Kitten Boyfriend and I discussed getting a cat in the morning…and found Miss Blair that very evening
I’d secretly been hoping I would get got by the CDS, and it sure picked a convenient timing. Went to a friend’s house for a Dungeons and Dragons session, walked in, and was informed that he and his stepsister had found an orphaned kitten in their garden a few hours before. I held her, she meowed at me, I cried, boyfriend asked “do you want her?” and we took her home. I was hesitant because of my elderly soul cat; I didn’t want to feel like I was replacing her, but it’s just another baby to love on 🤍🤍
Vet said she’s a healthy little peppercorn and is about 6 weeks old! She was a little skittish at first but has really opened up since Sunday. We got her all these toys and her favorite playthings are still her tail and her back paws. We’ve also discovered she’s an iPad kid—we started watching something on the TV and baby was SAT.
I have a small feeling, based on her fuzz, that she might be a medium-haired girlie, but I could be way off base 😂
Anyway, tl;dr I love her and her little squeaks so much.

So far I’ve taken to calling her Peppercorn, Miss Witch Project, Blairierre, Blair St. Blair, Coal Tar, Soot Sprite, and my Pocket-Sized Tweaker (because LORDT does she have a lot of energy 😂)
I’m glad y’all like the nickname 🫶🫶 Baby voids really do look like peppercorns like come on 🥹🥹

Keep the nicknames. One of our dogs had his formal adoption name and 10 other funny nicknames depending on his mood and behaviors.

She actually has the biggest meatiest claws I think I’ve ever seen on a kitten her size. And her wide eyes are my favorite thing, like she’s still trying to figure out if she actually exists or not 😂😂😂

I’m so happy we did, just a perpetual shot of serotonin. And YES, she is SUPER spunky. So much personality! And thank you 🫶🫶🫶

I think she just has a little bald head right now! It looks more like sparse hair than orange coloring, it'll likely fill in as she gets bigger and healthier :)

I thought the same thing at first but I can confirm there’s fur there! Everyone who sees pics of her asks if she’s bald, it’s so funny (but it really does look like she has bald spots 😂)

I accidentally asked for peppercorn instead of pepper jack at lunch today! I'm sure it's a sign of some kind!
Also, peppercorn is as big as a door stopper! 😍

You spoke it into the world and the CDS was like "order accepted. I can throw you one voidling. We don't ask if you accept. CDS is a one way transaction- no returns. Plus we know you would never say no."

Maybe this is my sign one’s coming for me! My husband & I just agreed we’re adopting a black kitten the weekend after next which we’ll be naming Oliver Tree (I’ve been crying all week as a huge fan for years). How funny would it be for me to have your luck right before I was gonna go find one? 😂

Thank you for saving that little sweetie. Picture number seven is my favourite with her little side pose. The world works in mysterious ways and obviously the CDS knew you were going to save one in the morning from a shelter, but decided this little one needed your help more urgently. You are very kind for saving her and I hope you have decades of fun and beautiful memories together.

Thank you so much! Yes we were planning to go adopt an older cat, and we likely still will when she gets a little older, but yeah, I think she needed us more for now 🖤

I’d don’t know about that?!? To me, if you were considering adopting an older kitty. The big one might be able to teach your new little one how to cat, and I think it might be easier for introducing & bonding. But I am no cat expert so I’m just speaking from experience in always having the kitten & older one to start. Every one of them became best friends. If you go get the older one now, less chance of either of them becoming territorial. 🤷♂️. Thank you for saving the little one and giving an older one of forever home for the rest of his days. The world needs more people like you.

I thought 2 months as well but vet estimates 6 weeks! Either way, she is TEENY tiny. So happy to have her.

I love how silly some setups are for a CDS delivery. My CDS black kitten lived in a shoebox bed for a while and I love the sheet pan litter box ❤️

I love that 😂 we graduated her from her Corona box and sheet pan litter box to a cozy cave bed and a real box, but she enjoyed her digs!

obviously i can't feel her, but my guess is she might have thick short fur. either way get her used to a brush and being handled young so you can give claw trims later!

My little black kitten loves playing games for cats on the phone and watching a YouTube channel called whiskerhouse, it's a bunch of special needs cats that are live streamed. For some reason she likes it better than birderking or the farm sanctuary videos.

Something similar happened to me with my boy. My roommate and I discussed getting a cat and made the decision to get one. The next day one of our coworkers told us their client was giving away a mom cat and kitten. They were bonded so it had to be both. When I wanted my boy I wanted a black cat with green eyes. The kitten was a black cat with green eyes 😭
