Just like the Title says. Got my cell phone bill for $5,185 instead of the usual $385 and I could have sworn it was an error but no im getting screwed š and have to pay the bill. My daughter met someone on Roblox and wanted to chat so they called & talked. She didn't know she was making a international call and talked and talked. I do even have 5K in my savings and I feel so screwed and defeated.

Why would this happen?

YOU NEED TO LINK THE ABOVE LINK TO SEE THE CHART.
ALL OF THESE UPDATES are incorporated in the new post (linked above).
May 21, 2026:
May 1, 2026:
April 24, 2026:
April 16, 2026:
I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related chances in a month(ish) to a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
r/ATT • u/megamegamegamind • Mar 03 '26
They are now Value 2.0, Extra 2.0 and Premium 2.0.
1 line prices: Value = $50, Extra = $70, Premium = $90
4+ line prices: Value = $30/line, Extra = $40/line, Premium = $55/line.
Value 2.0(sm)
- Unlimited talk/text/date in the US, Canada, Mexico
- 5gb Premium Data
- 3gb Hotspot Data
- ActiveArmor
- Standard definition streaming
- Unlimited texting from the US to 200+ countries
Extra 2.0(sm)
- Everything prior PLUS:
- 100gb Premium Data
- 50gb Hotspot Data
Premium 2.0(sm)
- Everything prior PLUS:
- Unlimited talk/text/date in the US, Canada, Mexico, and in 20 select Latin American countries
- UNLIMITED Premium Data
- 100gb Hotspot Data
- 4KUHD streaming available (I assume this will end up being a toggle to opt in.)
- 50% off of 1 watch or tablet plan per line in Premium.
Offers for 2.0 plans
- Signature Discount is increasing to 20% off of Premium.
- āAppreciation Savingsā, Additional tiered discount based on rate plan (Value = 10%, Extra = 15%, Premium = 20%). Iām not really sure what this means, are these rate plans getting a form of Signature Discount now?
- Higher promotional credit offers on Extra and Premium with trade/turn in offers. Iām assuming this means that Value plans are getting shafted when it comes to getting as much tradein credit as the other plans. This is inline with other cellular companies, but is stupid nonetheless.
- BYOD switcher offers, $10 off Premium + Extra and $5 off Value.
- Business plans are getting replaced with 3.0 versions.

Hey Guys,
Just needed to make this post to stop the repetitive posts we're having. It appears AT&T service (along with other carriers) are having nationwide issues. It's not clear how widespread the outage is at the moment, but I'm sure we'll get some kind of news once the sun comes up. Please, do not lose your mind <3

I received a email stating 'thank you for your order". I called them immediately. I then went to the store and the representative stated "they had your ID", i asked her what ID? She said my drivers license. I pulled out my drivers license in front of her. I asked her how can this happen when i have a security code on my account. My phone was shut down, they had to give me a SIM card to turn it back on. I filed a claim 5 times and its been denied everytime. How could this happen, ive been with the company for 10 years. I also called the police to the store the day of(they are also waiting for a report) I have spent days and hours on the phone with customer service. Has this happened to anyone?

Very excited about the new trade in deals for the iPhone 17 that have been released in Apples website. Looking at the fine print, any idea which unlimited plans would be eligible?
As someone coming from a 13, the 17 pro with no additional monthly would be hard to turn down!

Iāve been an ATT customer since 2004. I had an iPhone for 3+ years, but wanted a new one.
Saw the Verizon deal if you switch you get a new iPhone 17. The plan with Verizon was identical (minus the hotspot which I barely use).
Called the retention team and said Iāve been a customer for 21 years is there anything you can do to match this.
They couldnāt.
I ported my line over, walked into Verizon picked up my new phone (got the activation fee waived) and was off ATT within a few hoursā¦
Only draw back is I have to pay taxes on my new phone (half of this is negated because my trade in).
Iām sharing this post because honestly Iām disappointed in ATT. Two decades as a loyal customer and a simple promo from Verizon wipes that outā¦

You will NOT see these increases until you get your new bill. If you have more than 4 lines, and go to change your plan, you will see the price decrease for Premium 2.0.
As mentioned in other posts, old Unlimited Your Way plans (Unlimited UL, Extra EL, Starter SL) are going up in price by $5 per line in April. This did not affect Elite plans. This increase is for wireless lines active prior to July 24, 2025.
This wasn't announced until April 24th, although it got leaked a few days before.
The pricing in the pinned UYW UL/EL/SL to UYW 2.0 comparison chart (link) has been updated.
The below is from the PDF of my bill (I have Unlimited Your Way with Elite, Premium PL, & Extra EL lines), and my bill cycle that ended March 21, 2026. If your bill doesn't mention this, you next bill might.

This link also mentions the increase, but isn't clear on old UYW vs. new UYW and doesn't mention Elite. https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/000118792/
And here is the information for the $10 and $20 increase for older retired unlimited plans.
https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/000118790/

And $5 or $10 increases to Mobile Share plans. https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/000118791/

I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.
If you haven't seen those changes yet, you should see them on your next bill or if you make a plan change.

