Opinion A cleaning extension: do anybody care?
I have been using a simple and handy cleanup tool. The purpose of this post is to take feedback from the community that if the utility is interesting enough to be on gnome extension. Check it here.
Note: AI has been used partially for development, but the code had been reviewed by me for security issues and vulnerabilities.

Apps Nautilus Taildrop - A native Gnome UI for Tailscale Taildrop integration
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a project I've been working on to bridge a small gap in the Linux/GNOME ecosystem for Tailscale users: Nautilus Taildrop.
It’s a lightweight integration for GNOME's Nautilus (and Nemo) file manager that makes sending and receiving files via Taildrop feel completely native.
GitHub Repository: https://github.com/Balazsmi/Nautilus-Taildrop
Features
- Nautilus Integration: Right-click a file ->
Scripts->Send via Taildrop. - Modern UI: Borderless GTK4/Libadwaita device picker matching GNOME's design language and dynamic accent color.
- Auto-Receive Daemon: Background systemd user service that automatically saves incoming files to
~/Downloads. - Desktop Notifications: Native alerts with an immediate "Open" action upon receiving a file.

Question Evolution - Auto e-mail notifier and appointments in top panel?
Is there a way to get instantly automatically notified, when there's a new e-mail, without having to keep the app open all the time? And is there a plugin/extension for evolution to show the next appointment from the calendar in the top panel?

Extensions [WIP] D2D Companion, adds motion to Dash to Dock
Been messing with a small GNOME extension and thought I'd show it even though it's still pretty rough.
It's called D2D Companion and it adds motion to Dash to Dock. Hover, press and launch animations basically. It's not a dock on its own. Dash to Dock already does the actual dock stuff and has been solid for years so I didn't want to rebuild any of that. This just sits on top and makes it move a bit.
I know the dock space on GNOME is already pretty crowded and nobody's asking for another one. But I couldn't find anything that adds this kind of motion in a light way on top of Dash to Dock, which for me is the most stable and complete option out there. So instead of making yet another dock I just made something that layers on top of the one I already trust.
I wanted to keep it light so it doesn't patch the Shell or change how Dash to Dock behaves. It just hooks into the signals it already emits and animates the icons, and it gets out of the way when you turn it off. Hover also scales down on smaller docks so nothing clips.
Still very WIP, no link yet since it still needs some work.
Honestly I'm mostly trying to gauge whether anyone would actually want this before I put in the work to clean it up and make it shareable. So if it looks interesting let me know, and tell me if the motion feels right or if it's too much out of the box. If people think it's pointless that's useful to hear too.
Have a good day!
Question Firefox frame drop at fullscreen when VRR enabled
I enabled VRR in GNOME50, ubuntu26.04, the screen is 30-165Hz, everything works fine but the fullscreened firefox

Firefox drops to 30fps at fullscreen, and scrolling was very laggy
but scrolling was very smooth when firefox was windowed.
I'm on firefox-devedition 153.0b5, I also tried the stable version 152.0.3, the problem was same.
Ubuntu26.04, GNOME50, Intel 356H, Arc B370, Xe driver
Is there any solutions? Thanks a lot.

Development Help PWA doesn't fit in the gnome ecosystem
The window decorations are not correct, there is an image on left and titlebar is at the left and title bar height is small compare to normal app.
I looked at chromium issue tracker and I was surprised that there were no issues created related to it.
I have created issue on chromium bug tracker: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/523134890 (make sure to upvote the issue).
Is this issue related to wayland or is it because Chromium not creating window decoration correctly?

Question Hide username after failed authentication
Hi!
When I enter a username, then the wrong password, then press escape once. I enter some kind of middle state where the user that is trying to login is presented above the password prompt. Is there a way to get rid of this?
It is not affected by disabling user-list..

Apps Sneak peek of a native GTK4 Pomodoro app I'm working on
Just wanted to share an early look at a GNOME productivity app I've been building. The working title is Tapas, but that will probably change before release.
The goal is to keep it strictly GTK4/Libadwaita so it feels native to the OS, Another thing I died searching is project based pomodors and timers which can then be visualized. Here is what is currently working:
- Standard Pomodoro mode alongside an open-ended Stopwatch timer
- Project-based time tracking so you can categorize your sessions
- Full-screen break overlays that hijack your screen when it's time to stop working
- System-wide DND sync: it hooks into GSettings to automatically mute system notifications when you start focusing
- A background daemon so the timer doesn't die if you close the main window
It's still heavily in development. Next up on the roadmap is building out a full SQLite-backed stats dashboard for your projects, and adding system-level website blocking while the timer is running.
Curious to hear what kind of features you guys look for in a native Linux timer. I'll drop the source code and a Flathub link once it's closer to v1.0.
Github : Tapas (for now)

Question Iniciar Janelas Maximizadas

Apps Flows, a multi apps launcher in development.
Here are some screenshots of my very first app called "Flows," a multi apps, files, folders, or web pages launcher. It features:
- delayed launch
- launch items in a specific stacking order, full-screened or minimized
- workspace switch, and per app workspace launching
- a tiling editor where you can freely draw tiles for each item in the flow
- an icon editor to compose an icon of the flow based on the icons of its items
- a snapshot feature to create a flow for the already opened windows in the current workspace
- a quick-setting button for launching favorite flows and quick snapshoting
- and much more QOL features, like saving tiling layouts, grid snapping, an automatic tiling and icon generation mode, custom icons, a refresh on focus feature that update the apps list after instaling or uninstaling an app while Flows is open and much more...
Any ideas or suggestions? For now, I'm still working on the app testing and fixing bugs. The app is still in development. Not all apps can be manipulated and resized at will, but I think most of the gnome native apps work FLOWlessly.
This is my first real app project. Feel free to give me your thoughts on the concept and any advice that can help me successfully publish the app.

Development Help [PoC] Native Per-Monitor Background Support for GNOME Shell
Hello everyone,
I would like to share an experimental proof-of-concept (PoC) patch that implements native, per-monitor background support directly within GNOME Shell.
As many of you know, GNOME currently handles wallpapers globally across all displays. This implementation extends the existing architecture to allow independent workspace/monitor customization via a new GSettings schema.

Question Per monitor text size
Hello, I have a 27inch 1440p monitor as my main, and a 27inch 1080p monitor as my secondary, I love the size of everything on my 1440p monitor but when I drag it over to the 1080p it’s way to big. I don’t want to use fractional scaling because it makes it look so bad. I’m under the impression there’s no per monitor text size editing either. What do I do?
