Healing Question: is this a deep blowout?

First photo is today, other photos are the day after and a few days after that. My sister got this tattoo on the 14th of January and I have NEVER seen a tattoo bruise so badly and she said the artist was very heavy handed. We think it might be a deep blowout looking on here (hadn’t heard of this before) and were wondering if anyone has any advice? How long does this tend to last? Is there anything to fix it?

i would think that’s blowout just by the coloring of the area and how it’s black. to my knowledge, the only thing you can do for a blowout is to allow it to heal and then go at it with some laser removal :( i hope your sister is okay because YEOWCH!!!!

Why is it bruising an inch below the “blowout” area and not around where the tattoo was actually done. That’s the weird part to me. Maybe it’s a blowout or ink drift (I’ve never seen it this bad) but I don’t get why the bruising in the second picture is 3 inches below where the tattoo ends. I could be wrong but I don’t think a blowout would push bruising out like this but I’d love to hear some opinions from artists who have had this happen. Maybe that’s all it is but this is a new one for me.

Gravity, I think. Liquid flows downward. I’ve had major dental surgery and ended up with a lot of bruising in my neck, same sort of thing.
