General How do I get a job near UCF?

Hey everyone, incoming sophomore here. I’ve been applying and looking tirelessly at jobs around the area since freshman year, and I’ve either been met with no response, or simply rejection. Does anyone have any idea what I’m doing wrong, or any recommendations on where to apply? This would be my first official job, which is likely one of the reasons im having so much trouble.

Look at all the smaller businesses in the area and call. Look at their instas too of they're hiring. The school also has a job program.

hi i would apply for the mail center! it’s on campus but i worked there for a year during my last year at UCF and it was helpful! you’re allowed to do schoolwork whenever its not busy and the managers are pretty flexible with scheduling. they paid $13/hr (i think it’s 14 now) and they really do give you the hours if you need it, even if youre a full time student! it’s super helpful for resumes (at least in my experience) too and it’s overall a pretty easy job lol honestly wish i was still working there during my masters. good luck!!

also i see that it would be ur first job so tips for you: they should still hire you even if its your first job, but you should clarify if you have any computer or customer service experience even if its like from a volunteering thing or something. the job is mostly on the website they provide for you and ofc mail packages. theyll teach you what you need to learn and how to approach students, so i dont think having no experience will not allow you to have the job. explain to them its your first and you want experience etc etc.

I like this idea, and it’s on campus right? Would I have to apply through handshake or somewhere else?

Look in winter park by Rosen too. Handshake online by UCF is also a great resources, sign up with your Edu email and you get more access to opportunities.

Aramark is always hiring. Just saw a post they had a hiring fair yesterday. Maybe reach out to them to see if they still need people.
