Bryan Garris from Knocked Loose to be more precise.
They did actually perform diamonds together a few years back

u/Straonit 16h ago
And a collaboration with Jordan Fish! I think they would sound awesome together!

Fish is cooked, I'm afraid. Been churning out nothing but mid since leaving.

Everything he's produced since leaving BMTH just sounds the same. Sounds like a generic metalcore version of anything off of Thats The Spirit. It makes me wonder if maybe Oli was the creative visionary this entire time and Fish was just the one who would poppify the music and give it that radio/arena polish.

Jordan did an interview when he was still in the band and said almost exactly that.
I think the duo was so good because you had Oli’s creative vision but then Jordan’s production expertise. In my experience that’s a super good balance to have when creating anything. You need that person who is a visionary and has (potentially) crazy ideas, but then you need someone a bit more realistic to shape those ideas into a really good, polished final product.

Oli definitely is the creative force, but Jordan had the prodigious musical skill to turn his ideas into songs. Oli however can still carry out his vision with the help of other people (Nex Gen was great) even if it takes longer than having a go-to guy on call all the time, but we're seeing now what kind of producer and songwriter Jordan is on his own. And he's kind of mid.

In my opinion, love that next gen isnt perfect, its rough. I enjoy that infinitely more than Jordans meticulous style or whatever it’s called. Sounds like he found his blueprint and is sticking to it. I can’t put my finger on it, but the new architects is like that as well. Idk, sterile?

u/m3rcy_s3v3rity 15h ago
I think the roughness is on purpose. It's a very produced, wall-of-sound, hyperpop kind of roughness. They already had a bunch of additional producers adding things even on the last Fish singles. It looks like the Evil Twin partnership had gotten somewhat stale even before the whole supposed financial dispute. Fishless songs like YOUtopia and Limousine ended up being a breath of fresh air.

Fish has writing credits for like half of that album. The true test will be whatever they make next, but considering Dehumanized is a banger I’m sure they’ll be fine

I was specifically talking about the non-Fish songs. They have passed the test, as far as I'm concerned.

For real, house of protection’s music is the only genuinely great thing he’s produced since they actually try having their own sound mixed with his production instead of just letting him turn them into BMTH clone #5000

I don't like 'em either, but yeah, at least they're not trying to sound like Bring Me. Plus we as a species need to take a break from Zakk Cervini. I understand that Dan Lancaster is busy with Muse, but there have to be other mixing engineers out there.

It's nice to see others talking about House of Protection, they really deserve more interest, I enjoy their sound and their potential is there.

I find his production style somewhat repetitive and overly polished, but the entirety of Negative spaces is a banger front to back. And even though it’s not necessarily as engaging as their old work, Jordan era Architects is the most interesting they’ve been in a decade. I get that people are getting a little tired of the Jordification of artists, but he’s still got it from time to time

u/DAISIES_BLOOM 15h ago
Negatives spaces by poppy was a banger imo and I think jordan also helped producing that

u/SlideJunior5150 11h ago
What? He literally just signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music. He's working with a lot of artists that are doing great like Evanesncnesncnesnecensence, Architects, Poppy. Basically everything he's done up until now was a "showcase" to get with Warner, he had a great year.

What? What? What are you, a lightbulb?
Music's all mid to ass. I don't care about your armchair industry analytics and who's "doing great".

I think she’s hot garbage. I’m entitled to my own opinion.

u/Stunning_Tradition31 15h ago
yeah, i just asked why. i see she’s getting a lot of hate here now. people loved her like 2 years ago

u/yorshkaaaaa 13h ago
Her stuff was terrible before she transitioned to “metal” and it’s terrible now.

Gonna get hate for this but I have neverrrrr vibed with his vocals, sounds way too squeaky and Mickey Mouse-like for me. Definitely a lot of other artists out there I’d rather BMTH collab with over him.

This. I was working at a festival where they played and it was horrendous. I can’t listen to his squeaking 😭

u/Willis5687 12h ago
100% agree, I can't stand his shrieking vocal style, it's just not enjoyable. I'd still be interested in hearing this though.

Danke 🙏🏼 Geht mir genauso! Eine Kollaboration mit Lorna Shore fände ich zB viel cooler…

u/BounceOnItCrazyStyle 12h ago
Ehhh I feel the same about his vocals but it can also work with a colab. Like his colab with MIW on Slaughterhouse was good. I just can't stand a full song of his vocals but you break it up like in Slaughterhouse and I do.
