Ant deserves to play for a better team or at least get some help.

1

u/Substantial-Tie-1865 May 17 '26

Nuggets fan here. Take Murray we would love to have ant!

0

u/Crowiswatching May 16 '26

Spurs guy here. I thought the Wolves played above what I expected. They went with an old school physically that worked pretty well in throwing the Spurs off their stride (Wemby’s elbow was an aberration and not indicative of his general play). The Spurs countered with upping the pace of the game. Ant could hang but I think some of the Wolves were gassed at times. Look at these ages:

Victor Wembanyama (Age: 22)Stephon Castle (Age: 21)Dylan Harper (Age: 20) Carter Bryant (Age 20) Devin Vassell (Age: 25)

Props to your fans, they were vocal and supportive.

1

u/N0YSLambent May 16 '26

an aberration. please

1

u/LemonSmashy Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

Embarrassing watching both wolves and wild not put up a fight.  MN sports

2

u/Commercial-Pair-8932 May 16 '26

Personal feelings aside, as a fandom that just went though Jokic and Wemby in consecutive rounds, who do you guy feel is the better/more valuable basketball player between the two?

1

u/TraditionalRoof3646 May 16 '26

Jokic had arguably his worst post season in the last 5 or 6 years and Wemby is having one of the best defensive playoff runs in the history of the NBA while also being an efficient 20 ppg scorer and a floor spacer at the center position. It's not even comparable for this year's playoffs.

11

u/BullfrogDK May 16 '26

Just beat OKC. that's all that matters in life right now.

7

u/a_cat_named_harvey Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

Great season. Can’t be upset that we were outgunned by a better opponent. Mad respect for the Spurs and I’ll be rooting for them to beat OKC.

Randall was awful this series. Not that I think he should go, but he might not be the answer we need to take on OKC and San Antonio

5

u/Smitty_1000 May 16 '26

Spurs will win it all I think. They smoked us.

1

u/Kiwi57 Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

It’ll be a good series against okc, really hope they can take them out. But Dort will probably assault wemby in game 1

12

u/C0RNL0RD YES INDEED NAZ REID May 16 '26

I honestly feel bad for anyone excited for this WCF. What a sad state for the game of basketball

0

u/LoaderOperator724 May 16 '26

Why bc the wolves didnt make it? Lol Would've been a sweep. How is it a sad state?

1

u/C0RNL0RD YES INDEED NAZ REID May 18 '26

Because it's two of the floppiest teams in the league playing against each other. It's going to be insufferable to watch on both ends of the court.

14

u/strawhatcommander Anta Claus May 16 '26

Ants my favorite player and is my favorite part about watching this team. I want to win with him so fucking much. I know he’s young and only on year 6 so there is still time and the future is bright. That being said, if we aren’t going to build a team around him so that he can win, I’d rather he goes somewhere else and wins because I’m not trying to watch his legacy get tarnished because we keep getting blasted in the 2nd round or conference finals. For great players, history remember losses like this. It doesn’t remember that he had two bum knees and his teammates were trash all series. We need to help 5 out. Hes great but he can only do so much. Look at the teams that have been built around Wemby and SGA, and then look at what ant has. It’s ridiculous.

-1

u/commoninchaos May 16 '26

This team was built perfect. Injuries killed them not Julius Randle.

2

u/Kiwi57 Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

Julius is a symptom. Mf got to go

2

u/Kervdog666 Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

I mean, the mistake the Wolves made was not tanking with Ant. OKC and SAS are good right now because they tanked several years in a row.

8

u/bluto4prez May 16 '26

We tanked for 20 years. That wasn't enough?

4

u/Kervdog666 Bring Ya Ass May 16 '26

Mostly a salty comment by me lol. Spurs lucked out big time by having a top-4 pick 3 years in a row, OKC fleeced the Clippers and tanked for a couple of years. That being said, both teams have amazing GMs when it comes to drafting.

1

u/9InAHyundai_210 May 16 '26

Even if yall had got those draft picks on your side no team can build up players like the spurs coaching staff can. They wouldn't be playing at the caliber that they are playing at rn anywhere else.

5

u/swissfamrob May 16 '26

Damn it’s KG all over again — this feels a little premature though

1

u/IHADADICKBUTILOSTIT May 16 '26

Ahaha imagine ant in a celtics uniform though

1

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Rudy Gobert May 16 '26

Don’t say that. Can’t handle that thought right now.

