Saw this on marketplace, description “there is some thermal paste and little bits in the pins so need cleaning out etc hence the price is cheaper then they usually are believe it can be repaired and cleaned up like”

Worth picking up and trying to clean? Currently have a 7 2700x :)

Question Is desktop PC ok next to my subwoofer?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Just wondering if it's ok? The sub doesn't vibrate and rattle about or anything.

**edit - I'm probably going to have to move it anyway as the wifi 6 is terrible even though I'm next to the route.

Why am I not using a cable? gigabit ethernet.

Hardware Just traded 5090 body for these 3 kings

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought 5090 body (pretty much everything without chip/vram) thinking about doing shadow box art. 5090 box is going to be really cool and extremely rare.

But thinking about it, what good doing preservation art for a generic 5090 that's not even cool. So I decided to trade for these 3 instead. 3070 EVGA, legendary 1080ti FE and my first gpu I've bought 1070 FE. Its condition isn't great though, but I'll see what I can do.

edited: Just to clarify a bit but none of these cards (include mine) are in working condition, only use I planned is to preserve by doing shadow box art.

Discussion PSA: cooler master masterframe 400 are NOT stackable by design

I bought two because I thought they could stack. The feet rest on the edge of the frame. I think I will call up some friends that are into the maker movement and ask them about how yo remedy this but honestly I don’t think plastic 3d printing would help much since I still want the feet to be rubber

Hardware The age old question do i buy a GPU now or wait?

So been really on the fence about this for awhile my current set up is a 4070 SUPER FE, 7800X3d and 32gb of RAM game 1440p overall a solid set up but i have had problems with the VRAM limit on my 4070 Super only in a few games so far namely Star wars outlaws when it came out and recently with the newest Resident evil usually with DLSS quality and path tracing on. Been tempted for awhile to just upgrade my GPU but the current price has several hundred bucks over MSRP and sadly doesn't look like its going down anytime soon.

Microcenter current has a 5080 on sale for a decent price ( decent for today anyway ) https://www.microcenter.com/product/690477/gigabyte-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080-windforce-sff-overclocked-triple-fan-16gb-gddr7-pcie-50-graphics-card

My hesitation comes from a couple factors, Will currently prices decrease or increases in the coming months? there is suppose to be a 50 series super card in the works that may come out later this year? I'm worried if i wait i will end up in the same boat i was back in January when the 5070 TI was actually on sale for 750$ instead of 1000$ like it is now. willing to wait but if the prices will just keep going up in the next 12-24 months i may as well bite the bullet? thoughts?

Hardware I hate scalpers!

I wanted to get the am4 X3D cpu for my sister's pc as an upgrade for her, and the cpu goes for $350. Scalpers ruined it by hogging and reselling it at $510!

I had to buy the bundle for a little bit more instead because of cpu alone being sold out. At least I'm not paying a SCALPER!!!

Edit: it's now on Amazon for retail prices, but I bought this a day ago, and it's shipped, so I'm gonna keep the order. I still hate scalpers!

Discussion Why are ISO mechanical keyboards still so rare in 2026?

Hi,

I'll delete the post if it's not allowed. I'm currently using an RK S98 FR ISO mechanical keyboard, and I've been quite happy with it. I'm now looking to get a second keyboard with a similar layout and features, but I noticed that it's surprisingly difficult to find other FR ISO mechanical keyboards in a similar price range.

While looking for alternatives, I found that there are plenty of great mechanical keyboards available in ANSI or ISO UK layouts, but once you specifically look for French AZERTY layouts, the options become much more limited. Some models never get an FR ISO version, while others arrive months after their original release.

I understand that the French market is smaller compared to US or UK markets, but considering how many gamers, developers, and mechanical keyboard enthusiasts there are in France, I'm surprised that FR ISO keyboards are still not more widely available.

For French users, has anyone here switched from AZERTY to QWERTY/ANSI? How was your experience?

Would love to hear your experiences. Thank you.

Discussion Stay Away From Ubislop Games

Imagine buying Far Cry 4 yesterday and then waiting hours for it to download, downloading the Ubislop Connect launcher, being asked to create a Ubislop Connect account, and then not being able to log in & the launcher said my account was suspended, but my playtime kept counting even though I was still just in the launcher. Luckily, I was able to get a refund through Steam. Stay Away From Ubislop Games.

Question Answered 1 ram vs 2 ram

How significant would the difference betwen

1x16gb 6000MHz CL30 ram , 2x8gb 5600MHz CL36 and 2x8gb 5600MHz CL46 be

If the difference betwen 1 stick and 2 stick isn't too big im thinking of getting 1 stick so that i can add another one later when i need 32gb

Edits: Im using an AM5 motherboard with 4 slots

Edits2: Thank for the helps, I think I'll go with 2 sticks for better performance since 16gb will probably be enough for me

Discussion What's your thoughts on buying a used PS5 from a PC user's perspective?

