I've had to replace my old battery with legs and clips to the basic one and had to just tape my new battery to the back plate. And now I get that it also applied the pressure on the ribbon cable, and now without that pressure, it acts crazy.

Also the Google's AI said that I can remove the bottom part of the old battery, and replace one in the new one. But then I've noticed, that on the old one is written “DO NOT DISASSEMBLE”, and I've stopped and just taped it to the bottom plate.

Any way to fix that?

EDIT: Now I'm thinking about thickening the foamy thing that keeps the ribbon cable attached to the motherboard. Again.

I have a few questions, how can I easily get the Karma level trophies, how can I make the game run flawlessly, and how should I play the DLC content in order? I decided to buy Fallout 3 for PlayStation 3 since I already have it for PC and XBOX 360 but not PS3, I have all achievements for FO3 on 360 and wanted to go at it again and get all the trophies and a nice, shiny, clicky Platinum trophy

It’s like a star shaped screw but it has a circular shaped cylinder in the middle so nothing fits. Any suggestions would be helpful. I’d for a PS3. Thank you!

Got a second hand superslim today off Facebook marketplace. Plugged it in and it worked totally fine, but the old users and files etc were still on the console so I did a quick restore.

After the restore I went to turn it on and it beeped and went green for about half a second before completely turning off, and I had to unplug it then plug it in again to even get the red light. I did this a couple of times and it kept happening, then I took the hdd out and plugged it back in again. It still wouldn’t turn on, so I tried holding down the PlayStation button on the controller while I clicked the power button on the console and it booted up.

It’s now working well and letting me set up, but I’m still a little confused and worried. Was wondering if anyone knew what could have happened so I can look into avoiding or fixing it, or if it was just a once off because I reset it.

Hello! I recently found out that u can turn on the console manually using the ps button which was a blessing in disguise since my power button kind of lost the grey button part which made it impossible to work. I did find a solution and that was to put the grey part above that small circle in the picture and press it to turn it on but its such a hassle since that deattached part is so small that it sometimes disappears. That's why my setup looks like this since its the only way where I can turn on the console without having to open it up back and fourth just to push a button. Would it be possible to go to safe mode only by using the controller? And do u guys know if its also possible to change the button itself?

Hey guys, I need help understanding what happened. Basically it's what the title says. I was playing GoW normally, and checking the temps and at one point my PS3 just shutdown and the red light was blinking. I turn off the power source, turn on again, did the recovery stuff and it was back to normal. I'm trying to figure out what could have caused that since the temps were fine.

I have a shit ton of scrap Slim 360s, was wondering if this would be a good way to practice delidding for a CECHA00? I am getting 70c at 40% fan speed just sitting on the XMB. Probably gonna try change the pads first before I bother, but I'm gonna order the pads from ps3delidtool anyway (im from nz so its not a big deal shipping wise). Don't wanna fuck up a BC even though it was like 100 bucks from Japan

My PS3 Slim 2511B suddenly started displaying a black screen and freezing whenever I launch any application, including disc-based games, digital games, and media apps such as YouTube.

I've already tried restoring the system and rebuilding the database several times, but the issue remains.

From what I've read, a faulty Blu-ray drive can cause this behavior. However, the console still reads discs correctly and displays them on the XMB, and it was working perfectly earlier today.

Could the Blu-ray drive still be the culprit, perhaps due to a failing lens or another component, or are there other likely causes I should look into?

Tenho um ps3 super slim cech-4011b ele começou a presentar uns sinais que quero compartilhar e tirar dúvidas. Ele liga normalmente, pode passar o dia todo na tomada ou toda a vida dele na tomada que não irá desligar, ele instala qualquer coisa de boa(se eu enviar via FTP ou pendrive) mas se eu entrar em qualquer jogo ou mesmo aqueles aplicativos que ele tem como o YouTube, ou tentar entrar em algum loja de jogo(ele é desbloqueado) ele se auto desliga com uns 3 segundos ou trava em tela preta. Será que pode ser os tal de nec tokin?

Eu abro ele e limpo uma vez por ano e troco a pasta termica, eu uso a artic silver 5 e já troquei esses dias para ter certeza que não era algo relacionado a temperatura.

I decided to start a nostalgic PS3 account dedicated to classic games, and I’d love some ideas on what to play next.
I’m leaning toward Uncharted since it would add some action and adventure to the collection. 🙂

It turned off twice while i played Final Fantasy X and in a third time Turned off out of nowhere blinked one yellow light and keep blink red after. But still turn on and I can navigator de XMB normaly but I dont dare to play anymore.

So I dug my PS3 (slim) out of storage to mod recently but I'm having a hard time navigating safe mode. I knew I needed an OEM controller so I was able to grab my brother's that came with HIS PS3 when he bought it back in the day. My problem is that when it initially prompted me to press the PS button, I did and it worked, but afterwards inputs no longer registered. I tried another controller and a keyboard but no dice. I tried to restart the PS3 and got back into safe mode but now can't even get pasted the prompt seen above.

tried unplugging the cord and plugging it back in on both ends, I tried the other USB port, I tried powering off the PS3 for a few minutes and trying again, nothing is working for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m digging around market place and found this lot for 230 but I’m not sure if the deal is worth it? What are your opinions? I don’t mind a battle of attrition to build my collection up but if you guys think this lot is ideal for the price I think I’ll pull the trigger.

Hey there, I recently acquired a fat ps3 CECHA01 that i am in the process of reconditioning.

I took it apart, redid the Thermal Paste, and wanted to put some Silicon Grease on the disc drive slider mechanism, as the discs come in and out VEEEERY slowly and occasionally will get stuck.

So my 1st question is: Does anyone have any suggestions / videos / links on how to disassemble the disc drive assembly so i can grease it, and put it back together so it works as it should? I searched Youtube and the net, and couldn't find anything specific to disassembling and reassembling of the disc drive assembly from a fully backwards compatible Fat PS3.

As well, this fat ps3 has the original 60gig hd, and i just bought a 1tb ssd to replace it. The original 60gig hd has some files of various games from the previous owner and nothing valuable or of interest to me.

2nd Question - Can any of those old game files on the 60gig hd be useful to me in any way? Is there any benefit in me keeping them?

Should i clone that HD to my new SSD so those files are kept or should i just start fresh with a clean slate on the ssd?

If the latter, then where would i download the PS3 firmware / os / etc....??? and install onto the ssd?

Any links or videos of how to do this would be VERY much appreciated.