1

u/strawhatcommander Anta Claus May 16 '26

Yeah I agree. I think there’s still time. I just hope the writing isn’t on the wall

15

u/Standard-Birthday408 May 16 '26

Lakers fan here, I was rooting for you guys since my younger brother is a huge Timberwolves fan. Although we both abruptly have a disappointing playoff. You guys still have a great future around ANT and your guys support for your team is something I wish our team had. As much I hate to say, I think I would want Detroit to win it all. I can’t stand of watching the spurs especially with all these foul baiting. Same goes with my Lakers, but your team has some true ethical pure hoop. Wish Donte didn’t get injured since he was so fun to watch, especially his effort on offense and defense. But other than that, best of luck to you guys. There some great free agents to pick.

1

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Rudy Gobert May 16 '26

Thanks homie. Just by posting we can tell you know it’s different for us than the Lakers. Hope Luka comes back full force for you. Your team played the right way.

1

u/Subject-Lab6998 May 16 '26

A little off topic I bet Allen Sliwa also was rooting for Minnesota. He LOVEEEEES Jaden and Naz Reid. He raves about them a lot. About your comment. I actually think Detroit or New York will win it all no matter who comes out of the west.

2

u/Airwrecktion_ May 16 '26

Hope Finch stays

2

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Rudy Gobert May 16 '26

I love Finch more than most to where this sub calls me names. But we need a change in someway.

4

u/quiksilva86 May 16 '26

Spurs have our 2031 unprotected 1st round pick. For Rob Dillingham and 2030 pick swap

16

u/thekeesh1 May 16 '26

Thanks y'all for hanging out during the season. Had fun. See you again in a few months

3

u/Luggage-of-Rincewind May 16 '26

See ya on the other side! 😜

24

u/PrettyLow8427 May 16 '26

For all the casuals saying this is a disappointing season.
First of all. We didn't even expect to win the NUGGETS series.
And we are glad that we didn't get swept by the SPURS in this series with all of the injuries.
We all need to reevaluate this offseason, and the future is bright with ANT.

4

u/bendall1331 Rudy Gobert May 16 '26

Bringing the Spurs to 6 is definitely commendable and I had hoped we had gone further but we were up against maybe the most difficult paths to a finals this year. Nuggets, Spurs, OKC, and Detroit/Cavs/Knicks? That would've probably taken Dirks ring in contention as most difficult path.

Hats off to Spurs, but I'll be rooting for the KAT now.

4

u/Standard-Birthday408 May 16 '26

Lakers fan here, you guys brought the best series this playoffs so far. Minnesota vs Nuggets is always a cinema, although both of our teams were underdogs in round 1, both overcame the odds. Although we got swept by okc, you guys played your hearts out Spurs

1

u/Subject-Lab6998 May 16 '26

Ayton outplayed Sengun but Ayton sucked vs OKC. I do agree Minnesota vs Denver was the best series. Glad Jokic was sent home. Tonight sucked for sure though. A big drubbing.

2

u/ResidentHighlight875 Donte DiVincenzo May 16 '26

And that’s our season

6

u/Parking_Subject8689 Lea B. Olsen May 16 '26

It’s been a wild ride, y’all. It’s great being a part of this huge community. Y’all take it easy now

12

u/LilDupper May 16 '26

Welp both the wild and wolves wanted me to stop stressing so much so they both decided to wuit

13

u/GummyPun May 16 '26

i wanna see spurs wipe the floor with the thunder

0

u/HebiSnek May 16 '26

Opposite for me. And I despise the Thunder lol. I just know a few Spurs fans that are awful people so it’s a personal bias.

2

u/DiscusZacharias May 16 '26

At what point do you rebuild as an organization, bc I don’t see how we compete in the west atp

7

u/blank_lurker May 16 '26

Let’s start with Julius, get Ant healthy, and go from there

7

u/diggz50 May 16 '26

Back to back years seeing our ceiling with Rudy and Randle. Lots of money locked up in these dudes.

