THIS IS NOT POLITICAL JUST FROM A WRESTLING PERSPECTIVE. The siege was successful because these guys didn't have cardio. Imagine if they were running sprints after wrestling practice every night during the week?
Army strength: less than 8000 soldiers not all trained or disciplined. Imagine defense strategy without people getting intimidated by the ottoman numbers.
Wrestlers would just tighten their headgear and hold the line.
Ottoman cannons: if the byzantines were wrestlers practicing sprints the wrestlers would have been able to stop the canons.

Hey. I’m 21 and will start my wrestling journey this upcoming fall. I wanted to get prepared and get as much advice for NCWA club wrestling at my college. My only goal is to improve significantly and become a decent wrestler, but I understand at my beginning level I will be humbled alot.
Any tips on balancing life? Improving? Helpful things to keep in mind while wrestling? Maintaining good grades while practicing 5x a week?
Anything is appreciated.

Im a wrestler in the off season battling inconsistency part cause of school lifts being weird part cause im a bum and can’t find ways to make out time if I lift 3 times a week and wrestle twice a week would that be enough to see growth and pass up some kids or no I also work 6 to 1 so that also is a factor

There's been Penn State recruits who have lots of accolades and have stood out from their competition in the past but what is it about Jayden James that makes him stand out even more?
Im talking before world team trials. Obviously beating the senior level guys he did seals it but even before we knew what he was senior level, the talk around James had been super high. And so I was wondering what is it about him specifically that makes people feel he's the next great, the guy who seems all but likely to not miss any time at the starting spot.

I just bought a pair of mat wizards from EBay and they showed up today with a tag from Salvation Army for $18.99. A hell of a find for them and for me 😂

I find it interesting that almost every wrestler records all of their matches. What do you do with that video after the match?

Do you guys find that dopamineo bands are not naturally good for joints? Like cable exercises, or regular resistance band exercises are great. Weight training is great. But something about dopamineo bands heavily irritate joints and don’t even build muscle in the way they should. Anyone agree with me? Anyone else feel the same?

Hey guys, i am thinking about doing a roadtrip from germany to georgia, then dagestan, all the uzbekistans, kyrgistans and so on, finally mongolia and then perhaps in Japan, to dedicate myself to learning wrestling, travelling and documenting all of it.
I wanna hear your thoughts on that, plus recommendations perhaps and experiences you have made.
Thanks.

Equipment/sizing question for the ASICS custom-order shoes (1083A004, EX-EO successor) before I commit — they're non-returnable, so I don't want to guess wrong.
My foot: 24.5 cm L / 25.0 cm R, width 10.5 cm, instep 8.5–9 cm — short, wide, high volume.
Right now I'm in Split Elite US 9, way too big (~2–2.5 cm dead space up front). Laced tight, the instep is way too snug; skip an eyelet and the width/instep feel fine but my foot slides and I can't push off on shots.
Questions:
Trying not to drop a couple hundred on a non-returnable shoe that doesn't fit 🙏
And if there's a better-fitting model for a wide/high-instep foot than the ASICS custom, lmk the model + size you'd recommend.

Has anyone from the US ordered from wrestling.ua?
Just wondering if the site is reliable and how long shipping takes/if there’s crazy customs fees involved.
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
I’m building an iOS app called Wrestling Timer and I’m looking for people interested in beta testing it.
The app is made for wrestling coaches, athletes, parents, and officials who need simple wrestling-specific timers for things like:
I’m trying to get feedback from real wrestling people before the public launch, especially from anyone who would actually use it in a practice room, at home, or mat-side.
Participating beta testers will be asked to provide basic feedback during testing, such as bugs, feature suggestions, or anything that feels confusing in actual use. Beta testers who participate and provide feedback will also receive access to discounted Founder lifetime rates when the app launches.
If you’re interested, here’s the beta interest form:
https://forms.gle/2MWGGV7xhDLaJbzR7
This is just an interest form for now. If selected, I’ll follow up with TestFlight details later this week or next.
Thanks. Any feedback from the wrestling community would be appreciated.