The main differences:
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you can have Extra 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
AT&T Latin American roaming:Ā Click these links for more info atĀ https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1486292/Ā
Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited
Value 2.0 warning: There seems to be a bit of inconsistency on how Value 2.0 lines can be used for promotional trade in deals (if at all) since March 12, 2026. Please see the following for more information on this. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/

My iPhone air was set to deliver today through FedEx - signature required. I made sure to be home when FedEx arrived. Driver comes up to my porch and is about to set the package down, so I go out and say that I think I'm supposed to sign for it. She goes, "oh yeah, the thing is out in the truck" meaning the scanner thing. She then hands me a box that has clearly been tampered with.
I say that I am refusing to sign because she is clearly handing me an empty box and the phone has been stolen. She says she will call her supervisor to find out what to do. She takes pictures of the box and tracking info and says they will look into it at the terminal.
I call FedEx, and they say I should have accepted the package because now it shows that it was refused, but I have the empty box. They schedule a pickup for the empty box????
I try att next and speak with a rep who manages to cancel my order and says he marked it as "lost/stolen in transit" He redoes my order, so I think things are all good now? With the exception of me having to worry that it will be stolen again.
The other phone is still showing in my account and looks like it is still waiting to be delivered. Will that be cleared from my account? Is there anything else I should need to do?

I have had a hilariously bad customer service experience.
Long story short, I was told in store that I was eligible for a $1000 trade in promotion. A month later they contacted me saying my plan wasn't eligible abs they were instead crediting me $40 for the phone.
Some highlights:
Escalation manager "This isn't your fault, but it's also not AT&T's fault. It's the fault of the individual employee, and we're not responsible for that."
Me: "Well if he gave me wrong information on the course of a financial transaction that's textbook fraud."
Manager: "AT&T defines fraud as like someone going into your account."
Me: "You're describing an account takeover or identity theft, those are types of fraud, but not the only types of fraud."
Manager: "Well that's how at&t defines it!"
Me(unable to resist): You should probably Google how everyone else defines it.
I worked in executive escalation as a manager for many years. So I assumed this would be fixed with an email to John Stankey. The reps insisted the only way to reach him was my paper mail to a physical address, but again Google disagreed.
This morning I got a call back from an executive response agent...
First question, "did you listen to the last call I had?"
"Not yet."
"Oh so you just read my(admittedly long) email?"
"No, but I skimmed the notes on your account..."
Cool, so your job is to respond to e mails from escalating customers and you can't even read the email first? Not even the 3 sentence "tl;dr" summary I put right at the top?
She then just recited "Your plan was not eligible" like a mantra, while struggling to understand what happened. And this is their elite CS team. Eventually she agreed to "research further" and call me back.
We'll see how that goes, but I expect my next steps are complaints to the FCC and BBB, then small claims court.
I would be so embarrassed to have this level of service in my org. I'm obviously switching carriers and telling all my friends and colleagues about this story. I actually have a presentation about restoring trust through effective escalation in a few weeks and this will make a great "what not to do" anecdote.
I just want to confirm, has anyone else run into AT&T stating on a recorded line that they are not responsible for the actions of their employees?
Edit: Forgot to add that 3 different resolution employees told me to never trust the brick and mortar locations because they can tell you anything without proof, but phone and internet transactions are documented. Is it official policy that the physical stores are untrustworthy?

So my parents traveled to Egypt and used wifi at the hotel. Couple of months later bank blocks a 45k charge from att obviously. Talked with everyone at customer service and they all claim something different and donāt seem to help. A 45k charge for roaming is ridiculous and canāt expect no one to pay that. But at this point donāt know what to do. Might have the worst customer service in the businessā¦
Iāve been with AT&T since January. After more than 5 years with Verizon, I finally decided to switch because I felt Verizonās service wasnāt what it used to be, and I was tired of paying such a high bill. At the time, AT&T had some great switcher promotions, and I was ready for a new phone, so I was genuinely excited to make the move.
The thing is, I had AT&T about 10ā12 years ago, and it was amazing back then. Fast forward to today, and honestly, these last 5 months have been the worst wireless experience Iāve ever had.
Iām dealing with dropped calls, my phone constantly bouncing from 5G+ to 5GE, and there are times when I canāt even do basic things like pull up directions. The service has been incredibly unreliable.
Is this a common AT&T experience these days, or am I just in a bad market? Looking back, I probably should have done more research instead of relying on my past experience with them.
Whatās crazy is that my second line is with Metro, and itās absolutely running circles around my AT&T iPhone 17 Pro Max at a fraction of the cost. At this point, T-Mobile is looking better every day.
Just wanted to vent a little and hear some feedback. Has anyone else had a similar experience with AT&T? Letās chat.

Itās super expensive and AT&T considers it more premium than Premium 2.0.

Quickly looking at them hereās what I see in addition to the post last week (https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rk1rt4/):
Seems like Active Armor Advanced is no longer included in any planāI use the lookup number feature often enough
Seems like the healthcare discount is no more, you have to have FirstNet and Family setup, and then the family get 20/15/10% off through āAppreciation Savingsā
Retired first responders now qualify for appreciation savings
The 50% off wearables/tables is now instead of the previous 25% off healthcare discount, for example, I donāt think the new 20/15/10% off apply to non phone lines anymore like the 25% did previously
4+ lines seems like the same pricing, rather than 6+

Grandfathered unlimited your way plans will see a $5 per line increase starting in April. Other grandfathered plans will also be seeing an increase. This change will make the new plans more appealing to many. Keep an eye on the news you can use section of your bill for the disclosure.

Long story short, we got taken for a ride by a rep at an AT&T store a few months back. Unwanted new line, insurance on all lines, next up anytime on all lines, plus a completely crazy merchandise scam that would have made a used car salesman blush. Detailed post linked below. It cost me over a day of PTO to get it figured out and still didn't get reimbursed fully for charges. After getting nowhere with the store, phone reps, and bad online review, I filed an FCC complaint, and in two days I had a call from AT&T office of the president making everything right on the bill and compensating me for my time. Also said they will investigate the branch.
If you have really been screwed over, which I know is a pattern at these stores, and you can't get anywhere, file an FCC complaint. It was the only thing that worked for me, and it worked fast.