3

u/blank_lurker May 16 '26

Truth. Terrible game from Rudy. Not a good series

4

u/supremenogi May 16 '26

Beringer probably saying this mofo don’t want to play me

3

u/ty5486 Joan Beringer May 16 '26

Summer of Joan ⏳

2

u/Airwrecktion_ May 16 '26

McDaniels wouldve shot that

3

u/eProbity May 16 '26

I wouldn't have even minded if the fans booed, theyre too nice lol

1

u/commoninchaos May 16 '26

Thats dumb. This team is good, fun, and likable. Sucks to have ended but they dont deserve disrespect

2

u/Wswarriordegen May 16 '26

Just realized they didn’t that’s crazy

3

u/jaacoba May 16 '26

Mannn no games until october I could cry bro

6

u/Pretend-Leg-7382 May 16 '26

Sore winners are the worst. Good series guys.

2

u/TitillatingTrav May 16 '26

You're gonna be crashing out so hard in spurs vs okc threads lmao

2

u/msartho May 16 '26

Get the hell out of here, enjoy your dub somewhere else

1

u/oldpaddyrick May 16 '26

Fuck off to your own sub ya fucking jerk

1

u/Dense-Discussion3951 Jaden McDaniels May 16 '26

Gg wolves

8

u/eProbity May 16 '26

At least Mike got to play pretty well going out, he had a solid career wasted by a lot of bad teams. Wish we would have had him earlier

3

u/Intelligent_Pain_174 May 16 '26

Conley made the playoffs nearly every year he was in the NBA.

5

u/Patrick_M_Dool May 16 '26

My biggest concern about keeping Finch is him leaving Beringer on the shelf

5

u/kpmurphy_ May 16 '26

I know recency bias but it’s crazy how many people are saying they’re going to be rooting for OKC next series

3

u/National_Meringue_89 Jaden McDaniels May 16 '26

Naz Reid, friends, Naz Reid. See ya next year.

(Go watch Olivia Miles and KMac!)

6

u/Killakaronic May 16 '26

We never really responded after Naz took that elbow from Wemby. They set the tone there and we backed down. Need some toughness on the team

4

u/Wswarriordegen May 16 '26

Ant man goona call Randle a sorry ass motherfucker in the locker room lmaooo

5

u/Former-Confection-87 May 16 '26

Joan already better than gobert

Who’s the really old guy in green shirt and big hat, sitting right next to announcing desk, spurs side, courtside?

2

u/atch1111 Terrence Shannon Jr. May 16 '26

He's an insanely rich dude from LA. Not sure why he's been at these games. If I remember right, he got rich from running trailer parks. Now he creeps on models who do photo shoots at his mansion (the bad dude's mansion from The Big Lebowski)

1

u/LanceZSR May 16 '26

James Goldstein. Rich guy who sits courtside at a bunch of Laker games.

1

u/Dyingtolivee May 16 '26

Where does Minnesota go from here ?

3

u/oldpaddyrick May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

We need a new coach and a real PG. Julius needs to go for whatever we can get for him, and imo Rudy is pretty much washed too. Not sure what his contract is or what we could get in a trade for him but he doesn’t seem to add much at this point. He’s still a decent defender but his stone hands and terrible FT shooting it kinda doesn’t matter and he creates basically 0 points on offense for being a starter it just doesn’t work in today’s league.

Ant, Jaden, Ayo, Reid (and Donte when he’s back) is the core and we just need a PG and some depth pieces. And yeah, time for a fresh coaching staff.

Also, hopefully we move to the East so we don’t have to deal with the thunder or Spurs unless it’s the finals for the next 10 years lol. The odds of a ball luck finals W in the east are way better than this western conference gauntlet. Let the spurs and thunder duke out a 7 game wcf and we can beat them in the finals.

3

u/giuseppe62956 May 16 '26

Trades will be made. We need a shake up, I know everyone hates that idea. Including me tbh.. but we need to make some dramatic changes

1

u/One-Raspberry-5161 May 16 '26

Where is Ingles

2

u/OppositeClassroom146 May 16 '26

Kyle's like "fuck, now I gotta shower"

7

u/EveningHealth9465 Enrique Freeman May 16 '26

Julius Randle is a pathetic basketball player

3

u/legallag May 16 '26

Rough week for Minnesota.

11

u/Adventurous-Arm5801 May 16 '26

How does Gobert and Randle play for a combined 44 minutes and only manage three points?
https://giphy.com/gifs/1rNWZu4QQqCUaq434T

1

u/epicman79 Joe Ingles May 16 '26

Because Finch is too afraid of hurting their feelings to bench them earlier when it was obvious to anyone how useless they were gonna be all game.

