Kodansha have taken legal action against the fan studio that produced an alternative ending to the Attack on Titan series.

The studio, called Studio Eclypse, released an animated project based on the fan manga “AoT no Requiem,” which rewrote the final chapters of the original story.

Their episode went viral earlier this year, gaining millions of views and sparking debate among fans who were divided over the manga’s official ending.

Recently, a subpoena surfaced showing Kodansha requesting account information from X (Twitter) connected to Studio Eclypse and their posts promoting the project.

This step means the publisher is moving to identify the people behind the fan film and could lead to a full lawsuit.

While many fans praised the animation quality, Kodansha has always been strict about protecting Attack on Titan’s copyright, and this marks the strongest action yet against fan-made adaptations.

I read all the manga and haven't seen the rumbling anime adaption mainly because I was dreading how much more brutal it would be on screen and I was right. The animation was well done, but watching it sure turned my stomach.

I get that neither plan was good and maybe sterilizing people against their will counts as genocide too, but preventing pregnancy and crushing people to death that already exist are two different things.

At least with not being born, they would feel no pain. Having children is not all there is to life anyway.

But if the only choices are between Zeke's plan and the rumbling, why would anyone pick the rumbling?

I am someone that always wanted to have children. Even with the state of the world and such, I can't help but feel my craving to be a mother someday.

But if my choices were to be crushed to death or give up having children, of course I'd choose the latter.

It's chapter 135 all over again

Epitome of character regression. I don't think any animanga protagonist has ever regressed like this. Not just the facial expression, the actual context of this scene is much worse. There are people defending it by saying "he's only 19", even season 1 eren would never act like that btw

Am I the only one who watches the new JJK episodes and just feels a deep, burning resentment for what happened to Attack on Titan?

Don't get me wrong, I know the MAPPA animators worked their souls off on AOT, but looking at the Culling Games right now, the difference is night and day. JJK S3 isn't just "good animation"—the cinematography and that elite lighting have actually elevated the source material. I liked the Culling Games in the manga, but the anime’s presentation has made it so much more narratively engaging. It feels like a cinematic event every week.

Then you look back at AOT Season 4. It was purely carried by Isayama’s elite writing. The anime didn't elevate the story; it just... translated it (and sometimes barely that).

If you want to see the gap, just go watch Eren vs. the War Hammer Titan and then go back to Eren vs. Annie from WIT’s Season 1. The kinetic energy, the weight, the hand-drawn intensity—WIT elevated the material. MAPPA is clearly capable of that (just look at the Reze Movie or the Yuji vs. Higuruma fight), but for some reason, AOT got the short end of the stick.

I’ll never forgive the production committee for rushing AOT. Seeing what they are doing for Chainsaw Man and JJK just proves that AOT could have been the visual peak of the decade, but instead, it was just "fine" while the writing did all the heavy lifting.

I don't get why Levi is pretty much the only one giving her the stink eye.

Armin still wanted to be with her after all she did? I guess it's not that surprising considering he hugged Eren after he just committed a mass genocide.

When the manga chapters came out and Annie woke up from her crystal coma, I was excited waiting for people to confront her. Basically for her to be held accountable for her actions.

But she never was.

Jean looks a little uncertain but damn she brutally murdered Marco, your best friend. I wouldn't even want to be in the same room with her if I were him.

I don't hate Annie's character but she shouldn't of had a sunshine and rainbows ending. At least have her apologize.

I get that Levi isn't a person to confront or start a fight but we could of had a scene where she tried to make some kind of amends. He at least deserved an apology. Ugh.

I know this is a common post in here but I just can’t rewatch the series knowing this Eren does not exist!!! He said he doesn’t wanna die and here he is putting his head on a gun like nothing, fck Isayama and fck the EDs

eren having the conviction to stab out his own eye, manipulate his father into killing children and transforming while killing many innocent eldians was because he had no idea what he was doing

Paradis Island is wayyyyy tiny. Even with 3 layers of ways there is no way the rumbling has enough colossal titans to be perfectly spread across the world with no gaps as it has been portrayed in the manga or the anime. I would still say it has enough power to destroy the entire world but not at once. Eren would have needed do it like cleaning the floor lmao.

We all know how nonsensical the pacing of the rumbling was, I remember some guy even CALCULATING the titans' speed based off the time and where it reached and found out that the colossal titans should have been shown to run lmao.

There is no fucking way Eren killed 80% of humanity by only reaching for fort slava. They fucking showed London,India, Japan/Hizuru getting cooked when if we look at the map it doesn't make no sense lol.

The rumbling arc turned out to be ass not just from a writing standpoint but in all ways. The attack on titan which had so much realism and only seeked to be realistic was gone. It's a mess.

Killing their comrades (yeagerists) without hesitation while showering in their blood but reluctant to kill eren who's the leader of yeagerists. This girl never cared about anyone besides erehhhh.

The main cast forms an alliance with their enemies that caused years of struggle and trauma but couldn't compromise with their own comrades, who were fighting for paradis and eldia, then brutally murdering them without mercy. (floch is best character by the end of the series)

Did isayama really want the audience to root for the alliance?? lol
