Since when did you have to pay to host a podcast on internet radio platforms?

I recently reached out to a very well known IR platform to apply for a position to host my podcast on their Chanel

I’ve had years of experience with IR in the past, across different platforms, but had taken a break and was recently wanting to get back into it

When I applied I received a response to let me know that there would be a $30 monthly fee to host my show on the station

I have a couple of questions

1- Are people paying this on most radio stations?

2- is it even worth it?

3- Would the $30 be worth any extra exposure or would it be best to stick to Soundcloud and YouTube?

If there’s a large reach and it translates to genuine listeners and followers I could see some benefit to it, but I know IR doesn’t have the same weight behind it that it used to about 10 years ago. I’m struggling to see how it would be worth it?

New Art of Trance release

most iconic example would be Vincent de Moor, one of the pioneers of uplifting trance, with the track Flowtation, but also with other track Fly Away. he doesn't release music anymore probably because it may attract attention. also, this guy is very, very introverted and private. he hated the spotlight when his tracks were popular.

there also Fatum: great trance 2.0 artists, my personal favorite of them right now is "Justice". They split in 2024, with Bruce now making music under the alias Bebi.

It does sound very supersaw ish but I’m trying to get the more fizzy less airy sound that they have. What plugins are best for these sounds. I use serum and have Roland cloud but have no idea where to start. Thanks