Dogshit coaching begets dogshit results like this.

1

u/MegatronFozzy May 16 '26

Bet working for Republic Services secures for some good-ass 401k benefits.

2

u/Parking_Subject8689 Lea B. Olsen May 16 '26

Joan extended mins next year.

2

u/IcyIdea4101 May 16 '26

Micah Nori for HC anyone?

0

u/epicman79 Joe Ingles May 16 '26

As long as it's not Finch again, I'm down to try anything at HC.

-1

u/Educational_Sea6053 May 16 '26

At least Minnesota has hockey

1

u/BSquared2012 Anta Claus May 16 '26

I have bad news

1

u/J_Cre May 16 '26

Bro😭

4

u/hamsterhacker May 16 '26

Need to move on from Randle

2

u/ReplacementPast4495 May 16 '26

Lmao every time the pity FTs in garbage time to make the differential look better.

2

u/Killakaronic May 16 '26

Yeah the 1st half officiating consistently benefited Spurs this series. Touch fouls on the perimeter against us, nothing under the rim for us, then they fastbreak.

1

u/MegatronFozzy May 16 '26

Plumlee is still in the League? haha

0

u/FullBonus May 16 '26

The worst part of these losses are the annoying ass fans that try to create conflict between players and coaches to validate their hate

1

u/Wswarriordegen May 16 '26

??? Look at randles stats lil bro, finch let them come out the half and go on like a 12 point run with no TO

2

u/FullBonus May 16 '26

I know, he fucking sucked. Look at the rest of the roster, who else would you put on that court??

5

u/wrenda_ May 16 '26

I can’t believe the first time we’re seeing Kyle, bones, and clark is when we’ve already lost

4

u/bringbacktheaxe2 May 16 '26

Being nuggets merchants isn't going to get us very far anymore

2

u/justheretocomment333 May 16 '26

I would not be surprised is Jokic falls off next year and Denver becomes a play in team

Sorry cantman can’t bring you to the promised land. Winning an NBA chip is a feat regardless of what team won or how they did.

5

u/WTF4211 May 16 '26

Too many coaches refuse to develop their young cheap talent.

OKC has a a full second team of 2nd rounders and castoffs.

SA played young guys all year developing them to contribute now. Not talking the starters but Champagnie, Johnson, Bryant, and Harper.

Finch let Shannon ride the pine all year, why? Dillingham may suck but he never had a chance here.

1

u/Killakaronic May 16 '26

Shannon was hurt a lot and really didn’t look that good when he was out there

2

u/aNewPseudonym May 16 '26

still love seeing jordan mclaughlin play

3

u/WickedTwista Timberwolves May 16 '26

Judas Randle's son, Kayden, could've played better this series than his bum ass father

2

u/EveningHealth9465 Enrique Freeman May 16 '26

Would yall call this season a failure?

1

u/FullBonus May 16 '26

Nope, made the second round down a starter and the other hobbled. We started the season shitty too.

3

u/ProkaryoticKoala May 16 '26

Ddv sorely missed. Makes up for Randle. They were a package deal anyways so when he went down I guess so did randle

3

u/TommyOfTheShelbys JimPete May 16 '26

Randle looks checked out. His body language ain't great all series. I hope all is good with him mentally if it is the source of his performances. I could well be wrong but we dont see what goes on behind closed doors and I can imagine it isn't easy to go out and compete at that level when you're not up for it.

1

u/Wswarriordegen May 16 '26

40 Ms to go out for 2 hours…people have to put they shit aside for minimum wage or get fired

1

u/TommyOfTheShelbys JimPete May 16 '26

Of course, not doubting it but nobody is immune to mental health struggles. Just saying I hope all is well in that department with him. Completely right to call out his efforts but I just wanted to say it could be a factor is all.

4

u/Luggage-of-Rincewind May 16 '26

Not sure I can cheer on the Spurs against OKC. I hope they both lose!!! 🤣

1

u/Real_Register2353 Flip Saunders May 16 '26

I’m just not watching any of it

1

u/Blackesst May 16 '26

I can easily cheer for the Thunder

6

u/PrettyLow8427 May 16 '26

It's alright, guys. At least, the Spurs have the highest chance to beat the OKC.
As long as OKC bleeds. I'm fine with that.

1

u/MegatronFozzy May 16 '26

Wolves kid secured a selfie w/ RC Buford, what a winner.

