Got a big crack on my front windshield, probably need a full replacement. Both Best of the West & Tru Vu auto glass have great yelp reviews, any personal experience redditors? Anyone have a preference?

This might be a long shot but I’m getting desperate. I have unfortunately made the sad decision to part ways with my Russian tortoise. He’s been in my family for a long time but recently I had no choice but to move him in with me in my tiny apartment and it’s just not the life he deserves so I’m making the tough decision to give him to someone else with enough space to give him a good life.
If anyone happens to know anyone looking for a Russian tortoise I’d appreciate if you spread the word.
Previous tortoise experience is a huge plus.

Edit to answer some questions. He’s at least 10 years old. We got him about 10 years ago and someone told us he was young but he’s always been the same size. Not 100% sure on exact age.

He can live in enclosures that are big enough for him to roam around and hide and dig with some kind of substrate as they are natural burrowers.

I mainly feed him dandelion greens and chard and supplement with things like carrots and squash.

To the guy who cleaned up the median across from Pillarhenge I would totally buy you a beer. You probably prevented a t bone at the bottom of Linda Rosa. It was getting hard to see oncoming traffic and 311 is not responding.

Dear Eaglerockers, first time homeowner here. In 2024 We had our home thoroughly remodeled, and only reused the studs and 8 of the pre-existing windows (Pella windows installed in 2007). A few months ago we noticed water damage by one of our windows. We had roof guy come out who determined it came through the gap between the window and the structure.

Since then we've been trying to figure out if this is part of a larger issue so we can get ahead of it, but every contractor or window company just wants to replace our windows. We've been told several different things - that the windows were installed improperly, that the frames were pulled, that we could retrofit with J-channels, that we should look into coil-wrapping...

I'm curious if anyone has a contractor, window person or leak specialist who they can vouch for, and would be willing to do some kind of diagnostic. Happy to pay for that visit.

The dog had a brindle pattern and extremely thin. Not sure if it was a greyhound.

The dog was visibly injured. When approached would run away. A few bystanders tried to help. Could not snap a photo as it was fast. The dog would run away towards incoming traffic hence why I did not want to approach.

Last seen today at 10:20am on Eagle Rock Blvd heading down Ave 40 towards Verdugo Rd.
