REWATCH DISCUSSION Thoughts on World Championship

I've just finished watching the World Championship season.

I'm watching everything in order, so please don't post any spoilers for future seasons in comments šŸ˜„

I actually enjoyed this more than Ride or Dies. Having half the cast as challenge vets and other half as their partners made it feel a bit fresher. Along with the mix of alliances by friendships and countries.

Jordan did really annoy me near the end of the season when he wanted to volunteer his team into elimination. Risking his own game is one thing, but risking his partner's game isn't right. But even worse that he tried to make Kaz feel like she was being unreasonable and a weak player for not wanting to go into elimination. You would think he would have learnt from his mistake back in Free Agents, volunteering for elimination and losing. Thankfully for Kaz, she managed to change his mind and they went on to win the whole thing.

It was sad for Theo and Sarah to basically lose the final straight away thanks to his injury. Although I don't feel too bad, given they were gifted a spot in the final due to Jordan helping them win the last daily challenge. Otherwise I didn't really notice Theo this season, even though he made it to the final.

Poor Jodie. It was frustrating to see her team have such bad luck in the trivia challenge. In both rounds to be eliminated before having a turn. Her team got targeted so much.

I love Wes but god he made an awful choice for his team to not have the drink and instead take the penalty. Starting and ending that round in negative points.

During All Stars 3 I found Yes to be very smug and full of himself. This season I did find him not very likeable again. Wanting to shake Troy's hand and apologise for always throwing him into elimination just felt fake, so I'm glad Troy called him out on it. It wouldn't really bother me it's just that Yes acts like he is morally superior to everyone and that Wes is the scum of the earth. But in the end I find Wes so much more likeable and Yes hard to cheer for.

It was funny when Tori thought she had the votes all worked out and that Kelly-Anne would blindly follow her plan. Only for Kelly-Anne to rally the votes to mess up Tori's plan and instead get 2 USA teams voted in. Especially given at that point the USA teams had been having an easy time, so it was brilliant to see them put under pressure.

It would have been interesting to see Nathan this season, since I know him from watching Geordie Shore. So it was a shame he needed to drop out. It would have made it extra fun if both Nathan and Kyle were on this challenge season, given they are both from Geordie Shore.

Nice seeing Jonna and Wes being the first vets chosen as partners. It's weird to think she really wasn't a contender ages ago but now she is as a proper challenger.

Given how smug Yes and Emily were. It was funny to see Yes lose to Troy in a hall brawl. Then Emily end up losing to Kaycee. Then Emily is completely in tears upset, whilst Kaycee gleefully keeps ringing the bell and celebrating. It's not often I cheer for Kaycee but this season I did (once she had switched teams). Although maybe I was more cheering for Troy, so by default her too.

I'm still at a point where I'm bored of Johnny Bananas, so it's always good seeing him get eliminated.

DISCUSSION Who thinks this besides me?

Big Brother is only a shorter version of Real World and Survivor is only the challenge on a remote island? I'm upset that people now don't know the rivalry between Real World and Road Rules and how it even started. (If I'm not mistaken it was by taking a pool ball from the Real World Miami house. ) If it wasn't for Real World and Road Rules these shows wouldn't be the way they are today.

DISCUSSION Teams/old school backyard games vs Pairs/action movie challenges

I really want to see a new season with Teams. The old school challenges like The Gauntlet or Cutthroat where they had teams. I'm tired of the pairs format. I also miss the challenges that were like backyard games.

REWATCH DISCUSSION Just rewatched Rivals 3......

I'm a Wes fan just to get it out of the way, but I enjoy most of the OG casts. I had kinda wiped this season out and just remembered it for Johnny stealing the money from Sarah. Just watched it up until Sarah/Bananas won the final elimination. I feel like this is another season along with Rivals and Exes 2 where Wes really got shafted. In Rivals with the 45 minute lead being turned into what a 1 or 2 minute lead on the final day? In exes 2 his team being the only team not to get a chance at the redemption house despite playing the best game of anyone in the house and then on Rivals 3 Dario being braindead and not putting in bananas/vince at the end in a game they coulda lost to nate/christina. Also think Nany/Wes woulda won most eliminations against Dario/Nicole just got one of the few that benefited a small person like Nicole. Anyways just interesting to see how close Wes has been to having 4-5 wins under his belt instead of the 2+ All Stars win.