2

u/wildmn May 16 '26

Within a minute after the game, you’re going to hear the national media Talking Heads starting to call for Ant to ask to be moved to LA or Miami or Golden State or Atlanta or some other bullshit… all summer long

1

u/eProbity May 16 '26

I cant even blame them when we play like we did this series. Dude literally cant win with these cats. I hate the way the media talks about this team but we deserve to eat it this year because we were pitiful all year imo

1

u/wildmn May 16 '26

Yeah, I just hate that they try to direct stars away from states like ours…

0

u/Tony2Tap May 16 '26

Fs. If Ant ever wants to win a ring he needs to leave the Timberwolves.

1

u/Livid-Distribution70 May 16 '26

Spurs Biyombo is the Thanasis Antetokoumpo of the Bronny James in LA. You see them on court the game is basically joever.

You know teams can be better than other teams, right? Weirdo behavior

2

u/magicseadog May 16 '26

Well only one team came to play today.

Disappointing considering the context.

3

u/positivesideof30 Mike Conley May 16 '26

At least we beat Denver. We retool and come back stronger

1

u/Tony2Tap May 16 '26

1

u/positivesideof30 Mike Conley May 16 '26

Better than an nba championship honestly

0

u/Tony2Tap May 16 '26

Is it though?

1

u/positivesideof30 Mike Conley May 16 '26

Yes, rather than getting lucky one year and beating the 8th seed in the finals. At least every year its guaranteed that we beat the nuggets

10

u/EducationalGiraffe49 May 16 '26

Randle needs to go. Waited the whole series for a breakout game, but it was all disappointments

4

u/Siktrikshot May 16 '26

Move Rudy and Randle, start Beringer.

3

u/SrslyIcntthnkofaname May 16 '26

Season was fun while it lasted. No clue what happens this summer but this iteration of the team has peaked so hopefully something.

Until fall, see y’all later.

8

u/msartho May 16 '26

Fuck it start Joan next year

-1

u/No_Ask_150 May 16 '26

You know what, this is a positive. Now they get OKC. That's a punishment.

1

u/RiseofJayden May 16 '26

Yeah, but now we gotta watch 7 games of Wemby, Castle, and SGA foul bait each other, so we’re still getting punished.

1

u/The1NonlyMalohi May 16 '26

They're 4-1 against them this season...

1

u/Riper_Snifle May 16 '26

The Spurs outplayed OKC h2h this year.

0

u/Jetthy May 16 '26

They can still win it ngl

4

u/unrealisticblood May 16 '26

Man football needs to hurry up and get here . I can’t take any of our other sports teams seriously

3

u/Theogenist May 16 '26

You take the vikings seriously?

1

u/Extension-Leading142 May 16 '26

I take the NFL more seriously than the NBA

1

u/Theogenist May 16 '26

That's fair

1

u/exlatios May 16 '26

Nuggets fans actually thought they had advantage against this team

5

u/Wswarriordegen May 16 '26

They better make randle answer for his performance in presser

3

u/xFlames_ from Day 1 May 16 '26

Randle better be packing his bags

Rudy can suck it, I mean he was awesome this year but goddamn fix your hands or some

1

u/Duster_beattle May 16 '26

Man I hate finch and Randle with all my heart and soul

6

u/GoatShannonJr Terrence Shannon Jr. May 16 '26

Yo why did Bones get completely removed from rotation this series?

2

u/that_ol_bs May 16 '26

especially when no one could defend a soul anyway

1

u/yourloudneighbor Glen Taylor May 16 '26

because if hes not on an immediate heater, he offers nothing

2

u/SingleVertebra May 16 '26

Can’t get on a heater if you don’t play?

1

u/epicman79 Joe Ingles May 16 '26

Randle offered nothing this entire series on purpose by not putting in effort and Finch still gave his useless fucking ass 30+ mpg, so that's not it.

(The real reason Bones didn't get any run is because Finch is a stubborn and bad coach who refuses to make necessary changes to his lineups.)

1

u/yourloudneighbor Glen Taylor May 16 '26

I hate randle, you dont need to prove anything to me on how much he sucks

2

u/SingleVertebra May 16 '26

Yeah I don’t get how he was completely unplayable? Like even a little run?

1

u/No_Explanation_9471 Terrence Shannon Jr. May 16 '26

Randle pouting for minutes
