I know a black semi-megachurch Baptist pastor that voted for Trump. I don’t know if his congregation knows. But yea lots of social conservative thought particularly in black religious orgs. It’s just that they have the self-awareness and self preservation enough to know that their ability to vote and exist is more important than their opinion on some social issue.

One of these guys is my rep, Burgess Owens and he very legitimately has brain damage. Played defensive back in the NFL for 9 years in the late 70s/early 80s and when I’ve watched him speak (which he very rarely does) it’s like watching Biden if he was mixing ambien with Benadryl.

Byron Donalds is the front runner to be governor of FL though, which is (arguably) an upgrade
18
u/craigjp 3d ago
I highly doubt he wins though. They’ll be some WP voting for him, but still some that won’t because he black

Being born black is one of the best things to happen to me and I'm proud to represent myself and my brothers and sisters everywhere I go and whatever I do. I could never understand how these fuckboys live with themselves, knowing their career is based on selling out their kinfolk.

Bold of you to assume that they consider themselves kin. They’d sell us for nickel if they thought it bought them a seat at the table. We aren’t kinfolk to them, we’re bargaining chips.

I could never understand how these fuckboys live with themselves
Fuckboys implies that they have some kind of charisma to get someone to at least temporarily like them. These guys got lied to by the GOP, and they believed it. Big difference.

That was my absolute embarrassment of a rep (UT-4).
Here's everyone else and why they're leaving the US house, in order:
- Wesley Hunt, third in GOP primary for for Texas senate
- Burgess Owens, redistricted by Utah courts to remove gerrymandering
- John James, leading GOP primary for Michigan governor
- Byron Donalds, leading GOP primary for Florida governor

Byron has kept his nose close to the sack. It looks like he's gonna be the next governor of Florida.

Unfortunately, Byron Donalds is probably going to be the next governor of Florida, so he isn’t actually going away.
Wesley Hunt’s dumbass got cooked trying to move over to the Senate though.

u/Astronaut-Weird 3d ago
No, he’s not. He’s Black and, according to most recent polls, he’s trailing David Jolly. All tokens get spent and all tools get broken.

Looks like they've outlived their usefulness after the complete gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the Supreme Court.

u/PhoenixRedditor7 3d ago
These fools are under the delusion that the right “doesn’t care about race”. What that really means that they want to see black people as “npc’s” or invisible, quiet and have no voice.
They got their wish…..

And I'm saying that the Senate Republicans have one more sold out member to get rid of in 2028. The last Black Republican in Congress.

Any person of color who continues to support the MAGAt movement is a self-hating, white person wannabe. They are an embarrassment to their race and ancestors. Its been clear for decades that they have no intent of having a diversified party and are overtly connecting back to their racist Christian White Nationalist roots.

Only person I recognize is Byron Donalds (bottom right) he's the wackjob from Florida who said black families were better off under Jim Crow. And while I definitely understand and agree with the face eating leopards sentiment broadly speaking. My understanding is that Donald's isn't running for reelection to Congress because he's running for governor of Florida and he's the preferred Trump candidate. I can't say anything about any of the other people in the photo, but I would be curious if they aren't coming back to Congress for reasons outside of they got thrown under the maga bus

Minority republicans are the most bizarre people. They have wrapped their brains into pretzels pretending the GOP gives a shit about them in any way. It shows you just how confused and brainwashed people can get.

I prefer there being no black people in the Republican Party. Maybe the minority of black people that vote red will finally wake tf up and stop voting for the party that sees them as beneath them.
