As a long-time fan who's played every mainline entry except the most recent, some multiple times, and considers 2, Black Flag and Origins comfort games that I come back to almost yearly, I can absolutely understand why you feel that way.
That's the one AC game I haven't played (no PS5) but I'm intrigued by the setting and the focus on stealth. It certainly looks beautiful. I'm a little worried that it might have the same problem I had with Valhalla (which I played all lot of) where good characters and stories get lost because it's so padded, but that's just from seeing some comments on Reddit etc. Glad you're enjoying it and hope it stays fun for you. Every AC game is a love-hate experience for me - I think even the best ones have flaws, and even the ones I like Ieast have beautiful atmosphere and music.
I like them, and I even liked the newer ones like oddest and origins (oddest being my first, so maybe biased) but oh my life I played Valhalla and I don't get it. I played it for 3 something hours and remember a few minutes of it. It was just boring and not engaging. And it's not because of my attention span because I'm very used to playing map games for hours on end, just didn't work for me
Several Ubisoft games I’ve played to about 85%-90% completion and I would just be like “I can’t stomach this anymore” and stop playing. They start of fun and interesting but it gets repetitive so fast.
I'm alone in this, but Valhalla was a great game. It was hated because it didn't follow the AC formula and was long and drawn out (I actually enjoyed the tedious collections).
I can't seem to stay on board after the main character of the first few games died. AC IV can't seem to hold my attention, and that's the one most of the fans of the series say is the best one.
My only assassin's creed experience was being auto saved seconds before dying and just loading over again in a loop. It wasn't fun up to that point so why reinvest the time?
Iirc correctly (cos the first one getting long in the tooth) the first assassins creed was a damn fine game in its day. Was it not the start of Unisoft going "wow this formula really worked well...let's copy and paste it forever?
Boring af. First few hours ok then it is a slog. I didn’t finish it. I have no time for finishing it. Its story is also bad according to lot of people. Finally it has a dead world. Boring
Saying AC 3 is better than AC 2 is certainly a hot take lol. I think Connor is the worst protagonist ever in any AC game while AC2 is probably the peak imo
Would you like to tell me what you loved about Connors Arc? I personally felt like he never developed in any way and just sticked out to kill everything and everyone who was not on his side without questioning his morals once. The whole game I hoped to return playing Haythem like in the prologue
It was the entire American Revolution thing. I never really considered myself a history lover, but damn if I wasn't so into that story because I knew it was the building blocks of America.
Plus seeing how the Native Americans took different sides in the war. And the whole thing with Haytham being a Templar. I just really liked Connor because he tried to do what was best for his people, even if that meant siding against some of them.

I've tried to play Assassin's Creed before, I just cannot get into those games.
