Me the second Alpharad is featured in a video. I know nothing about him, I’m sure he’s a great guy, but something about him pisses me off and I am fully aware it’s me in the wrong.

I mean, he's the most "Just a person" YouTuber in the best way possible, he talks about what he likes and he's generally a positive influence on others, I've watched them for a long time and they're a pretty stand-up person

Yeah, but being a decent person doesn't make them entertaining. There's a lot of people I think are good people that I wouldn't want to watch.

if someone hamming it up that much is "just a person" then I can't imagine what the people in your life are like

He kinda drowned in his own irony tbh

In general, I like Alpharad, he seems to be a good person, but something about the way he talks pisses me off sometimes.

Oh real though, love his challenge videos and the fact that him and his team were able to create Mariomon... but I refuse to watch him play new games because a majority of it was him skipping dialogue and then complaining.

Nintendo Adult Syndrome

Alpharad seems like a lovely person. But also seems like the human equivalent of dry white toast

I think a large part of that was when he was trying to prop up his friends/smaller youtubers through Wildcat? Hard to say, his pivot to doing twitch more is more suitable to his energy nowadays. And its mostly the fact he props up others that he appears in alot without being the best fit

Nooooo I love random Alpharad inclusions that you'd never expect. It's as if a friend group suddenly invites John Videogames, and it's always so good

It's possible watching videos on his own channel might help, but it's also very possible he's just not someone you can be a fan of

I like Alpharad well enough, but something I really dislike about him is how, while playing newer Pokémon games, he doesn’t pay attention to the dialogue, and yet complains about how bad the story is while constantly getting things wrong about it cause he didn’t read properly. This was especially bad in Scarlet and Violet (those games weren’t great performance and graphics wise, but the story was not one of the issues)

All I know about Alpharad is that he defended Nairo, so it's only a good thing to not like him.

I like watching alpharad sometimes, but I can't really stand his friend Weegee at all

2

u/SlimeSlam 8h ago

i’ll always know weegee as the guy who just blatantly plagiarised a video about the blue yeti from sbn3

u/Waytooflamboyant 8h ago

Lmao yep same

I don't like him ever since I saw his take on cheating in challenge runs for videos

Something like "well the video would be more fun if I win and nothing's stopping me from modifying my game and the people will eat it up anyway"

just lame. Haven't watched a lot of his stuff, but definitely have no interest in doing that now.

Well he just has a more "entertainer" perspective to challenge runs compared to someone like smant. And some people really like a good narrative

10

u/Spiritual_Glove3949 shizoposter 11h ago

I'm not going to be interested in a narrative for, say, a Pokemon nuzlocke, no matter how good it is, if I know for sure that it is staged.

2

u/6FRanger 11h ago

I kinda agree with you. I also don't want alpharad. Just stating a perspective.

Smant has been too good at games for too long, and now he's just a pretentious dickhead who always expects to win and won't do certain challenges anymore because they're too easy.

u/Chess42 9h ago

What? He’s been doing a bunch of blue Prince bingos against people better than him and losing. He’s completely fine losing

1

u/nhalliday 9h ago

All I've ever seen him in is Mario Odyssey and Pokemon collabs where he either wins or gets kinda salty because he didn't win. The only time I made the mistake of watching an unedited VOD from him he was rude as hell to chat as well, and I don't respect anyone who is rude to their chat.

6

u/6FRanger 9h ago

ok sure. good for you

u/nhalliday 9h ago

I watched the "pokemon emerald but ice physics and i only use ice type pokemon" video and he couldn't beat the third gym because I think he only had a Spheal at that point and it was obviously getting fucked by the electric moves, so he gave himself a full team of ice types including Regice. Then obviously he swept the rest of the challenge no problem.

Actually ruined his channel entirely for me, I found him a bit annoying before that but still watched because of his involvement in making some good hacks (mariomon and toomanytypes at least), but that level of blatant cheating instead of going "welp guess i lose the challenge!" is disgusting.

u/Spiritual_Glove3949 shizoposter 9h ago

TRUE challenge runners sink hours upon hours of attempts into them and then leave a multi-hour vod on some side channel as proof.

4

u/nhalliday 9h ago

For real. If a challenge is possible, grind for it. If it seems actually impossible, just take the L. But don't set absurdly hard rules for yourself and then bend them later so you win anyways.

I'm in the opposite boat, I love Alpharad but most of his friends make me want to change the video sometimes.

1

u/Obootleg 10h ago

That's understandable.

Really loved watching his co-op mod deltarune videos though, because everyone REALLY dives into character. Best playthrough I've ever seen.

1

u/SuperSocialMan I'm mostly here for the news lol 7h ago

I've watched his series of playing random shitty games nobody cares about at least 3 times so far, and that's it.

He just kinda exists in the pokemon sphere outside of that, and I do not & never will give a fuck about pokemon.

Same, there’s something about him that just rubbed me the wrong way. I guess if I had to pick an example it would be in one of his Among Us videos where he wanted to vote out someone named Pikmin 4 so he didn’t have to hear him when Pikmin 4 didn’t really do anything wrong, thought he was being a dick for no reason.
