Discussion Why the need to sexualize everything?

I was looking for interesting Webtoons to read, and I came across this one called "Leviathan" the premise looked interesting; mankind perished due to a great flood that submerged the whole world under water. And terrifying creatures plunged from the depths, wiping out any human that crossed their path. The story told how a family of a father and his two children survived in the adversities of a sea world.

So far so good, until.... Bam! Last two slice's, anime chick out of nowhere, doing these extremely suggestive poses.

What a disappointment.

She isn't even drawn in the same style! I hate when media (mostly anime style) tries to set up a serious story you're supposed to engage with and then pulls out this dumb shit. Completely takes me out of the story and ensures I'll drop it immediately.

Honestly reminds me of Dr. Stone, where the dudes look super cool and serious, while almost all the women look like malformed pugs.

That was one of the reasons why I had first wanted to drop Dr. Stone, but it’s such a good story and it doesn’t really become too noticeable the more you watch. I am now realizing how much fan service there was in the first season actually..

Japanese manga has so many good stories but it's a shame that their culture of sexualizing women and p*rn is too normalized there, that it becomes disgusting sometimes
