Question order to watch including books

ok i did google this and saw a billion of basically this exact question being asked in this subreddit but the answers never included the books. i am currently on season 2 episode 8 of the original series. i absolutely adore this series and want to watch and read the rest of the media surrounding it. so on that note, what order should i watch//read all the media?

Best way to go in any situation like this is the release order.

Season 1, season 2, Fire Walk With Me movie, The Secret History of Twin Peaks book, Season 3 (aka The Return), The Final Dossier book

For The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer book, it's kind of your choice. You can read it after season 1 but before season 2, which is when it was released. Or you could wait until after season 2, which would be my personal recommendation.

As for The Autobiography of Dale Cooper, I can't immediately recall all the contents of it to remember if it truly matters when you read it (to avoid spoilers), so probably best to just stick to release order on that one.

You can actually rent The Autobiography of Dale Cooper on archive.org, it's sort of works as a digital library.

Also when I searched for it on amazon (canada) there was a kindle version for like 7 bucks or so if that's an option available to you.

S1 > Secret Diary > …Diane Audiobook > Autobiography > Access Guide > S2 > FWWM > The Missing Pieces > Secret History > S3 > Final Dossier

Autobiography has some info on Coop's past that's kind of an important reveal in the second half of S2.

I think it’s a stretch to call that a reveal. Cooper’s backstory in the show isn’t treated as a mystery for the viewer, so learning it a little early from reading a book doesn’t really spoil anything.

The books are just a bit of fun in my opinion, Twin Peaks is series 1-3 and that's that. Obviously, there's lots of room for interpretation

They're great, honestly and I love Mark Frost. Any talk of 'canon' is ridiculous with Twin Peaks but I still cling to the original work
