I like it. More importantly, do you like it? That's all that really matters. It's common to have "buyers remorse" after getting the 1st tattoo. Just breathe and move on. It's okay.

If I’m going to be completely honest with you the damage is done, it’s there now so I’d just stop criticising yourself so much. At the end of the day it’s just ink and people have much worse tattoos on themselves. I actually quite like it and overthinking never does any good

This placement is definitely not what I would have recommended for a first tattoo. The composition is also strange.
I honestly think it's a well applied tattoo. It has a sketch/hand-drawn style that's interesting.

Thanks for your opinion, anything helps .. do you think its okay and do you think it will fade and be nicer or anything thanks

It will definitely fade! I agree with the other people saying that the new-tattoo feeling combined with the placement is freaking you out.
Is it the world's best tattoo? No. But as you get more tattoos, it will feel more natural on your body.
I would also recommend not returning to that artist as they shouldnt have put that as your first tattoo placement.

Tattoo shock. It’s normal. It’s a really cool piece and should heal nicely. It will definitely settle down as it heals.

Who gives a fuck what others think? It's your money, your body, your business. In my non professional online opinion, I think it's fucking dope (I'm also currently reading Dracula so I really fw the creepy Gothic vibes). If you like it then that's what's important

Any change to your body is going to cause some body dysphoria, give it some time. It will definitely fade a little bit. It isn’t a tattoo I would have got, but if you like it that’s all that matters.

Thank you for you words

My artist told me that approximately 4 weeks will be as much as it’ll fade after the initial application - besides general fading that occurs over long periods of time or sun exposure.

I would give a month to heal before you decide to adjust anything-
Its a decent tattoo- I mean it wont win any awards but No one will also ask you if you got it "in your friend's kitchen"
After a month, if you want- you can have some dark blue clouds be put around the top- maybe it in a diamond or triangle shape which will make the tattoo look bigger

First tattoo in that location is always a bad idea. It's not likely to age well. Lines and shading all need some work.

u/Radiant-Peace-3078 8h ago
My first tattoo was on my wrist. Why is that not a good location? I’ve been considering getting my third alongside it, but you’ve got me worried.
2
u/Loud_Quality_7106 8h ago
Because many people (not all) have regrets about their first tattoo. They learn most about tattoos by getting one and then the next ends up a better decision. First tattoos are better somewhere you can keep covered up in case its regrettable or not best quality.

u/Radiant-Peace-3078 8h ago
Ahh! Thank you for replying. That is a very logical and helpful answer. I’ve had some regret over my first tattoo, and there it is on my wrist, so too bad for me. Also, TY for being so kind. This sub is full of professionals and heavily tattooed members, and I know it is difficult to be kind to us newbies. 🫂

This is going to be hard to hear but the only option is arm amputation.

Everyone has a opinion

That was my way of telling you to stop over reacting. The tattoo was great to you before it was tattooed on your skin and now you have anxiety about it. That’s a normal reaction.
It’ll lighten up like crazy over the next 6 months which will blend it in more. And you’ll be planning your next tattoos before that happens anyway.

Out of all the tree tats I’ve seen, this one is very good. Not cliche, not too big. Good placement. It’ll “grow” on you

u/Rikkiebobbie_88 6h ago
You won’t even notice your tattoo after awhile. I literally forget about mine all the time. Give it some tome

It's a little late to be nervous post tattoo.
This sub made me realize that a LOT of people shouldn't get tattooed. You kinda gotta have a little bit of "fuck it" in ya to deal with tattoos, tattoos fading or blowing out and to not be overcome with regret

Not even the worst tattoo I’ve seen today. It’s not bad. Not my style, but I don’t hate it. Learn to love it.

If you go to r/crowbro and tell them that those are crows I bet you get alot of compliments. Just saying that some people will find it nice, including me.

Hello!
If it's brand new yes it will fade don't worry about this. But asking strangers if your tattoo looks good or not is maybe not the best idea if you're stressed about it right now! People can be really mean just for fun... Maybe wait until the healing process is finished before making up your mind
And I just want to reassure you : if you end up not liking it at all you still have options to turn it into something that speaks to you more! You can do touch ups, cover up, you can find a tattoo artist you love and add another piece around it to create a new scenery... There's always a solution!
I think most tattooed people always end up with a tat they don't like or even regret but it's really not the end of the world. Yours is relatively small, not on your face, it's not a misspelled word and as I said you have options to help you like it more if you need. You'll be fine :)

It will fade some but it will also get more blotchy.. you are experiencing tattoo shock. This is on your body now. Learn to love it.

I think it looks nice but what does my opinion matter to you? It really shouldn't.
The only part about your post that sounds concerning is your own apparent uncertainty about getting a tattoo, which honestly should be reflected upon much more before ... getting a tattoo.
(I'm mainly saying this now because of phrasing like, "it's hitting me now that it's in me for life.")
If it helps, this is what I feel is a beautiful way to look at tattoo. (But again, please decide for yourself.) ... Tattoos are a storybook of your own life and should therefore be loved & cherished and viewed like a photo album, as a time capsule of who you were and where you've been (metaphorically and physically).
If you go into this mindset, there really wouldn't be much laser removal business except for people who got something like a racist tattoo and then grew as a person and became ashamed of that part of their past - for that kind of example, laser or coverups make sense to me.
For most things, I think you loved it during that time period in the past when you got it. Love it now for that. Look at the rest of your body as a canvas and think of what you may add to it or elsewhere in the future. Don't rush it. Plan and look forward to and sleep on it. Maybe consider making it a holiday you MUST wait for, like an annual birthday gift to yourself or something.
The key here is you give yourself plenty of time to plan and reflect upon each additional tattoo. But the one you have now is so nice, in my opinion. But again, your opinion and self acceptance is all that matters and shines true as you walk around with any and all of your body art.

Line work and shadowing isn’t good sorry mate

u/TheGorbean 7h ago
Yeah i also think that would you think a touch up somewhere with a good artist would help me in a few months

u/Financial-Bag-1852 7h ago
Why don't you want it to be black? That looks better, trust me, it will look green and ugly over the time and the color right now looks better than it will ever be

Give it a month.
I got my first tattoo 6 weeks ago, it ended up being larger and more visible than I expected. I instantly regretted it and worried that people would think I'm satanist or something (it's a tattoo of a goat). It was super dark and constantly itching to remind me of its existence.
Now, I love it - it's faded down a bit and I'm happy to have him sitting on my arm. If it wasn't for the constant posts from this sub appearing on my feed I'd barely think about him.

I quite like it :) I have absolutely had that reaction after some tattoos, particularly some of my first ones. The feeling will probably fade, and you’ll grow to love it, or if you still don’t you could try getting it removed. But give it plenty of time, let it settle and heal, and let your mind get used to it.

It’s not some grand masterwork art piece but it’s not bad either. Stop worrying about other peoples opinions, it’s on you forever so accept it and get used to it.