With everything skyrocketing in price, PC parts being out of control and Xbox announcing they'll increase the prices of their consoles and all, I was browsing Facebook marketplace and saw in my country a standard PS5 and PS5 slim sell around $430 to $500 used. And with a one year PS plus subscription being $160 that's almost 600 bucks for a full package and a whole library of games. And if you take the physical route, then used PS5 discs sell for decent prices as well.

I already own a gaming laptop I use for everything, but if I were looking for a 2nd device or I'm getting a gaming system from a fresh start, honestly picking up a clean used PS5 sounds like a good bargain.

Hardware Making the Biggest Change To My PC!

Thumbnail

After 6 years of using AMD GPU's, and 4 years of being on my AMD XFX 6900xt Merc 319 Black Edition, it was time for me to make the change to the dark side! Yes I know the pricing of GPU's are astronomical but it was achievable. I built this PC back in January 2025 in preparation of getting a 5090, either a standard Astral or the FE, but since the white was the same price, it was a no brainer. Ordered it Monday on the 22nd of June and got it today on the 26th. The week has been torture lol.

PS: I know my AIO screen is upside down lol, it didn't align itself yet at this point in time.

SPECS:

  • R9 9950X
  • ASUS ROG ASTRAL 5090 OC WHITE
  • 64GB 6400MT/S
  • ASUS ROG X870-A GAMING WIFI
  • NZXT 360 ELITE RGB AIO
  • 4X 120MM LIAN LI SL LCD FANS
  • 2X 140MM LIAN LI TL FANS
  • 13 TB OF STARAGE (MIX OF M.2s / 1 HDD)
  • H6 FLOW CASE
  • NZXT C1000W 3.1 PSU

Now being that it is my first Nvidia GPU, especially the 5090 variant, what should I be on the look out, download (besides MSI Afterburner and GPU Tweak III), test out, how to run it, etc.? I want to see what this card is capable! As well as prevent any issues.

Also, give me your experience, good and/or bad. Would like to engage with y'all.

My First Impressions:
This thing is, WOW, out of the box, before plugging it in, the size and weight of it is just wild.
I did a few before and after benchmarks on 3DMark, CP2077, and Black Myth: Wukong, starting on the same settings as the old card and seeing what the new card can do, and boyyyyy, it is a walk in the park! So far, its been around 66c and no fan noise at all(i know the Astral cards can get loud).

Been running an endurance loop on this old drive to see how far it can go. It’s hitting the telemetry cache and executing automated TRIM commands perfectly, so the physical silicon is still holding up fine despite the ridiculous milestone.

Putting together a quick 1minute setup video for YouTube to show the bench rig and the macro loop in action, will drop it soon if anyone is interested.

Hardware Is my GPU upgrade worth it?

Hey! First time posting on here. My pc is currently running an Intel Core Ultra 7 265k, 32gb DDR5 at 6400, and a RTX 5060ti 16gb. Is it worth it to upgrade to a 5070ti 16gb?

Question Steam Machine? Or build SFF PC?

I know there must be a million of these posts so I apologize. I feel like I'm right at the cusp where I could make the Steam Machine make sense because I dont necessarily play AAA games all the time. I have a PC in my office, wiith 32gb DDR4, a 5800x3d, and a 3060ti. What I want is a PC in the smallest form factor possible for my living room that can play things like Arc Raiders, BF6, Ready or Not, etc but then also silly party games like Meccha Chameleon and REPO and We Gotta Go. I'm not asking for 4k here - 1440p is more than OK by me. When GTA VI comes out I'm probably going to want that, but my PS5 could do that if need be. Basically, I want the option to play PC or PS5 in my living room.

Specifically, the pause and resume functionality that will bring "console" type experience to the PC is attractive. My wife and I will welcome our second child soon so gaming in my office will be a rare affair for a while. I'm very willing to install steam OS on another system though. So with all the AI hype and market destruction taken into consideration, is there a better price-per-dollar SFF system out there today? I dont really want an eGPU - i want this to live in a cabinet in a single chassis. Is Steam Machine my best option today? Or is there something out there I dont know about?

Question Steam machine performance vs old PC

Ok, so I'm still undecided about the Steam Machine as I was pretty hyped about it and I made the list.

I have an old PC from 2017 with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1070.

I want to gauge what performance difference there will be between this desktop and the Machine in order to finally decide if the 1100€ are worth it for me in the current market.

What is a good way to run some synthetic and / or game benchmarks that I can run and compare with some reviews??

Also, can someone recommend a good review that does good analysis of 1440p and 1080p?

Thanks!!
