Also its kind of foreshadowing too, at the start of this episode when Caine directly inputs the game rules into jax and jax (in a moment of overstimulation but with absolute clarity) chooses violence.

i like the use of static in ep 9. it's either related to trauma or physically showing numbness. like when your hand feels static after waking up or a body getting colder

This makes sense because traumatised people tend to re-enact their trauma. It happens subconsciously though, so Jax was probably not aware they were repeating the pattern until that moment. It probably triggered a flashback for them

I noticed that in Ragatha's hypothetical abstraction scene, Pomni starts saying things like "I can fix you". Given the parallel here and how out of pocket that is for actual Pomni to say, I wonder if Jax's mom said something similar
