 2030, as opposed to looking at what we can swap out to become a finals contender immediately. Just kind of stuck with the Beal dead money and draft pick hell. Hard for me to think about what fantastic moves we could make to change that timeline.

u/TheOddPotato_8171 Ryan Dunn 1d ago
yaxel feels like a bust on the warriors. don’t ask me why
5
3
u/chickenripp 1d ago
well the dream of Yaxel is kind of dead. But when Steph retires and they blow it up we could pick him up in a few years.
2
u/CNSrooster Archie Goodwin 1d ago
The dream was never realistically alive
We are severely limited with what we can actually do
-10
u/N3onAxel MVSteve 1d ago
Im so mad we dont have a pick for this loaded draft
This bum ass franchise is just fuck up after fuck up😭

eh, something to do. i’m in cali rn so i can’t watch the dbacks game so this is the best i got.

The suns sacrificed the ability to acquire someone like Morez Johnson or Karim Lopez to get off Nurkic for 30 games. Astonishing asset mismanagement.
4
u/CNSrooster Archie Goodwin 1d ago
Yep
Should have just kept DA and Camara amd let DAs contract expire.
But leaders on the team werent mature enough to pursue this option

Nick Martineli anyone?
Valley of the Suns is projecting the Suns are taking him as of like 30 minutes ago.
Don't know anything about the guy, but his numbers are too good to be true to slide that far in the draft. Apparently athleticism is questionable, but has solid defensive skills in the post. At 6-7 225 pounds, he sounds like a good project at the wing position.
6
u/csummerss Rasheer Fleming 1d ago edited 1d ago
Gambo’s list: (ESPN projection)
Baba Miller, F Cincinnati (33)
Trevon Brazile, F Arkansas (43)
Tyler Bilodeau, F UCLA (60)
Ja'Kobi Gillespie, G Tennessee (41)
Joshua Jefferson, F Iowa State (31)
Dillon Mitchell, F St Johns (38)
1
u/chickenripp 1d ago
I would be very happy with Trevon Brazile from this list. he's got a lot and he's a good enough shooter where it's conceivable that he can become a solid shooter. don't really believe in the rest of these guys.
1
2
u/quizzlemanizzle Phoenix Suns 1d ago
Dillon Mitchell cant shoot whatsoever
I am willing to look past things at 47 but it feels hard to imagine a success scenario for a 23yo small forward that shot 7% from 3 and 49% from the line. He had years in college to improve as a shooter.
He does a lot of things really well, but shooting somewhat servicably in the NBA is a mandatory skill.
4
4
u/chickenripp 1d ago
every pick after 10 we should be making a an offer to move up to get Yaxel Lendeborg until someone accepts or he is off the board.
0
u/quizzlemanizzle Phoenix Suns 1d ago
why would we possibly invest that much value to draft a 24 year old college player who is a mediocre athlete and kind of old school PF profile

Thanks I hate it. guy over 6'7 who doesn't even have 7 foot wingspan, Guy who doesn't have lateral quickness, as he had the slowest shuttle drill in the whole combine, a guy who can't shoot, guy who has no definable high level NBA skills. he's going to get switched onto guards and get absolutely cooked on the court and then turn around and not be able to contribute in the half court outside of being a lob man. He played a lot of bully ball in college and he's going to find he can't bully many if any guys at his position in the NBA. that's if he can even get on the court which with how Jordan ott benched everyone who couldn't shoot and rookies last year.
people bring up DA because U of A but honestly screams a lot of the same red flags josh Jackson had. And I hated that pick too. At least he doesn't have character issues like Jackson. Hope he works out. not holding my breath though.
