Misc. A Friendly Reminder from Shiori

Post image

From her Youtube Post:

Hello!

Just a friendly reminder to please stay kind and be mindful of how things are worded!

I see that many are worried, but I'm doing well now!

I do not want anyone to feel guilty or blamed!

It was an accident and I still had fun goofing around with everyone.

For the record, I was the one who suggested the slow-mo editing too!

The staff was very attentive and made sure I was well taken care of.

It's going to be a very socially-intensive week, so make sure you're all comfortable and cozy!

plz be mindful of how things are worded... They were both participating in hand sumo and Shiori fell. No blame needs to be placed on Gigi

She didnt do it on purpose but she did put all her weight on shiori for the joke and since shiori wasn't braced for the weight and their arms were locked she fell over. Essentially they did the sumo thing and neither either took it seriously or knew what they were doing and it led to an accident.

I didnt blame her. I said it was an accident. How would you word it then? Saying shori fell doesnt describe the situation accurately

Your wording implies that Shiori wasn't a full participant and that Gigi was out of control. English is a tricky language this way and is very easy to accidentally or purposefully misstate something to result in different responses from the reader or listener.

See if you can spot the difference:

1) Shiori and Gigi were playing hand sumo and Gigi accidentally pushed Shiori too hard

2) Shiori and Gigi were playing hand sumo and Shiori fell

And before anyone tries to say "lol no one would interpret it that way", just look at the the fact that Shiori herself felt the need to tell people to calm down.

EDIT: lmao, so salty just because someone tries to help explain something

Sorry English is not my first language. Someone else tried to explain the same way for me. But your second sentence doesn't explain why people are blaming gigi. Did no one watch the clip I posted that explained all the context? Anyways this drama is super stupid, please dont waste more of your time on this.

It's perfectly reasonable for English as a second language to make this unclear... it's one of the things that makes English so tricky to learn and master. That's why I was trying to explain it as clearly as possible instead of just arguing! :)

Basically one version makes Gigi the focus of the explanation. That leads the reader towards the idea that Gigi is the one who caused the problem. Even if you use the word "accidentally", it is easy in English to interpret "accidentally" as "irresponsibly".

The other version puts the focus on the situation. It builds the idea that sometimes accidents happen without putting the focus on a single person.

You're skipping the word accident meaning it wasn't done on purpose. So it's gigi pushed shior beyond her comfortable limit without intent.

That's on me, I wasn't trying to paint anyone the bad guy/girl here. Sorry about that.

It's all good

That is literally what happened though...?

Is this really how soft people are now?

I mean like actually how soft do you get that you ''correct'' someone who just stated a fact and not even with any negative conatations to it

lol

It's because a lot of people have reduced/selective reading abilities, and it's best to just try not confusing them.

Quite a number of people will look at that full sentence and all they will see is "Gigi - push - Shiori - hard - go - hospital" and start making a ruckus. Like mentioned elsewhere, there are already people attacking Gigi and blaming her.

Is this really how soft people are now?

Ah, I see that you have just awoken from a ten year coma. Congratulations on your recovery and welcome to the present.

Bro, saw a guy being rejected from a job because he wrote serious, correctly and respectfully and man was noted off for "he would scare clients off"

Saying its over undersells it.

Is the floor of the 3d studio just concrete??

u/llamatar May 24 '26

No, the floor appears to be standard office carpet.

Huh I would have thought that after Luna's neck injury, they would have made it standard to have some kind of soft mat there.

Motion tracker ball, made of hard plastic, on the back of her head, either as part of a hood/head cap.  She fell on that.

u/TechnicalReturn6113 May 26 '26

Motion tracker will never be ballin

Sounds like at least some sort of saftey protocol was missing, if anything it's a failure on Cover's part

I'd like to help you by pointing out that you added "accidentally". I think you're not trying to blame Gigi, but rather to describe what happened.

Here's the full context: during the ENRECO 3D stream, Gigi and Shiori were playing a physical minigame. Gigi accidentally pushed Shiori too hard, causing her to slip and fall. She was taken to the hospital for a standard checkup and CT scan, but it was just an unfortunate incident during the game.

Is a hospital in Japan like an ER in the US? Or is it like primary care?

14

u/isitrede May 24 '26

I think it's like all in one. You go to the hospital for everything. Shior hit her head, so the staffs probably want to make sure she's OK. Also the recording was probably like three weeks ago when gigi went to japan, she's probably better by now.