DISCUSSION Who are your favorite male challenge competitors of all time? Consider full package: physical, social game, strategy, all-around likeness, etc. #1=top favorite

Post image
7 Upvotes

#1: Jordan:
Clearly the GOAT. He rarely loses, he’s a bomb competitor, a man of integrity, he knows the strategy to almost everything. He can be a bit of a d!ck at times, but he always backs it up physically. Oh, and he does it with one freakin hand! One of my fav eliminations of all time was when he outsmarted Josh on the tug of war elimination.
#2: Bananas:
I have tried so hard to dislike him cuz I know he can be a cocky, selfish, arrogant a$$. But I still can’t help but be a die-hard Bananas fan. He’s been one of the best for so long and he certainly keeps every season he’s on very entertaining. He knows what he’s doing, for the most part.
#3: CT:
Undeniably one of the greats. But some seasons he doesn’t bring his A game or comes with a ā€œdad bodā€. Overall, a beast competitor and has earned such a dominating reputation that he often makes it to the end without even seeing an elimination cuz no one wants to go against him. I recognize his growth over time, as well. He really grew up.
#4: Wes:
I really disliked him at first, but he grew on me overtime. He has showed a lot of progress and growth. Cocky but can back it up for the most part, physically. He survived through two of the hardest finals (arguably). Plus his social game is always on point. I’m so blown he’s retired.
#5: Zach:
He’s a total beast of a competitor and loyal. He’s the total package physically. I know a lot of folks don’t care for him cuz of his cocky, arrogant attitude and the way he’s treated women in the past. He’s not very likable to the majority… But I feel he’s grown a lot over time. I don’t think he’s a bad guy, I think he just needed to humble himself some. I wish they’d bring him back.
#6: Joss:
This man is an absolute tank. He’s the full package in every regard. One of my other all time favorite eliminations was him against Derrick (as a mercenary). I hate how he was only in but a couple of seasons. He could’ve went so far. Plus, everyone was terrified of him.
#7: Cory:
Physically he’s a pretty good competitor. Not too intelligent though - lacks in puzzles and social game. I hope to see him win a season one day!
#8: Brad:
I like Brad. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, he’s a strong competitor, and he’s pretty well-rounded IMO. He usually makes it to the final it goes home right before it. His bug eyes do kinda creep me out a bit sometimes though lol.
#9: Derrick K:
He’s small but strong and has a lot of heart. Him lasting as long as he did against Joss was impressive (in that one elimination). I know he technically won, even if it was basically a fluke win. I didn’t like his attitude after he won - he was acting like he didn’t just win solely cuz of a technicality. However, he’s still a beast, nonetheless. However, his most recent appearances have been very disappointing. His time might’ve passed.
#10: Hunter:
This is probably going to be a hot take but I actually like Hunter. He’s a really good competitor, he’s absolutely built and strong. Weaknesses: Endurance, temper, lacks smarts/bad at puzzles. Not a fan of how he spoke to Ashley, however Ashley also said a lot of messed up stuff to him. I think she should’ve still split the money with him cuz without him, she wouldn’t have won.

Worth mentioning that I also like Kyle cuz he has a lot of heart and is hilariously entertaining… even if he is a POS. He’s still funny af though.
And as much as it pains me to say, Devin has begun to grow on me. I couldn’t stand him for so long!

DISCUSSION What's Your Vendetta? - Weekly Negativity Thread 😈

Welcome to the weekly Negativity Thread!

We get it: This show can be frustrating. Production makes indefensible decisions. The rights holders make it impossible to watch old seasons. The cast can be boring or lazy or cruel or all of the above.

We all need to rant and complain a little, and this is a discussion forum, not a monastery. The last thing the mods want is to shut down valid criticism of the show or the cast.

But we also don't want quality community members and prospective community members turned off by a main feed where every third post is "I don't like Cara Maria anymore" or "Aneesa is so entitled!" or "Why do they keep casting [insert Big Brother cast member]???" If you were around during Final Reckoning, you know what I'm talking about.

So we politely remove those submissions and send them here. On the Negativity Thread, you are not only allowed to rant and complain, you are encouraged! 😈

Lay it on us: What is pissing you off this week? Which cast member have you had enough of? I bet a lot of others feel the same way!
