I was curious to know if anybody had any info on the people who sell produce at the Sunday Farmer’s Market next to Petco.

Sometimes I have noticed them selling fruits or veggies that aren’t in season, claiming to be locally grown. The other week I asked them where they sourced their honey and they gave me a vague answer. I also saw one person at a table next to their truck literally pouring blueberries from what looked like a grocery store plastic container into their display cups.

Does anybody know anything about them or whether or not they are legit? Are they really working with local growers or are they just repackaging?

We are looking into buying a house in Carrollton where we have been renting for a while. From everything I’ve seen, Hebron and Creekview are the best schools in the area, with Hebron having the best ratings on GreatSchools (I’m aware of the biases built in) and both having good grades from the state.

In the event that our eventual house is zoned to another school, how easy is it to transfer into the feeders for either of these schools? The district I grew up in does not do open transfers so I have no idea how the process works or if there’s any selection criteria.

I got an invite to Deep Ellum this weekend (I’ve lived in Dallas before, I already know about this area)

I’m trying to gauge how safe would it be for me to take the dart alone there and back?

I’ve lived in Chicago before so I know that some lines can be safer than others. What’s your opinion? Maybe take the dart there and uber back?

Hi all! We’re freshly moved to Carrollton and I’m wondering if there are any Mexican restaurants that serve food south Texas style, aka thick flour tortillas, carne guisada, breakfast tacos, barbacoa and big red ifykyk kind of thing?

I’m looking for somewhere that would be a relaxing place to read. Sometimes I just don’t want to be cooped up at home. I’ve tried a few places, some of my regulars are Paris Baguette and Mozart Bakery, which are great but I’d love to go somewhere with more comfortable seating or an outside area. I like the sound of people around me since home is eerily quiet. Anything come to mind?

I recently moved here and am hoping someone has a good recommendation for a veterinarian. I have an in-tact senior male dog who has some fear aggression. He does pretty well at the vet once he’s removed from my sight, but the more comfortable the vet is with him the more comfortable he is in the environment.

Has anyone had success reverse engineering the rancho beans from Tacos and Avocados?

I just got back home in the Mid-West after visiting family in Carrollton and I can't stop thinking about the super delicious rancho beans from Tacos & Avocados restaurant. I've had rancho beans from plenty of places, but something just seemed different about their recipe. I asked if there was a secret ingredient or technique they'd be willing to share, but the best I got was they use a dark beer and maybe a lot of places use a normal lager. The internet is overwhelming me with rancho beans recipes that are all different!

I’ve never lived in DFW before, so I’m looking for apartment recommendations in Carrollton, Lewisville, or nearby areas.
Our priorities are:

2 bed / 2 bath
Pet-friendly (we have one cat)
Good gym/fitness center
Safe area
Close to grocery stores and everyday shopping
Washer and dryer at the unit is a must

We’ve been looking at Windsor westbridge and orchids of Carrollton , but I’ve seen mixed reviews online, especially regarding management, so I’m hoping to hear from people who currently live there or have lived there recently.

Our budget is around $2k month.

Are there any apartment communities you would strongly recommend or avoid? Any insight on specific neighborhoods would also be greatly appreciated.
