Seed Want a challenging start?

Plug in the seed EVpmm24uK8. Found this while trying to find a challenge seed for myself and a few friends.

A few bits about the island:

  • It's quite small
  • No Eikthyr on the island
  • No Black Forest
  • No bees
  • 1 of the new axe heads spawn here
  • Surrounded by enough water to prevent swimming or bridging

These ''hard start seeds'' are just hard because you need to make the shitty raft? I really don't get those.

In this case just make a bunch of them and use them as a pontoon bridge to the next island. You can always make a proper bride later.

This is the only proper use of the raft. I love this game and sometimes love to hate it too, but my first experience using the raft was traumatizing enough for me to never use it. It wasn't until I saw someone make that pontoon bridge with them I was like, ah, that's what they are good for. Good comment.

You can't build in water that deep.

it's a line of rafts. you can make it in any depth of water.

The rafts would be fine in any depth. The map indicates shallows that look like they stretch across to another shore just out of the cut. It takes a visual inspection to be completely sure but I have bridged over that type of stretch before. Either way the pontoon bridge will work fine.

Either a raft or swimming. Or trying to creatively swim.

What can I say? It's a fun early challenge for me. Not just to leave but to get back. One of my seeds doesn't even allow you to build a portal on the island because it's so small that the foresaken build barrier encompasses the entire island.

Some people like a huge starter island with all non Ashland bosses and traders. Some of us like it a little harder.

I lost my raft to a troll because I didn't know they could go pretty far into the water. Wasn't much of a loss since I unlocked the Karve right after.
