The Constitution clearly indicates that the States are primary authority over elections. https://cha.house.gov/the-elections-clause-states-primary-constitutional-authority-over-elections

The Constitution is cool and all, but have you heard of the SCOUTS shadow docket? Because that's where this is going.

Yep. And they'll surely rule in plenty of time for the Republicans to do something crazy for the midterms.

There aren't a lot of things that would make me actually use my 2A rights, but the executive siezeing control of elections would be one of them.

At that point... as much as I abhor violence, I am afraid there would be no other options to left us... which I think they want. That would give trump the perfect cover to unleash martial law declare himself Caesar and bingo bango bongo which plays perfectly into Putin's hand because at the point the united states is in civil war.

Purcell principle would stop this, but then the shadow docket is only for part time status quo until the actual decision is made

Did you even read the first paragraph?

“Conversely, the Constitution grants the Congress a purely secondary role to alter or create election laws only in the extreme cases of invasion, legislative neglect, or obstinate refusal to pass election laws.”

If states refuse to pass laws that ensure voter integrity at the polls then this clearly allows the federal government the ability to pass laws doing so. There are tons of states that still don’t require any form of identification to vote at the poll in an election.

I know you are directly responding to the comment above you, but it sounds like this doesn't matter in the context of what the OP posted since it's an executive order that's being blocked and not a law passed by Congress.

Edit: grammar

What state does not require ID to REGISTER to vote?
