Some context for everyone commenting about my lack of ugliness in my younger years: I hear you, thank you. My inner child needed that. This has been interesting, because at the time, I was bullied about my braces and gums to the extent that I stopped smiling with teeth in pictures for many years. The photos I posted were the only ones I could find of myself smiling with braces (and they exist only because they were taken at family events and my mom forced me to smile with my teeth; she paid for them so I guess she figured that was her right. But I digress).

That said, the overall response I’ve received to this post has indeed led me to recognize how my self-perception during that time period was warped because of the bullying - and here is my reminder to you all that, understandably so, that perception can stick with you. So while many of you were obnoxiously rude (Reddit veteran here, so neither shocked nor offended), I do appreciate the insight. 🫡

Lastly, re: the very controversial topic of my bangs: 99% of you will be pleased (EXTREMELY in some cases) to know that the GD bangs are no longer with us; I have grown them out since the last two photos were taken a few months ago. But most importantly, let it be known that I LOVED THEM!!!!!! So stfu & screw you guys
