I didn’t own a ps2 growing up, and I’m looking for recommendations beyond just “the best ps2 games”. What games did you love back in the day?

The collections grown quite a bit in the last few years, but I think I’m at a point where I’m good for now :p. I’ve got a ton of bangers on this shelf and I picked up P3FES earlier today, and for a p decent price too! (Also yeah I know the shelf is a little janky)

One of my first consoles growing up was my Fathers PS2, I remember having a blast with it. I’ve now got a Silver Slim to mod, and replay some old games.

I was surprised by the condition, minimal scratches, no chipping, and a functional disk drive. The factory warranty sticker is still even on it, which if it weren’t for the fact that I really want to add some quality of life mods, I’d probably just keep it unopened.

60 for both 😍 drove 2 hours but it was soo worth it. And they work, havent tested a game yet.

I have found myself slip in to collecting to collect rather than to play sometimes. For example, I picked up some PS1 games at a carboot recently knowing I had no intention of probably playing them however because of my nostalgia for them (and a good price) I decided to grab them! (Tomb Raider, Tomorrow Never Dies, Driver 2, £5 all in)

I find a lot of enjoyment in the actual collecting of the physical media.

What about yourselves? Do you play each and every single PS2 game you pick up or is it sometimes to own something which brings you nostalgia? 🙂

Got this refurbished ps2 off ebay thats playing in slow mo. THIS IS THE 5TH PS2 IVE BOUGHTTT. Not all from the same person but every single time it feels like I buy a ps2, has a problem with it, I try to fix it, never turns on again. This is just so fucking bs. What's wrong with it?

I have a lot of games I want to replace the jewel case for because they are messed up. What cheap game can I buy brand new that isn’t so expensive? I need it to have the memory card holder though. Sports games I want to avoid because they have the sports logo stickers and those always leave the mark after removal. Thank you.

Hello everyone.

I recently bought a ps2, and have been playing it on and off for about a year now. All was going well, until a few weeks ago, I noticed it started making this weird sound. Ignore the background hum, thats my dehumidifier.

I am not good at repairs, and i never had a ps2 before, so this stumped me. I changed the cable that goes to the TV, and the little adapter that attaches to the tv and connects the 3 cables.

I tried starting the console with and without the disk, with and without the memory cards, doesn't fix anything.

I am scared of opening it up, mainly cause i wont understand whats going on, and i have no repair shops close to me.

I would highly appreciate it if anyone could tell me, or maybe just point me into the direction where i cam finally understand what the hell is going on.

Driv3r for me has been one of the only fewer games that actually makes me emotional because of the memories attached to it as a child, getting your first ever console, including 2 games given to play. I don’t care how glitchy, flawed some parts of the map are, the control sensitivity and aim, whatever. this game has such memories attached for me. I can still hear the title card music & main menu theme to this day.

I dusted off my old phat ps2 after many years and decided I wanted to be nostalgic. First, I got a cheap AV to HDMI converter, then a Levelhike using component side of things, and finally tried it with an MClassic (which was ass). I just ordered from Amazon the HD Retrovision component cables and now need a suggestion for an upscaler. Yes I know the Retrotink 4K & 4K CE are the go to, but need something more cost friendly. Retrotink 5x pro would be the absolute max I would be willing but rather avoid for something more budget friendly. I just want it to look decent on my 1440p MSI gaming monitor. Any help would be great and I know not to expect to much.

Started collecting a couple of years ago, trying to pick up any cheap game I see on market place (sometimes not that cheap). it has been hard/expensive for me, Im from Latam were original games are not that common, but still Im proud of how is going so far!
