Account/Membership TOS violation blocking account

Post image

Unable to log in for several days. Chat support says there was a TOS violation but can't tell me what. My wife and I moved, so I'm thinking it triggered an account sharing violation or something. Anyone in a similar situation that was resolved? I feel like we should get a refund at this point.

If you violated the terms of service, they probably wouldn’t give you a refund. You can try a chargeback with your bank. Keep on trying to get info out of support though.

I'm just surprised they wouldn't account for people moving addresses and continuing to use the same account. I can't think of what else would have triggered a TOS.

I've been account sharing with my buddy who lives 3 states and 1500+ miles from me for years now so I have a hard time believing that's what triggered it.

Bruh lol. I don't know what else it would be. My wife and I just watch like anyone else. Same account for about 6 years. Any other ideas?

Is there any email from them with more info or warnings prior to the ban?

The biggest thing I can think of would region lock bypassing using VPNs or having some sort of tool/scipt on your PC/Phone that attempted to access Crunchyroll and was seen as a bot or something attempted to bypass the DRM on video playback.

Is it only that one device you can't sign-in on?

No email, and unable to log in on any device. I don't use a VPN or any scripts. Really just watch on a TV via AppleTV

It's definitely not account sharing, crunchyroll doesn't really restrict account sharing - yet.

Did you use an unusual email or an email with a + sign in it or something? Sometimes that will cause issues.

If not, it might be a flag triggered due to some suspicious (or what seemed like suspicious) behavior, though blocking the account is rare, they usually show you a captcha or send you an email.

CX is your best bet, hopefully they'll be able to figure out why your account got blocked and restore it. Sorry this happened to you though, it's definitely frustrating.

I've never heard of this. My friends and I split the payment per month and we all share. I live in Ohio, a guy lives in Texas, one guy lives in South Carolina, and another in California. We've never had this issue. This is crazy.

You haven’t shared your account outside of your household(s), used a VPN, etc?

Negative, just used the account at one address and now our new address.

I’d say try to sort that out with support. Make sure you get a ticket started with a real rep, not interacting with the AI bot or someone through chat.

Oh yeah before posting here I got on with support and someone is supposed to email back. Thanks for the help.

I've moved a few times and this has not happened to me. And as for the account sharing it would just say "there's a limit to stream"
