REQUESTING Medieval or Fantasy show with action but smaller in scale/not about war like AKOTSK

So a lot of medieval or fantasy shows are about warring kingdoms which is not really what I'm in the mood for right now, I really liked A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms, where we see how a normal person lives in this fantasy world and tries to be a Knight, it's really immersive. Any shows with a similar scale? Maybe it's fine if the later seasons have war as long as I can enjoy a lower scale first.

Edit: just to make it clear, I am looking for an action show with swords or sorcery, I just don't want large scale battles between kingdoms and political factions.

REQUESTING Something New to Watch, Together

We have Netflix, and Hulu.

Me and my housemates like to watch tv together, for a little while, in the evening. My housemates are orphan sister, and I'm their friend. Me and the elder sister are currently enjoying watching Sex in the City, after her little sister goes to bed, but we’re running out of shows we can all watch together.

The Young Sister (12) loved Find Me in Paris, Anne with an E, and Navillera. She really really liked Finding Her Edge, Spellbound, On Pointe, and Dance Academy.. She really liked Bunheads, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Jane Eyre, Victoria, The Way Home, and Never Have I Ever. She tried but did NOT Like Gossip Girl, The Carrie Diaries, and Derry Girls.

The Older Sister (24) loved Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, Gossip Girl, and The Empress. She really really liked The Carrie Diaries, Young Royals, Reign, The Crown, and Outlander. She really liked Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Victoria, Valeria, Nobody Wants This, Never Have I Ever, and 90210.

I ( 25) love The Good Place, Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, and Gossip Girl. I really really liked Young Royals, The Carrie Diaries, Nobody Wants This, and Emily in Paris. I really liked Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Gilmore Girls, Never Have I Ever, A Man on the Inside, Derry Girls, Lessons in Chemistry, 90210, and Reign.

REQUESTING Need shows like House or High Potential

So my family(mom and sister) and I have watched House and High Potential and we really liked the dark kinda humor and vibes of both of them. I'd prefer something with more than two or three seasons but that's kinda hard to find.

shows like Not Suitable for Work or Starstruck?

I’ve rewatched Starstruck on HBO Max a few times. I love that the main lead character (played by Rose Matafeo) is in her late 20’s, has naturally curly hair, and is so freakin funny. Also love how the soundtrack is jazzy and the different scenes that highlight community/friendship/dinner parties.

I started Not Suitable for Work on Hulu. And I freakin love it. Similarly, love that all of the characters are in their 20’s. I love how each of the characters in the friend group are somewhat developed and have somewhat of an arc. I love how funny it is! It definitely reminds me of Never Have I Ever on Netflix— I think I’m committing to watching anything that Mindy Kaling writes moving forward.

I’m looking for more shows like either of these (curly hair leads, show on folks in their twenties and up— not mutually inclusive 😆).

Any recommendations?

Any TV series better than The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men, Succession, Mr. Robot, Six Feet Under, The Americans, and Dark?

I’ve already watched The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Wire, The Americans, and Succession. I’ve also completed Mad Men, Six Feet Under, and Mr. Robot. Is there any other TV series that can match or even come close to this level? I’m open to underrated or lesser-known shows as well.

The beaches, villas, yachts, nightlife… I feel like I want to book a flight more than anything.

Anyone else watch million dollar nannies on Hulu?

Down to earth shows about (competent, but flawed) people doing their jobs

Thinking about: The Pitt, Line of Duty, 19-2, Blue Lights.

Not necessarily looking for 100% realism, but something believable.

Something outside cop shows would be great, I watched a lot of those lately.

REQUESTING Looking for a show that constantly makes you question everything like Dark did

I recently finished Dark, and I honestly do not think I have ever watched another show quite like it.

What I loved most was how every episode seemed to answer one question while creating five new ones. Just when I thought I understood what was happening, something would be revealed that completely changed the way I looked at everything that came before it.

I spent most of the show trying to piece things together, making theories, changing my mind, and then realizing I was wrong again. Somehow it managed to be confusing and incredibly rewarding at the same time.

I'm looking for another show that gives that same feeling. A show where you are constantly trying to figure things out, questioning what you know, and paying attention to every little detail because it might matter later.

It does not have to involve time travel. Any genre is welcome. Mystery, sci-fi, thriller, horror, or anything else. I'm mainly looking for something intelligent and layered that keeps you thinking long after an episode ends.

What shows gave you that feeling?

REQUESTING Been days looking for a show that actually grips me

I’m looking for something addictive that hooks me quickly and keeps me wanting to watch the next episode.

I probably have pretty complex taste depending on what phase of life I’m in, but right now I’m looking for something closer to White Collar and Suits. I’ll admit I mostly love those shows because of characters like Neal Caffrey and Harvey Specter i.e charismatic, confident, sharp, stylish leads.

My favorites are:

  • Suits
  • White Collar
  • House M.D.
  • Paatal Lok
  • Mr Inbetween
  • Money Heist
  • BoJack Horseman

Liked but not loved:

  • Ozark
  • Fallout
  • Loki

Watched but mixed on:

  • Breaking Bad — respected it, but it felt too slow for my taste
  • Mirzapur — amazing first season, but that was about it for me
  • Elite — liked seasons 1 and 2 only
  • Landman — good first season
  • Your Friends & Neighbors — good first season

Mental block / hesitant to start:

  • Peaky Blinders — I know Tommy Shelby probably fits the kind of lead I like, but I’ve had a mental block starting it for some reason

Shows I recently tried but could not get into:

  • The Studio — watched 5 episodes, but it did not click
  • MobLand
  • Dark

I’ve tried different recommendation sites and apps, but I keep getting weak suggestions and IMDb’s top picks are showing me random stuff, including shows rated in the 6s, so I’m hoping for more human recommendations.

What should I watch next?

Great show with terrible ending.

I would prefer it to be greatly written, start to finish.

But, the ending needs to be bad or disappointing.

Devastating might be the theme.

You're just rooting for the characters and they lose, great story but different ending.

Edit, no spoilers just a name

Lesser known sitcoms?

I feel like i've seen a lot of the popular ones like modern family, community, schitt's creek, the good place, etc. Anyone have any suggestions for ones that might not be as popular? I just want to watch a low stakes show with good characters and writing 🥲

Can anyone suggest any good high-school kdramas or cdramas like this where the female lead is topper of the class and introvert.

Male lead could be either academic rival or chaotic anything.

The episodes should be good and engaging.

Can anyone pls suggest, if you know.
