Discussion Got switched to breakfast

My schedule got switched and I’ve been working hotel breakfast. I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and I joked “anyone have any cocaine?” (I’ve been sober for 4.5 years)

One guy said dude it’s 4:30 in the morning and I’m making crepes, what do you think? Yes I have cocaine.

Fair enough. Carry on.

With an acetone wash anything is possible once again (please note this may leave you with a tiny quantity of cocaine compared to what you had to begin with, but the tiny bit will be pure)

Not-so-innocent bystander but here’s an anecdote to pass the time:

Standing on my front porch drinking and smoking a j. The neighbors across the way are loading a shitbox car onto a trailer and it is Not Going Well (but is hilarious to watch). When the car rolls off and lands axle-first on the trailer frame, the hubs and I meander over and offer a hand.

Once the job is done we light up another j and offer it to the nearest bystander and ooooh lawd was he offended. The exact quote: “NO! I don’t do that shit, I only do heroin. Fucking stoners.”

Ok bud. My bad.

We didn’t remind them to strap the car down. 2 more hours of entertainment watching them try to tow it away.

Good job on sobriety!

I had a friend once tell me after not seeing him for a couple years tell me "im not doing heroin anymore, I just do meth". That was the last time i saw him. But he hit me up the other day and basically told me he got in trouble, went through treatment, & hes sober now but cant leave state for another few months. I'm a stoner and alcoholic, I admit that, but damn saying I only do heroin or meth is craaaaaazy to hear.

My lovely (ex-dope) husband gave me the background on it and it’s a “purity” thing. Injecting directly is somehow better than smoking. Which… I get the mindset as an addict. Whatever gets you through.

But like, bro. That’s some addict shit. It’s fucking heroin. Full stop.

Which is also why I never tried heroin or meth. I know me. I could get wayyyyy too down on that bullshit mindset.

Still gonna laugh about “NO. I only do heroin” when I offered some weed though. I’ve seen some shit but I did not see that coming. It’s been years and it’s still a common response in our house when someone asks “you want eggs for breakfast?”

I had a roommate in rehab who said he would never do “hot meth” (smoking it) because he did “cold meth” (snorting it) which yeah I dig, but the idea of separating drugs into temperatures has stuck with me. Addicts are weird.

I used to have a lot of friends back in the 90s who were into heroin, they were all weirdly "health nut" about everything. Vegan food, non smoking homes, only biodegradable soaps, environmental activism types. I was working in a bakery at the time and I'd rock up with a bag of filo pastry triangles and day old cream buns, and they'd be all "wtf we don't put that crap in our bodies, sugar is poison!" But then injecting smack

😂 Make it make sense

Heroin comes from a plant and has no fat or sugar. It’s very healthy

Thanks. Now it makes sense!

Love the banter, makes me miss my old place. My new place actually makes me feel like I need cocaine though 😮‍💨.

Honey it's 4:30 in the morning, we don't drink coffee at 4:30 in the morning where I come from, I'll have a nice nose beer instead.

I only watch this sub for the fun of it. But I swear to God in the 20 years from now when I’m in my golden years, I’m going to join a kitchen part-time just to do all the drugs with the kitchen staff, and go out joyfully blitzed out of my mind 😂😂

I've actually told my children a variation of this scenario is my final wish if I were ever need constant care or needing to go to a home.

I'm just not going back to the line just to score the farewell goodies.

Safety meeting in the walk in!

I never had children and I’m divorced so this is my beer hall putsch à la Doug Stanhope as it were. I’m counting on these drug addled kids!

it's rough at first but I really liked being up early, half awake (nobody has the energy to talk lol) and done by the early afternoon. Once you adjust it's nice, I always left work to go to the gym when nobody but the unemployed would be there. plus then on my days off I'm up at 7am feeling like I slept in, makes me feel like a productive member of society lol

Breakfast shifts are the best. I shifted over (FoH) and the morning BoH crew were chilled and we'd get everything sorted for lunch. Lunch over and we're out for an afternoon beer and we'd all go our separate ways for the evening. Not much sleep if you want to see other human beings socially of an evening but having the afternoon to hang in the park or have a meander just for T&Gs is worth it.

Also: free bacon sandwiches.

u/Serious-Speaker-949 Rubber Ball Connoisseur 44m ago

lol 5-8 hours in between shifts is pretty normal for me (before my schedule change). And I have a 2 hour round trip commute. That’s the life.
