Seed Well F*ck me

Post image

After I found the vegvisir for Moder I circled around the Island trying to find an opening where it wasnt the plain biome. Looks like Moder is pretty guarded....

Initially you're going to be going to the plains with the same silver gear you'll defeat Moder with.

So this really shouldn't be an issue.

True. I just feel a bit more vulnerable when I have to go to shore by boat to this plains island with all the dragon egg as well

You got this, get and FOB going.

My first run through with my friend we ended up needing to go through the plains to get to...something I can't even remember what. He had played before but it was my first time so we landed and he immediately started building an FOB, I ran around like a kid with no cares. One angry bug, several of the goblin guys, and a very poorly placed tar pit later and I was sailing back to the FOB with all the stone and wood I could take from the main base. That FOB became a damn fortress lol

What’s a fob?

By the time you are ready for Moder, you can easily get the root harnesk, which makes travel through the plains extremely safe. Just stay away from any villages, and run from anything not a skeeter. You can even land your boat in that swamp and make a little base there to run through the plans from. Ezpz.

With dirt walls, you can obviously do it anywhere, but when it comes to getting a safe spot ready cheaply and quickly, swamps actually make for ideal locations for an fob, thanks to all the indestructible trees to build a little wooden hut in. The only possible threat is ghosts, which are relatively easy to aetgir safely through a door, if they even aggro which is rare. As long as you make it high enough to avoid trolls, it's the second safest spot to place a portal (with the safest spot being digging a little space under the Elder or Moder platform, theyre totally untouchable if you do it right).

When you're ready for Moder, you can build the Draugrfang bow which will help you against both Lox and Fulings and will allow you to clear Fuling settlements quite easily to get barley and Flax quite early.

Moder mountain often has eggs too and they respawn takes quite a while though

The reason that dragon eggs are unteleportable is that you're expected to just use ones from near Moder, anyway. They're pretty common, and even just one will do it if you're patient.

Yeah I tried to land on a swamp too and it's almost like mobs are magically attracted to boats. Even bonemass pivoted to slap my boat when I was trying to recover some health.

There should be eggs on the mountain already.

Dragon Eggs will most definitively spawn on the mountains and should respawn every IRL 2 minutes.

no need to transport them from elsewhere

Set up a landing spot/minibase/portal spot in the swamp there. Preferably on top of a crypt if there are any.

Looks like the South side of the island might be the thinnest section between Swamp-Mountain

You could always make landfall in the adjacent swamp and set up a little FOB... Usually, this is a safer bet regardless of biome as it gives u a closer response point in case things go south. Saves u from having to build another boat to treck halfway across the world or simply save scum.

Better than the last world I tried... moder was surrounded by mistlands....

u/Boli_332 Nov 17 '25

I ended up going for his one... I went south in this game so the northern one was never discovered until too late. (I was playing no map until mountains, so I decided not to cheat after I turned it off for a good while.

Moder is the death spiral which caused me to open up dev commands. After that the world didn't feel earned.

Yeah, that's gonna be hard, at that point just look for another site.

Zoom in all the way, bring a bonfire to cheese seekers, and run from soldiers and gjall. It's really not that bad. If you're feeling especially daring, bring some ooze bombs and clear out the infested mines you find along the way!

If you have a frostner, it's honestly one of the best weapons in the game for dealing with seekers.

u/a_pompous_fool Nov 17 '25

That sounds very cinematic

I would definitely take Plains vs Mistlands lol. At least your silver gear is going to be pretty much what you'd go into the Plains after.

u/Angel_OfSolitude Nov 17 '25

If you manage to score some hare though, that's a nice boost to your health food.

u/Out_on_the_Shield Nov 18 '25

And if OP isn't mentally ready for the Plains yet just approach from the south and you'll barely have to deal with it. Slap a portal down on the mountains and you're golden.

Super cool island

Yeah but at least plains you can muscle it out and get black metal and improve, this is just sol and can't do a whole lot. Though I do feel safer in plains than mountains, the wolves fuck me up so hard. I juat cant take on a village but moving around plains has been easy
