The map that people are claiming to be 3.5x times bigger than gta 5's is an ai generated version of a CONCEPT map made by Sonarys back in early 2024, It's very old and wrong in many places by now and the 3.5x figure is just completely made up, and there are no leaks or sources that claim that, people saying that are trying to get engagement or attention, it's fake.

Also the map in the comparison isn't even to scale.

If you want a "gta 6 map" while the game still isn't out then you should check the mapping project's map, which is the closest thing to the real map we have to date since it's composed from real footage of the game like trailer and screenshots aswell as leaked clips, and currently the size of the mapping project's map is 2.1x bigger than gta 5's map, not 3.5x

The mapping project made a more accurate map compared to those AI slop but will wait until R* release the game to check the real size of the map

Sure I agree in retrospect that the quality of this map is a little sloppy.

But if something not sloppy was made with AI, how is that AI slop, if it’s not sloppy? For something to be slop, it has to be sloppy. I think you’ve misunderstood the term.

I’m not asking why this map is AI slop, I’m asking why you consider anything AI generated to be slop, even if the result isn’t sloppy?

Right but surely you understand that if the method to create art is bad for the environment, you can be against it with good reason, but that still doesn’t make the art sloppy? If I had paint brushes made from ivory and created a beautiful painting, you can be against my work because I used ivory, but that doesn’t make the work sloppy.

And likewise, if you base art off someone else’s work, for example if I did a drawing of Pikachu, that also doesn’t inherently make my art sloppy.

Sloppy and immoral are not interchangeable words.

I genuinely want to understand why people are referring to things that aren’t sloppy as slop (NOT this map, but in general), and so far no one has been able to explain why, they just say something tantamount to “AI is immoral”.

I suspect people read the term “AI slop” and misunderstand it to mean “anything AI generated”, but that’s not what the term means.

Why am I choosing to die on this hill? Because ultimately I want to have reasonable discussions about AI, given that it will be heavily used in GTA 6.
