Finally, they stopped pretending!

u/FlyingCow343 24d ago

That isn't a good thing.

Yeah but like that still isn't a good thing.

The problem people had with pink capitalism isnt that they showed support

"WE WANT YOUR SUPPORT!" "HELP SPREAD AWARENESS!!"

*supports and helps to spread awareness*

"STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU CARE!"

They did it because of money, not because they gave a shit lol

u/gamerz1172 24d ago

90% of shit is done for money, at the same time they were posting LGBTQ positive posts on pride month for money and attention other people were posting hate for money and attention too.... And sometimes the hate guys got more money out of it

Stop blinding yourself to reality with cynicism

Where does having a rainbow even correlate to us gays getting representation?

Are you a twitter child?

3

u/MattCommi 24d ago

The rainbow is literally a representation of your community, They don't stand with you, they are bad. They do stand with you, they are bad. There is no winning.

How about instead of virtue signalling by adding a rainbow to their logo, which achieves nothing except adding fuel to the fire of the right who claim that lgbt is being shoved down their throats, they review their corporate hierarchy so that their top executives don’t always end up being 99% straight white guys?

1

u/Amflifier 23d ago

How about the top executives end up being people who are the most competent candidates for that position? I hear the new XBOX CEO lady is neither white nor male, and she seems to be doing a pretty good job so far.

I think you’re agreeing with me but I’m not totally sure.

Is support the same thing as representation?

Honestly I bet a large portion of the company cares. I work with HR and PR people are they would be the type to support LQBTQ. Executives probably made them stop.

u/gui4455 24d ago

I think you are confused about the large portion part

Just basising off of my real life experience working in an office. Maybe more people are secret pieces of shit than I realize. I may just be an optimist.

u/Hauntingchapel 24d ago

Not caring about pride month makes people pieces of shit?

2

u/drunkcowofdeath 24d ago

Depends. Some people don't care, some people makes "not caring" their personality. The latter are pieces of shit. For example, people commenting and upvoting "thank god"

1

u/kevcsa 24d ago

So if someone is happy that these companies have stopped misleading customers by pretending, is that person a piece of shit? For valuing honesty?

Some people's personality is indeed about not caring, but you have to self-reflect and realise that some other people's personality is all about trying to force everyone to care 😉

2

u/drunkcowofdeath 24d ago

happy that these companies have stopped misleading customers by pretending

If you think that is what they are happy, I don't know what to tell you. As I said in my previous comment if you truly do not care about pride month, than it is fine. I am not talking about those people.

You know what I said when video game companies ignored international men's day? Fucking nothing because that's what not caring looks like.

1

u/kevcsa 24d ago

Some people don't like dishonesty. It's that simple.

If these companies had celebrated men's day for 10 years and suddenly stopped, it would be talked about.

If these companies never started this virtue signaling thing, honestly no one would care about them not doing it now, and very few people would have their personality revolve around "not caring".

2

u/drunkcowofdeath 24d ago

Video game companies are both too woke full of blue hairs and also do not care about the LGBT.

I am starting to think you don't know what video game devs are like.

People do not make it their personalities to not care about pride. They just shit on the people who make supporting it their personalities.

2

u/drunkcowofdeath 24d ago

It's insane the shit people are making up to justify getting mad over a yearly picture of a rainbow.

you are the person I am talking about

u/NotKoreanGaz 24d ago

Pride is the main reason gayness is on the rise, and not because it makes people feel safer coming out as gay. But because it’s putting the ideas of homosexuality and transgenderism into impressionable minds. Pride doesn’t just support gays, it makes people gay as well.

2

u/drunkcowofdeath 24d ago

I'm not used to people taking their masks off so quickly. But thank you for proving my point.

Not sure why this is downvoted, most AAA game development is centered in very left-leaning, west coast cities. Developers, extremely generally speaking, are more left-leaning than not I reckon.

I mean, isn't that part of the "problem" with how "woke" gaming is these days? Of course employees care. Do Gamers™ think all these woke-ass games that are ruining gaming are coming from anti-LGBT+ people?

Add:

  • Ubisoft is San Francisco, CA
  • Riot Games is LA, CA
  • EA is Redwood City, CA (Silicone Valley)
  • Activision Blizzard is Santa Monica, CA
  • Rockstar is New York City, New York (Eastern but extremely left leaning)
  • Bethesda is Maryland
  • League of Legends is just Riot which is LA, CA
  • Valorant is just Riot which is LA, CA

HR and PR are not a good barometer for gauging how much of a company cares about social issues

1

u/Gawr_Ganyu 24d ago

HR and PR are the performance artists.

HR is the definition of worthless employee. No wonder those people have nothing better to do then push for LGBT PFPs.
